AN: So, I want to give a shout out to those who reviewed.

11/9/12: Sorry it's been so long. Right now my muse is stuck on Nightwing. This has been sitting abandoned for a while but I am finally going to post it.

Platipigirl 7/31/12 . chapter 1

Hmm how many times did u watch this? Jk, like it can't wait for more! :)

(hey could u do a bit of beckxpaige?)

Response: Hmm. How many times did I watch this? Answer: A LOT. LOL. No, seriously. And that was just the first half of the episode. There were still a few spots where I had trouble. Most of those were when Beck was narrating his story to Tron. I had to summarize a few small parts of his fights. There was one word (marked by the *) as well as Beck's following statement ("So does image and slavery, or my friends, gone.") that I wasn't sure of. I couldn't make out the words clearly enough. I didn't even attempt to write out Tron's opening narrative scenes. The one time I did, it turned out horrible.

I'm glad you can't wait for more. I loved writing it. As for BeckXPaige, let me think about it… Of course, I will. It's my favorite Tron pairing next to SamXQuorra and TronXYori (which will be in this as well). I will give hints to it for the first several episodes. I may or may not do more before it happens in the show (which it most likely will) depending on how the story goes. This story will stray a bit from the show due to the twist. I'm looking forward to writing Identity. Isolated will definitely be fun to. Scars will be a blast.

Thank you for reviewing.

Guest 7/31/12 . chapter 1

Please update because it's good to have somebody type this!

Response: Thank you! Yes, I have noticed the lack of Tron: Uprising stories. At least they've added the characters to the drop down lists.

Without spoiling too much, for those who don't read the review replies, this story will have Beck/Paige and Tron/Yori. It will stray some from the new episodes, especially starting at Identity. Because of Beck's first amnesia things will be different.

Note: Pay close attention to Beck's and Tron's flashbacks.

8/9- Well, you're lucky. I'm taking a break from Wings of Night while watching the Tron: Uprising marathon to write this.

Disclaimer: I do not own.

Ch. 2: Beck's Beginning Part 2: Beck's POV cont.

Beck ignored the familiar room he was in to look outside the large window before him. It helped keep his mind off the fact that he was somehow connected to Tron. His system was still glitching since meeting Tron, but it had become unimportant to what he had learned. No matter how hard he tried, he could never remember more than a few faded and blurry memories and facts. Yet, as he stood there, a memory came to him.

Flashback:

He was struggling to breathe. At first, the pain had been easy enough to handle, but now it was unbearable. Still, it meant it was working. The final thread holding his identity in place snapped. What was working? Who was he? What was happening?

"Be strong Beck," a voice whispered. It was familiar but he couldn't figure out how.

Beck, was that his name? Yes, of course it was. He was a mechanic program. Beyond that, he knew nothing else.

End Flashback

Beck frowned. That had been Tron's voice he had heard. He knew there was more to the memory, but he couldn't remember what. There was some important piece he was missing. Oddly enough he didn't glitch and no error messages came. His system had calmed. He shook his head and returned his attention to the view of Argon City and the Game Coliseum.

"There's a war raging on," Tron said, catching his attention. "Most programs don't even know it's happening. Clu's generals are taking over every city on the Grid. Now, thanks to you, we can bring the fight to him."

Beck turned and walked over to Tron. "Wait, what do you mean me?" he asked. "What do I do?" He knew the answer, but didn't want to accept it. His attack on Clu's statue had been a one-time thing, no matter how much his system was screaming that he was meant to be more.

"You're special," Tron answered. "I saw what you did tonight. You have a gift Beck."

As much as the praise from his idol was flattering, it didn't stop that part of his system was telling him to run away and never come back, that it wasn't worth it.

"Gift? I'm an okay mechanic," Beck said. "That's my gift. You see that thing with the statue; it-it was nothing. It was a one-time deal."

"It's a revolution Beck," Tron said. "You must finish what's begun."

"Why can't you finish it?" he asked. "You were the one programmed to secure the Grid."

"Don't you think I want to?" Tron replied. "I can't." Tron took a few steps back and stopped in the spot he spent most of his interrogation. A green light surrounded him. "Clu betrayed me, left me with scars that will never heal. He took everything from me, everything but my name."

