Chapter Three
The Meeting of a Pharaoh

Tabitha let out a sigh as she held a woven basket full of clothes that she had just washed. She had lived with Bakura for over a month now... and she felt like his maid. She had not chance another escape since her last time, because she knew that he would just look for her and bring her back again and be his slave and maid... she frowned at the thought, she couldn't understand why he wouldn't let her leave - but at the same time... it wasn't like she had anywhere to go... she had somehow ended up in the past in Ancient Egypt and she didn't know how she could return back to her time. She looked up at the sky and closed her eyes as she sighed once more. What was she going to do?

"Excuse me?"

"!?"

:::::

A seventeen year old stood at 5' 7" in height, wearing a light brown cloak covering his body and face from view, on his feet are a pair of sandy-brown slip on shoes. He walked with authority; he stopped walking when he spotted a girl standing with her eyes closed. Her wavy brown blew softly in slight wind, he was surprised to see that she has yellow highlights in her hair. Her skin was pale compared to any Egyptian women that he had seen. She is wearing a fitting long-sleeve brown dress that reached her ankles and brown slip on shoes. He could tell that she was about an inch or two shorter then he was. And he wondered what color were her eyes?

"Excuse me?" he said in a deep voice, but spoke softly so has to not scare her. "!?" the girl's eyes snapped open and he saw the most beautiful blue-green eyes that he had seen... in fact, he had never seen anyone with that color before. He saw those beautiful eyes narrow at him as she frowned. "Who are you?" she asked softly, but with a firm voice. He bowed his head and a small smiled graced his lips and she just continued to frown at the person that was just a few feet away from her, his eyes and hair hidden from view because of his hood. "Forgive me... I did not mean to scare you. I am known as Yami." She blinked as she stared at him; he was so polite... "Uh... it's alright." She said with a sigh. "May I ask of your name?" he asked and she stayed silent for a moment... wondering if she shook reply. "... It's Tabitha." she said softly and Yami continued to smile at her. "What a lovely name for a lovely girl." she blushed at his comment.

"Is there a reason why you are talking to me?" she asked; getting to the point. He only chuckled. "I am looking for a man named Bakura."

"Bakura?" she blinked and he nodded; a frown formed once more on her face. 'What does he want with Bakura I wonder...' "Is there a reason why you are looking for him?" she asked and he nodded once more. "I only wish to speak to him... do you know him?" asked Yami. "... I know him, but I haven't known him very long..." she trailed off and he stared at her for a moment. "How long have you known him?" he question; Tabitha just gave an irritated. "I've only known him for a month, I happen to live with him..." she said softly and he gave her a frown. "You don't seem happy about it, may I ask why?"

'Should I tell him? What does it matter... it's not like I can go home...' "I don't really like Bakura... the only reason why I'm staying is because I have no where else to go... and if I did try to leave - he would just find me and drag me back here." she said sadly as she looked down at the ground. Yami stayed silent as looked at the sadden look on her face. 'So she isn't with Bakura...' "How would you feel if you could live at the palace? As a guest?" Tabitha looked at Yami with surprise on her face."T-the palace? But wouldn't I need permission from the Pharaoh to stay there?" she asked with a frown on her face; wondering who really was this person...

He smiled. "I know the Pharaoh quite well. I'm sure he would understand and let you stay as a guest."

"..."

'If he knows the Pharaoh... is he looking for Bakura to take him to prison? Is he a guard?' "What would I have to do to get into the Palace?"

"Tell me where Bakura is." 'Thought so... I really want to get away, but I don't want to see anyone get hurt either..."Bakura is out right now. He never tells me where he goes and I never know when he will get back. While he is gone, I clean and straighten things in the house and when he get's home I cook for him." she said softly. "I'm sorry, I wish I could tell you more, but I can't tell you anything if I don't know where he is." that was partly the truth... he was most likely with Malik, but she wasn't sure if they were at his house or somewhere else. "I see..." Yami said slowly as he continued to look at the girl. "Does he live here?"

"... Yes..." she looked at him sadly. "Most of the time at least. I wish I could be more help you more. But this is all that I know." she then gave a small smile. "I guess I won't be leaving after all. You need all the information on Bakura that you can get and I hardly have any to give you." she said softly as she slowly turned away from him, but not before giving a fair well. "I do hope you find him, good day." she said with a bow and turned her back to him and began walking back to the small house that she and Bakura shared.

