This is quite an out there story as far as the character's back-stories go. Kaname's is the same, and Yuki's is almost completely the same as well. But Zero (+his family's) and Rido's are very different. Though Rido's past is the same in regards to his family so you could say it strays from canon right after the incident ten years prior, when he tries to take Yuki, kills Haruka and Kaname "obliterates" his body. So yeah, let's begin.

He isn't perfect, despite what one would hear from most other members of the Cross Academy night class. His status has afforded him the right to do- well, anything, but deprived him of experiences where he could learn about the dangers of making decisions lightly. Or at least that's how Kaname chooses to rationalize what's happened, because it wasn't his fault, but he'd be damned if he didn't fix it soon. The clutter of hurried footsteps landed too acutely on his ears as the group behind him walked through the Moon Dorms, likely trying to match his pace. If they weren't the closest friends and advisors he had, they would have already chosen to leave, so as to not face his anger. The group had just returned from an exceptionally grating meeting and were all now on edge. Kaname had presented an air of total composure for the general public, though as soon as the doors of his home closed behind him, it was no longer necessary.

So many years he had been there for her, guarding his sweet angel with all his effort and doing his best to keep her happy. He'd let her live the life of a human in Cross Academy, thinking that was best. And it had been, until now.

'… One business call. Three damned days that I was gone! That coward dared take her away!' Fighting back an impending headache as he enters his room, he offers a curt dismissal to the followers who'd trailed behind him, all of which had been offering any ideas that came to their minds, which only served to egg-on his anger. They all give him worried glances, some even throwing in 'assuring' comments like: "we'll get her back!" "He can't be far" and others he paid no mind to. But knowing better than to disturb the furious pureblood any more than they already had, they all step out the door pretty quickly.

Kaname walks to look out his large windows, trying his best to calm down and think rationally about what to do, not why this happened or where the fault lies. This isn't an easy task when Yuki's involved. He puts a closed fist on the window and leans his forehead into it, closing his eyes with a sigh. It's the sound of the wind blowing harshly though leaves outside, which makes him focus his gaze on them. The trees are going to be very productive this year, he notes as his narrowed eyes observe several buds and small fruits. The sky is a satisfying light grey, which he hadn't paid any mind to on their actually comfortable walk to the dorms. His shoulders ease up a bit and the dull ache in his forehead dissipates. He finally closes his eyes again, to erase his glare as well. 'The bastard came with no possible warning. There's no way we could've known… Nonetheless, I was careless' His attempt at civil thoughts is going well so far, though a sudden gleam in the corner of his eye interrupts them. Kaname makes no move other than glancing out of the corner of his eye, through the window. What he sees causes a perplexed expression to replace the passive aggressive one to which he'd grown accustomed. There, on the windowsill, sits a small lamp. It seems old and dull, with a tattered note attached to its side. The only new element about it is a very small, shiny bow that rests on the far side of the object.

Kaname slowly opens the window and picks up the lamp, parting the dusty note from it and holding it with his thumb and index finger, seeing as the metal is very hot. It must have been out for most of the day. Looking closer at the note, he notices that it's ripped at the bottom and the words are a bit covered in something like soot. Kaname brushes the note with his thumb and blows on it softly, trying to make out the elegant words written on it.

Instructions:

Rub the lamp

Make three wishes

He stares back at the lamp in disbelief, scoffing lowly. How foolish. The brunette sets the lamp and note on his desk, with every intention of throwing them away as soon as possible. He'd heard the stories of genies and they were interesting, when he was a kid. But to expect a pureblood with as many years as him to ever believe in such a thing was absurd. Whoever was responsible for this was in for a serious punishment. Kaname smirks, taking a seat and leaning back into the chair… Yeah, he could really use that right now. He needs to relieve some stress. Kaname sighs and straightens his back, running a hand through his hair. What he needs is to get Yuki back, no matter what the cost. 'Though I'm sure my uncle won't harm her, it's still too big of a risk.' Kaname opens his eyes with a sigh, diverting his glance back to the small object on the desk. He leans forward to pick the lamp up again, staring at it quietly.

"It would be nice wouldn't it? To have those wishes come true so easily." Kaname whispers to himself, absentmindedly rubbing his thumb on the lamp's side. After a moment, the pureblood heaves yet another sigh and puts the lamp down. As soon as the object settles on his desk, a cloud of purple smoke completely clouds his vision and fills his lungs. Kaname coughs and would've stood, had he not heard a deep, smooth voice call out to him. "Kaname Kuran… About time." Even with his vision currently lacking and his lungs begging for clean air, he didn't miss the utter annoyance in that tone. The smoke cleared in an instant, as if it was never there to begin with, and Kaname's gaze landed on a pair of glaring lilac eyes. The pureblood's eyes widened as he took in the sight.

Right in front of him, was the creature whose very existence he'd never believed in: A real genie! It's sitting on his desk with its legs and arms crossed. The beautiful silver-haired creature dressed in long baggy pants, cuffed at the ends, and a loose long-sleeved lavender shirt which ended just at the end its ribs, mid-chest. A tattoo that signified its powers was placed on the side of its neck. It sports one golden earring on one ear and two on the other. With silence as the prompt, Kaname composes himself and looks down a bit, to see golden colored shoes that were pointed at the toes. "Enjoying the view?" His eyes snap back up to look into the glaring violet eyes. The creature doesn't seem to like him too much. In fact, he seems to be the angriest inhabitant of the room, which was usually Kaname's title.

He couldn't believe it. He'd actually been assigned to a vampire, and one which completely dismissed his existence! Though they all did, considering no genie had ever served a vampire to his knowledge; and this one seemed to be of the most powerful kind. 'Damn it! This isn't going to be easy… Ugh, I like easy.' Genies only appear to those who really need either help or to be punished, to the genie's discretion. Though most genies would help their master, what with their being so very kind hearted a race. But this one has lived far too long and is much too powerful to go by every rule. He usually does what he pleases until it's time to go back into that blasted lamp, his lovely though reluctant life companion.

Honestly, vampires disgust him, drinking the blood of humans. 'Though I can't really judge much…considering what I like to eat.' He stares at the pureblood, who's spent the past few seconds observing him. If all his shirts weren't midriffs, he'd probably be feeling self-conscious right now. After a moment more of silence, the genie sighs.

"My name is Zero Kiryu. You are my master, Kaname. What is it you desire?"
