Dear Diary,

It has been one year since the Lich revealed himself. It's been a busy week. Two coronations and one farewell. We regrettably had to say goodbye to Granny Marceline and Granny Bonnibel. They left for the Night-O-Sphere this morning. Granny Marce taught me the spell to create a portal to go and visit. So long as I don't try to swing any sharp objects at the back of her head. Marceline took the position of ruler of the Night-O-Sphere, thought she didn't really want to. Granny Bonnibel convinced her in ways I really don't wish to know about. Granny Bonnibel needs a kingdom to rule, so I suppose Marceline gave that to her. Even if it's a kingdom that smells like bananas and farts.

My father officially decreed to the kingdom that my brother was next in line to rule the candy subjects. He has a lot to learn, but we've been helping him. As for my mother, we found her. She was locked away in the dungeon, deep, deep down. The body she was given was that of an old man named Mustard. Her mind was so rotted within the candy walls when we found her, we decided it was best to let her believe she was Mustard. I go down every once in a while to play chess with her and read her stories from my favorite book.

It's a diary. The one that revealed the truth. The truth that being who I am really isn't so bad. Even when it is bad, it feels good. My own story isn't as interesting as that of my two grandmas. It doesn't have a great love story either. But, I did get new markings today, and a new crown. I took up on a legacy I never expected to.

I write this last chapter of my own diary as the truth. The truth to what really happened in the castle. So that everyone, for years and years, will know. They'll know how strong a child can be. They'll know how smart even the prettiest pink princess can be. They'll know that sometimes evil things really aren't so bad. They'll know that even if they feel like they can't be proud of anything they've done, they can be proud of who they've become.
Remember, everyone, no matter what, is always welcome in the walls of the candy kingdom. They're always welcome to call it home.

No one gave that to me when I was younger, so I extend it to anyone rummaging around thinking they'll find nothing but cob webs and dust.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have ruling to do, weenies.
Sincerely,

Astrid - The vampire queen.

The End.