"You have told me enough." Tabitha stopped and looked over her shoulder with wide eyes. "Wh-what?" she asked, dumbfounded. He smiled at her once more. If you truly want to leave this place... come with me. The Pharaoh will gladly take you in." he said as he held out his tan hand out to her. She turned around, facing him with surprise on her face. She then looked up at the sky. 'It will be dark soon and Bakura will be returning in the middle of the night.' she placed the basket of clothes down on the ground. "I want to leave..." she then walked forward and placed her hand in his. "Please take me to the palace."

:::::

"HALT! Who goes there!" An Egyptian guard shouted as he blocked their path from entering into the palace. Yami raised his hands and took a hold of his hood took it off to show his face. The face of Pharaoh Atem of Lower Egypt. Both guards that were guarding the gate to the palace bowed low. "F-forgive us Pharaoh! We did not know it was you!" Atem only smiled. "Fear not, you wouldn't of known. Go back to you're posts." they nodded. Atem looked over his shoulder and ruby-red met blue green. "This way." she could only nod, because of the shock. ' He's the Pharaoh? I thought the Pharaoh would be at least in his thirties... he doesn't look much older then me...' she thought as she followed the nearly grown man inside the palace.

"My Pharaoh! Where have you been!?" a voice cried out; both teenagers looked ahead and saw a elder man running up to the Pharaoh. His eyes wide with worry. "Ah... Shimon, have you seen Isis?" Atem asked; avoiding Shimon's question. He blinked his violet eyes at the young king. "High Priestess is in the temple with High Priest Set..." Shimon trailed off as he looked at Atem confused. The young king hardly ever asked for Isis...

"Summon her to my room, won't you?" he said with a smile and then grab a hold of Tabitha's hand and she gasped as they sprinted off to his room. Tabitha blushed but could say anything as the Pharaoh dragged her along with him. Shimon on the other hand sweat dropped and gave an unbelievable look that crossed his face. 'Who is that girl?'

:::::

Isis's mouth almost dropped when went into the Pharaoh's personal chambers... there sitting on his bed was a pale skin girl with beautiful blue-green eyes, she sat with her hands in her lap and her cheeks a soft rosy color. She looked very uneasy. Isis looked to her right and saw the Pharaoh sitting next to her... and was smiling kindly to the girl that sat on his bed. His ruby-red eyes looked up and saw the High Priestess. "Isis!" he said with a smile. Isis almost had a heart attack. The Pharaoh never smiled so kindly and at first she thought she was seeing things, an illusion perhaps?

"This is Tabitha. She is an honored guest of mine. Please give her a guest room and give her proper clothing."

This was an illusion... right?

:::::

Bakura was tired, very tired! Sometimes he even wondered why he teamed up with Malik... he was such a pain... and this is why he preferred to work alone - but sadly, stealing wasn't on his mind at the moment. It was Tabitha and the odd feelings that he was starting to have for the girl. He should of just refused her from day one; and where did it get him? He had the urge to lay down with her and make her his... he had even kissed her (he was really angry when he kissed her too!) and because of that... she ignored him when he was around her.

She had no problem talking with Malik (Malik on the other hand has a feeling that Bakura wanted to gut him because he was friendly to Tabitha.) sure she cleaned the house and made it neat, when he came home, she would cook for him and then she would return to her room without a word.

Bakura's eye twitched. He was annoyed... very annoyed! He never thought that this girl would bother him so much... he needed to find a whore and vent! He stopped short when he knocked something over, not too far from his home. He narrowed his violet eyes as he knelled down to get a closer look.

A woven basket with clean clothes...

He frowned. Tabitha also put the clothes inside the house after they were clean... why was this basket outside? He stood up and walked towards the door and found it unlocked. He looked around his home and could see no one was around. A feeling inside himself began to burn as his anger began to raise.

She had run away again... Bakura tighten his fist; when he found her, he would make sure she felt her punishment! And no one would stop him from having her!

~ End Chapter Three ~

Uh oh! Bakura's mad XD This story was originally supposed to be Bakura/Tabitha... but as I thought about it - I really like Bakura/Tabitha/Atem... ahhh, how things change. ANYWAYS! This is the 3rd chapter and I hope it turned out alright. Still on the short side, but I hope someone likes it. The next chapter will most likely be Tabitha living her life in the palace as well as trying to find someway home to her time. There is mostly mistakes, but I'm really tired right now... please review!
