Alfred twisted his hands nervously. His life was about to change, with this moment. Despite his nerves, though, he was looking forward to finally reaching it - and all with the one he loved.
He still remembered the moment they first met. Hearing her lovely voice that belonged to an angel...uttering those precious words.
"Can I take your order, please?"
It was at that moment Alfred knew they belonged together.
And here they were now, ready to take that next step in their relationship.
She stepped up before him, a beatific smile on her face. He couldn't help but smile back.
"Here you go," she said, handing him a paper bag. "That'll be $6.98."
He handed her the money and held the bag close to him, breathing in its heavenly scent.
"Ugh, come on, already," an aggravated voice complained beside him. Arthur took hold of his arm and steered him away. "You get like this every time we go out for McDonald's. Honestly, it's just greasy fast food. Nothing to fall in love over."
Alfred turned back and winked at the girl, waving farewell with his free hand. Then he grabbed Arthur's hand and intertwined their fingers, grinning at the cute shade of red his face turned. "Alright, you grumpy Brit. I'm sorry I made you jealous~ 3"
Arthur went redder. "Just eat your stupid burger."