He stared in shock at the scars covering Tron's body. 'They're worse than before,' he thought, not knowing where the knowledge came from. Again, this was a thought he knew should send errors through his mind, yet they were mysteriously absent.

"I need you to help me carry on that name. Show everyone that as long as Tron lives, there is still hope."

"I'm sorry," Beck said. "But what I did, I don't know why I did it. But-but I'm not special. I'm just like everyone else."

'Who are you trying to fool, him, or yourself?' a voice identical to his said in his mind. Okay, so maybe he was still glitching.

"Do you truly believe that?" Tron asked, obviously sensing his doubt.

"Yeah," Beck said, but inside, every part of him was crying out "No".

"Then the war is already lost," Tron said, stepping off the scanner.

He hated the disappointment coming from Tron, but how could he save the Grid if he didn't even know who he really was?

Riding back to Argon not much later, he considered everything he had learned. Tron was alive and wanted him to be his successor. But what scared him the most was the fact that the idea wasn't unfamiliar to him. The forbidden part of him that consisted of his forgotten memories accepted the idea like it was natural, as if it was his legacy that he was always meant to inherit.

"That's because it is,' the voice said again.

He barely avoided being sighted by three Recognizers, one of which he was sure held Tessler and his goons. In order to escape being caught, he derezzed his cycle and ended up in a snow like pile of data. One Recognizer flew right above where he was, recovering him with snow. He was pretty sure that was Tessler's. Finally, when he was sure they were gone he climbed out of the snow and tossed his baton once in the air.

Back in Able's Garage, he sighed as he put his baton in his locker and closed it.

"Beck!" Able called. He turned around to see his boss standing in the entrance. "Where have you been?"

"Uh…I …" Beck stammered.

"Get down to the garage," Able ordered. "Something's happening."

As he rode the elevator down to the garage, he thought about what was happening. No doubt Tessler and his goons were announcing the presence of the Renegade. He didn't know whether to be worried or proud. As the elevator stopped and he spotted the Recognizers hovering above the crowd, he felt angry.

"This way program," a guard said as the door opened. The two guards waiting for him grabbed him by the arms and dragged him towards the crowd.

"Finally," a familiar voice said. He looked up to see Tessler's female henchman. "We've been waiting for you."

The two guards threw him to the ground, releasing him. "Now I really feel special," he said.

"Don't flatter yourself Program," the female program said. "This isn't just for you. It's for everyone." She headed towards what looked like a Recognizer but turned out to be a screen as it turned on and showed an image of the explosion that had destroyed Clu's statue. "What happened last night is nothing short of sedition."

'To you maybe,' he thought as Mara and Zed helped him stand up.

The screen changed showing videos of him in his Tron suit. "If you know this program, turn him in."

'Fat chance of that happening,' he thought.

"Is that Tron?" he heard a program ask. Beck didn't smirk, knowing that things were about to get worse.

"As long as he's free, you won't be," the female program said.

'Like we were ever free after you guys came,' he thought snidely.

"Tessler's henchwoman walked towards them. "I'm here to announce that Tessler is bringing the games to Argon." She stopped right in front of him as if taunting him that this was his fault. "In a few cycles we will be rounding up volunteers until this imposter is apprehended." She turned around and walked back to the screen. With a wave of her hand the guards turned. "Now, back to work." Beck watched as they followed her away.

Walking over to the nearest cycle, he activated his gear and pulled out his Recoder, tossing it once in the air. He was about to attach it to the cycle when a familiar hand stopped him. He turned around and faced Tessler's henchwoman.

"Where did you get that?" she asked.

"Uh…" He didn't know how to reply. She obviously recognized the move with the Recoder from when he left her in the Light Jet. "I…I found it," he said, hoping to distract her from her correct suspicions.

"He got it from the cabinet where we keep all the tools," Able said, coming to his rescue. His mentor gestured to the cabinet beneath his arms where three other recoders lay.

"Back to it Program," she said, releasing him and walking away.

"Nice to meet you," Beck said. Maybe that would throw her off her suspicions.

"I see the feeling is mutual," Zed said sarcastically as she continued to walk away, not even reacting to his words.

