Oliver Wood came home to his flat to find it full of smoke and a horrible acrid smell coming from the kitchen. As Oliver walked closer to the kitchen his eyes began to water. "Percy, what's going on?" he called out.
Percy than walked out of the kitchen with his hair a mess, food all over his face and clothes, and cuts all over his hands. "I'm sorry, Oliver. I tried cooking and well this happened," Percy said gesturing to the mess on him and around the kitchen.
"So you decided to not use magic?" Oliver asked after getting over the initial shock of how the kitchen looked. There was smoke coming from a couple of pots on the stove, bits of what looked like potato all over the cabinets and counter, a knife and cutting board sat on the counter with messed up pieces of what was once vegetables.
"No I used magic," Percy admitted. He was no longer able to meet Oliver's eyes and his whole face was flushed.
"You're kidding, Perce," Oliver laughed while seeing Percy blush even more, "You were the best in our year and you can't cook." Oliver earned a glare from Percy while he opened the windows letting the smoke out of the kitchen. "If you don't mind me asking, why were you trying to cook?" Oliver asked while beginning to clean up the mess.
"Well, it's our anniversary tomorrow and I thought I could treat you-"
"By burning down the kitchen?" Oliver received another glare. "I'm kidding, Perce. Besides I think the gesture was really sweet just let me do the cooking from now on, okay?"
"Sure," Percy agreed from where he was standing awkwardly in the doorway.
"Now come on, we need to clean up your hands," Oliver said dragging Percy out of the kitchen and into the bathroom. Percy finally looked down at his hands saw the cuts all over them and blushed again.
When Oliver began to clean his hands Percy began to complain saying, "Oliver you don't need to do this. I'm fine, I can take care of myself."
"Think of it as me returning the favor," Oliver said while getting a confused look from the red head. "You always take care of me after practice and when I'm sick,"he explained.
"Oh," Percy said just as the two heard something go off in the kitchen.
"Percy, what was that?" Oliver asked sounding incredibly nervous.
"That would be the chicken I have in the oven," Percy said as Oliver ran to the kitchen hoping Percy didn't destroy anything else.
