Jessica was greeted at the entrance of the Asylum by a set of guards who didn't seem all to keen on letting her in. It took 15 minutes to convince them she had a meeting with Jeremiah Arkham. Finally a Doctor who knew she had an appointment made them let her through on his way to lunch.

She had to admit the inside of the Asylum surprised her. She'd seen interior shots of it before the rebuild, nothing fancy, just images taken during riots or when a criminal was captures. It had seemed too dark and bleak and... kind of poorly constructed, in her opinion. Definitely not kept up to code. But what does she know about code? Now as she was escorted through the new and improved building... It kind of reminded her of a mall. It was brightly lit with potted plants to create a friendlier atmosphere. As she exited the lobby and entered the inmate holding area she couldn't help but think the cells looked kind of nice. Most of them were empty but they looked kind of like hotel rooms, biggest downside being that aside form the back wall the whole cell was glass affording no privacy for the inmates which she understood. A vast majority of Gothams criminally insane were crafty and probably shouldn't be trusted alone with their own devices. Still, she supposed, there were worse places she could wind up if she went crazy.

She followed her escort to an elevator and to the top floor from there. It looked like this was where all of the doctors stayed. They're private offices and the lounge area alongside other asylum officials. At the very end of the hall was Jeremiah Arkham's office.

Honestly Jessica was a little surprised when she saw him. He was... different thing she expected. Thin and kind of sad looking. He'd sounded so... hopeful on the phone. He certainly didn't look it. Really, he kind of made her uncomfortable but she wasn't about to let an unnerving man turn her away now.

She took her seat once ushered in and they talked a bit about her project. She repeated to him basically what she'd told him on the phone. That she wanted to work with them personally and give them a say. In a way letting them tell the story. She'd always thought it kind of unfair that history is told by the victor and yes, she recognized that the people in these cells had done many terrible things but they still deserved a voice right?

Once he seemed satisfied that she didn't seem to have anything but innocent intentions he pulled out the list of inmates that had expressed interest. This is what she'd been waiting for. Jessica was almost vibrating with excitement. The list was longer then she'd expected. She saw a few names she recognized and many she didn't, though she was disappointed to see that a large portion of the list had been crossed out leaving her with only a few picks from all of her potential options. Some of them like The Joker and Lazlo Valentin, whom she was informed was Professor Pyg upon inquiry, she was relieved to hear wouldn't have been allowed to participated even if she picked them. Ivy and Clayface weren't allowed out of containment and they couldn't risk her taking in plant spores to Ivy's sterilized area so they're participation was forfeit by default. That was too bad. She thought Ivy would have been interesting to work with. Harley too but it it seemed the Joker's girlfriend had lost the privilege when she'd managed to set off a small bomb in the kitchen a few days ago. Many others had been crossed out due to fights or relapses that made them particularly unstable. That left her with only a few real options. She looked over the three names that really stuck out. Jervis Tetch, The Mad Hatter, Jeremiah insisted that the inventor had been doing very well in his recovery, have even stopped asking about 'his Alice". Despite this she was still a little nervous about him, after all she's heard about what he did with Alices. Even though she didn't fit the description she was still a bit reluctant and in truth would rather work with someone a bit more grounded in reality. Next Edward Nigma, The Riddler, he might be interesting. She's heard him described as a narcissist and she could believe it from the few times he'd commandeered the radio waves to get Batman's attention. He would no doubt have something to say about the project. "Ooh!" The last name was really exciting. Harvey Dent. Former District Attorney of Gotham now big time criminal and mob boss Two-Face. It was a bit surprising to see his name there, Jessica didn't think that that someone with his... condition would be interested in something like this. He would be a very interesting subject, not only was he a failed political figure and she had no doubt that would color the decisions he made but a selfish part of her was really excited about the idea of illustrating someone with such a unique appearance.

So it was done. Next Saturday for her first session with Harvey Dent. Now all that was left was a safety briefing to tell her what to do and what not to do while in the Asylum and a Psych Evaluation. After all they don't want any outside loony's coming in and freeing the captive loony's right?

She was so excited she didn't know that she had it in her to get through the week. Part of her was scared, yes. The man she's going to be talking to isn't nice, she knows that and she wasn't expecting him to make this easy for her. As long as she didn't provoke him she should be fine, at least she hoped so.
