-June 24th 1998-
"Okay I think today's the day. I'm sure Ellie is coming today." Lexi stated as she looked at Opie.
"You said that yesterday and the last three days. Baby, Ellie will come when she wants to." Opie told her. Lexi nodded and waddled her way into the office.
"Mom? I'm here." Lexi called as she sat down in the chair in front of the desk.
"Hey baby girl. How are you feeling?" Lexi looked up at Gemma.
"Pregnant. Ellie is two weeks overdue, how do you think I'm feeling?" She answered.
"Ellie will be here before you know it. Trust me, she just isn't ready yet." Gemma told her. She patted Lexi's cheek and sat in the opposite chair.
Lexi sighed and leaned back against the chair. "If she doesn't come by tomorrow the doctor is going to induce me." Gemma nodded and started to begin that day's paperwork for the garage.
Lexi helped her mother with the paperwork for that day and at the end of the day she and Opie left for their little home with their now almost two-year-old daughter Rose. That night Lexi finally went into labor. Ellie Hope Winston was born at 6:30 p.m. and was 8 lbs. even and 20 inches long.
"You're going to be a stubborn one just like mommy and daddy." Lexi told her newborn.
"Also like the woman she is named after." Lexi looked up, startled at the new voice.
"Ella? Is that you?" She questioned as the woman came closer.
"Yeah it's me Lexi; I just got back into Charming a little while ago. So you married my little brother just like you said you would."
"Yeah I did. This is our second daughter; we have an almost two-year-old named Rose. She was born on Christmas night, you were still away." Lexi told her and Ella looked down at the hospital floor.
"I'm sorry for staying away so long but after finding out that I was pregnant after I got raped was hard. I went away, had the baby and gave him up for adoption. I couldn't handle raising him and knowing what he was a product of. He is being raised in a good home and doesn't know that he is adopted, the couple look just like him." Ella explained to her.
"I get it El, you didn't have to stay away for four years though. I wanted you at the wedding and at Rose's birth. We tried to get ahold of you then but no one could find anything." Lexi responded.
"I'm sorry Lexi, I'm back for good now and while I was away I became a teacher. I start at the high school in September." Ella told her.
"I'm glad that you became a teacher, it's nice to see you doing something good. I hope the teens like you. What are you going to teach?" Lexi asked as Ellie nursed.
Ella smiled "Spanish, that way I can eventually go to Puerto Rico like I always wanted. If I save enough from teaching I can ask to be an ESL teacher there if they have an open position by the time I have enough saved up."
"Sounds like a good plan Ella. I hope everything works out in your favor." Lexi smiled at her sister-in-law as a knock sounded at her door.
"Lexi?" The prospect Juice asked as he walked into the room.
"Yeah?"
"Opie had to leave to go get Rose and Piney, Jax is here. He wants to see you." Juice said nervously. He still wasn't sure of his place just yet around the SAMCRO women.
"You can let him in and just let me know when Opie gets back." Lexi answered, Juice nodded and left the room quickly.
"I think he's a little scared, what did you do?" Ella asked Lexi.
"Nothing he's always been that way around me, I think Jax and Opie might've had something to do with it. Not too sure." Lexi said as Jax walked in.
"How's my baby sister?" Jax asked.
"I'm fine, glad that your niece finally decided to show up. Ella's back too." Lexi told him as Jax took his niece in his arms.
"Little Ellie Hope is just as stubborn as her parents." Ella told Jax, he chuckled and nodded in agreement.
"Let's hope she grows out of it as she gets older. Wouldn't want her to be just like her mom would we?" Jax joked and Lexi stuck her tongue out at him.
"Very funny Jackson, what's wrong with my daughter turning out like me?" She questioned.
"Hey I'm going to wait for Ope and Dad, see if I can meet my other niece before she comes in to meet her new sister." Ella left the twins alone and as she was heading out to the waiting room, she bumped into the frightened prospect.
"Sorry!" they said as they picked themselves up off the floor.
"I'm Ella."
"Juice."
"Nice to meet you, is that your real name?"
"Juan Carlos." He told her and she nodded.
"I like that better than Juice." She told him and smiled at him before walking into the waiting room and saw her father, brother and what must have been her other niece just off to the side of the hallway.
"Hey Dad, long time no see." She said as she walked up to them and held her arms out for a hug from Piney.
"Ella? Are you back for good?" He asked her and she nodded. Piney grabbed her to him and held her close.
"I'm sorry Dad."
"It's fine baby girl, you're here now and that's all that matters. Have you met Rosie?" Ella looked at the little copy of Lexi and shook her head.
"Hey there Rose, I'm your Aunt Ella."
"Hi." Rose said and waved at her, a happy grin on her face.
-September 9th 1999-
"Finally one on time." Lexi chuckled as she held her newborn son Kenny Piermont Winston in her arms. Kenny had shown up on his due date at noon and was 8 lbs. like Ellie but was the shortest of her children at 15 inches long. Lexi handed her son to Opie who smiled down at him and held him close.
"First boy." Opie remarked as he watched his son open his eyes and blink.
"No more for a while okay?" Lexi joked as she pulled her hair back off her neck and into a bun. Opie smiled at his wife of four years.
"I think three in four years is fine." He told her and passed their son back to her so she could nurse him.