"Alright everyone," Abe said, "the soldiers are gone. Let's get back to work."

"Last night of freedom," Zed sighed.

A while later he, Mara and Zed were alone. Beck was leaning an elbow against the wall by Mara, who was sitting slightly on one of the cycles. Across from them Zed was leaning against another cycle. He couldn't help but think about how all of this was his fault. He had become the Renegade, Tron, to make a point and all he had done was cause even more trouble. Now, programs were going to die because of it.

"This Renegade, Tron, whoever he is, he's causing a lot of problems," Zed said.

"Maybe he's just trying to help," he said. "Look what they did to Bodhi."

"And now they're going to do it to all of us because of him," Zed replied.

"I think he's brave," Mara said. Beck silently thanked the blue-haired program. She was the only one who could calm Zed down.

"Really?" Zed asked.

Silently, they all stood up and began walking through the garage.

"Seems kinda cowardly," Zed said, "hiding out, covering his face, letting us suffer."

They reached a screen showing the Renegade.

"He's fighting for us," Mara said, glaring at Zed. "And he's kinda handsome."

Beck resisted the urge to blush at the statement. Turning to the screen he studied the image. This was what he could be, what he was supposed to be. But was it worth the price? Somehow he knew if he continued as the Renegade, he would discover the secrets of his past.

"Handsome!" Zed exclaimed. "H-how do you know? He's in a mask."

"I have a feeling," Mara replied.

"Beck what do you think?" Zed asked. "Is he handsome? Is he on our side?" He started to walk away.

"Please?"

"Zed, come on," Beck said as Mara dragged him after Zed.

"Zed!" Mara called out.

"Beck!" Mara and Beck turned. They were in front of Able's office. "May I speak with you?"

Beck turned to Mara and Zed who were standing a few feet away. "Go on without me. I'll catch up with you later."

He sat down across from Able.

"Did you have anything to do with that statue being destroyed?" Able asked.

Beck startled, shocked. "No," he replied. "I was just out for a walk. I needed some time alone. I was, upset about Bodhi."

"I know," Able said. "We're all upset about that. But we can't dwell on what happened. And you certainly can't act on those feelings. With Tessler and his soldiers here, we all have to be more careful now. Things have changed."

"Don't worry. It won't happen a…" Beck was cut off by the alarms.

Rushing to the nearest viewable spot, they stared in horror at the site before them.

"Attention programs," Tessler said. "I am General Tessler, here to tell you that you are now volunteering for the games. Thank you for your cooperation."

The programs below were encircled in an orange ribbon. Beck started to walk forward but Able stopped him.

"I thought they had more time," he heard Tessler's henchwoman say from somewhere below the General's perch.

"I decided to move up the schedule," Tessler said. "If you had done your job, none of this would have been necessary."

Beck winced in sympathy which disappeared as he watched another orange ribbon appear and encircle the group Mara and Zed were in. Zed was calling out his name. He watched in horror as his friends were led into a Light Rail.

"Come inside," Able said, stopping him from going after them. "There's nothing we can do."

He wasn't going to believe that, but obeyed Able. He couldn't save them as Beck. Determined, he went to his locker and changed his suit, grabbing his light cycle baton as well. Once outside, he rezzed his bike. He raced through Argon until finally he was above the Light Rail. He drove his bike over the edge of the road, derezzing it before he landed on the train. He almost fell of the train but gripped it before he could, catching his baton in his other hand. He pulled himself onto the train.

After saving his friends and fighting Tessler, Beck found himself back in Tron's base.

"I want to do this," he said. "I have to do this." Not just for himself, but for all the other programs on the Grid. He had made his decision. "I'm ready."

"No, you're not," Tron said. Tron reached back and removed his identity disc. He then detached a white one from it. His suit turned black. "But you will be." Tron handed him the white disc. Removing his own, Beck attached the white disc. He put his disc back and watched in shock as an oddly familiar white suit took the place of his "Tron" one.

"Come," Tron said, turning and walking away. "We have a lot of work to do…Tron."

Beck followed, everything feeling right for once. He was where he was supposed to be.

AN: yeah, I skipped most of the last 8 minutes of the episode. I found it hard to write them.

Please Review.
