Another chapter yaaay!
Well more like finally. Sorry guys about having this up so late. :/
School is a drag.
But its here now so here we go!
Percy
We all stood and watched as Loki was air lifted in to the sky. It took off a minute after I saw a last glimpse of the ladder before it was retracted back in to the huge air ship.
A few minutes later and we were still standing in a vague circle, watching the sky as if we were waiting for it to come back and say "Sorry just kidding!"
Like that would happen.
So I decided to bring up the topic that was probably on everyone's mind. "So how are we going to get out of this place?"
For a few seconds, no one answered. But then Stark interjected. "Wait a second….this is all just one big dome guys. And with a dome, there's an edge."
"What?" Thalia asked blankly.
"I told JARVIS to scan the area for me and he found out that this is a big dome."
I didn't bother asking who the hell JARVIS was and instead wondered on what he just said. We were in a dome? That meant that there had to be a way out.
Bruce shifted his feet and speculated, "Tony, you think you can find out how close we are to the edge from here?"
Stark scoffs. "Of course I can find out!"
There's a silence as Stark does what he does. As I glance over at Bruce, I was startled to find that his eyes were a shocking green. I had always seen them brown before. Never green. I took a moment to think on that but my thoughts were abruptly interrupted when Stark spoke again.
"We're actually not that far away. It's just about half a mile that way." He points directly in front of him.
"Let's go then." The captain says with an air of authority.
We start walking with Stark in the lead. I see Banner helping to carry the man that had jumped Loki in the battle.
It's about a half hour when we get there.
We stop at another clearing in the forest and it doesn't seem like there is anything in front of us.
"It should be right here…but JARVIS is never wrong so it has to be here." Stark says apprehensively.
I walk forward to see if there's anything around us. I lead with my arms stretched out in front of me and soon, I touch something solid. As I touch it though, a shock wave runs through my body and I recoil as I bring my arm back quickly.
"What the hell…?" I mutter.
I extend one finger and touch the barrier once more and this time a smaller, yet still prominent shock wave flows through my finger. I avoid doing it again.
"Guys…" I start to say. "I think we found the edge."
"See I told you, JARVIS is always right!" Stark exclaims smugly.
We all gather around the area that I was standing in. I have a strong feeling that the barrier extends all the way both west and east. I also knew that it was going to be pretty hard to get through.
"So how are we going to break through this thing?" Thalia inquires. "It seems pretty hard…"
"We give it all the firepower we've got, all at once." Rogers stated. "Thor uses his lightning, Stark his repulser rays and Clint your arrows."
I nod in agreement. "Yeah, and Thalia can use her lightning as well and me, my water."
Nico steps forward with a bit of hesitation. "Well if you want to do any real damage, you're going to have to use everything at once."
"Nico's right." agreed Thalia. "We can place ourselves so that we all hit the same area at the same time."
"Tis a good idea." Thor agreed.
The captain took charge once again. "Okay, let's all stand in a circle so that we can hit the barrier right there." He pointed to an area straight in front of him.
We all walked towards where the Cap was standing and formed a small, tight circle. The captain stands back and signals the rest of us to do the same.
I watched as the others backed away and we took our marks. I stood right behind Stark and beside Thalia in the small circle.
"Ok on the count of three, revert all of your power to that area!" shouted the cap. "1,2…3!"
I close my eyes, draw in a breath and let it out as I shoot out a very concentrated, high powered jet stream of water right towards the area that everyone else was shooting at. I feel the uncomfortable yet familiar tug in my gut. Thalia and Thor were sparking the place up with their lightning, Stark had a high powered beam of energy coming out of a glowing thing in the middle of his chest. Barton-the guy with the arrows-was shooting arrow after arrow at the barrier and it would explode on impact.
I kept my heavy stream of water going for at least a good four minutes but it felt more like hours.
"Okay stop!" The captain shouted. We all stopped our firepower and I almost collapsed to the ground from exhaustion. The others didn't look too much better.
"Well? Did that do anything?" Stark asked with an annoyed tone.
"I see a small crack." chimed in Clarrise.
"Yeah I see it too but it's not going to get us outta here." Rachel pointed out.
Nico went up to touch it and before I could warn him, his hair stood on end and he brought his hand back sharply. "Ow shit!" He cradled his hand from the injury.
A few seconds later, Stark speculated, "I had JARVIS scan it again. It's giving off a large amount of energy. JARVIS says he can't identify it."
"Okay," Grover bleated. "Lessson learned. No more touching the invisible wall."
"You should try again." said the only woman who was with the avengers, who I think her name was Natasha.
Just as I was about to agree, I heard the faint sound of a jet in the distance. Confused, I furrowed my eyebrows and looked up at the sky.
As the others heard it, they looked to the sky as well.
We stood watching the sky and slowly I head it getting closer and closer. Finally, I saw the outlines of a raven black jet peek through the canopies of the trees. It was huge and as black as the night sky. It could've been big enough to fill an entire baseball stadium.
It was definitely a lot bigger than the jets that had picked up both Luke and Loki.
Slowly but surely, the jet stopped directly overhead of us and a ladder dropped to the ground. A group of people wearing military attire while holding strange looking guns climb down the ladder.
"What do we do?" Barton whispered.
"Just…stay here. Maybe they just want to talk." Rogers replies.
Barton scoffs but follows the Cap's orders anyways. Because the rest of us don't know what else to do, we follow the orders.
About ten people drop to the ground right in front of us when they are done climbing down the ladder. They stand with their guns pointed at us. We can't see their faces because of the cloth that covered everything but their eyes.
The captain steps forward with his arms raised. "Look, whoever you are, we're not going to kill you." He walks towards them slowly and the men don't do anything.
But just as he's about to extend a hand to shake one of theirs, one of the men shoots his gun at the captain.
My eyes widen as I see something close to that of a taser, is shot towards Rogers. The men shoot at least three of their taser things at him and he jerks violently, like an electric shock is coursing through him before he collapses to the ground.
I hear gasps come from our group. "Steve!" cries Banner.
"What the hell?" Stark shouts out angrily.
The men don't say anything. Banner, Barton and Romanoff step forward looking read to fight. The uniform clad men shoot Barton first. He falls to the ground, writhing until finally falling unconscious.
"Clint!" shouts Romanoff. I see a deadly fire in her eyes as she takes a fighting stance. She attempts to punch one of the men but before she can, another one of them shoot her as well. She falls to ground and doesn't move.
Banner looks like he's got the memo, but just as he is about to transform, he's shot by at least five of the men. He rips a taser out of his back and fights to stay awake.
"Run!" He manages to get out before falling to the ground, laying still.
The rest of us get the clue.
I see the man with the eye path go down in the distance, being at a huge disadvantage with the bad leg. I hate to admit that I ignored him because I couldn't think properly.
All I did was grab Annabeth and run.
"What's happening?" She cries at me as we're running.
"I don't know!"
The men are following close behind us now. Thalia and Nico who were right behind Annabeth and I are taken down by a swarm of uniforms.
In the distance, I see Stark attempt to fly off in his suit but before he can get far, I see a man take out a specialized weapon. It looks bigger and a lot more powerful. He shoots the weapon, and I cringe as it takes its mark and Stark goes down, flailing the entire way. I see sparks shooting from his suit. He falls to the ground hard and his helmet breaks off from his head as he lands and lays unconscious on the floor.
Now all that's left is Rachel, Annabeth, Grover and I but we're hopelessly outnumbered and cornered.
All 12 uniformed men surround us and we stop running, knowing we have nowhere to go. Behind me, I hear Grover let out a whimper.
In the distance, I see still bodies of Half Bloods and Avengers alike, all strewn across the clearing. I knew we were next.
"Why are you doing this?" asks Rachel's pleading voice.
They don't answer and their eyes seem to drill holes into our soul. I reach for Annabeth's hand and she grasps it firmly. I nod at her and she holds Rachel's hand. Rachel grabs on to Grover.
I close my eyes and wait for the blow. Soon enough, I feel the taser hit me as electricity courses through my body. There's unbelievable pain and I lose grip of Annabeth's hand as I fall to the ground, seizing uncontrollably.
I try to fight for consciousness but I know that it's hopeless.
The last thing I see is one of the men hovering over me, eyes dark and void of emotion before I sink into darkness.
And there you have it guys.
So I love any and all reviews you guys give me and if there is anyone who still likes and reads this story please let me know! I love all of your feedback!
