It's been way too long since I wrote this flick.. (sorry) teen wolf has gone is such a different direction that I kind of lost track of this in the process. Anyway, I'm going to finish this story up (hopefully without any major plot holes)
Thank you to everyone who reviews and still favs/follows this story even after such a long time of no updates.
Sorry for the amount of jumps in this chapter, just a lot of different things I need to cover coming up to the ending of all of this.
Without any more of a delay here is the next chapter.
Chapter 22: The Set Up
The plan was flawless, or so Scott hoped. He kept playing and replaying what could happen in his head. This could turn out badly for him, but he had to protect everyone. They had to do it today. Tonight was the full moon, and that meant the battle would happen.
Scott was laying in the bed with Derek, it's been three days since the plan was set into motion, and everything came down to this. Scott looked over at his phone. He had exactly ten minutes before Stiles would be waiting for him at the end of the drive way. He had to time this perfectly for it to work.
He wrote a note yesterday at school that was hidden in his coat pocket that he would leave before taking off. Everyone involved, Jackson, Allison and Justin were going to meet up at the school before going off to find the Alpha's camp. They already had a good idea where that would be, so if everything went accordingly they should be fine. Right?
Scott started to slowly scoot his way off the bed while trying to not wake the man net to him. Scott was still in his boxer briefs, he reached down and picked up his jeans from yesterday and a shirt. He debated over going to the bathroom but decided against it.
He could do this. Scott picked up his shoes and quietly left the room. Once out in the hallway he started to slowly make his way to the stairs. A few of the floor boards creaked, and every time Scott froze and listened for Derek.
Scott looked at his phone, two minutes. He made his way to the main floor when he turned and saw Peter. "The fuck" Scott whispered shouted after doing a small jump. "What the hell."
"Well what am I seeing here?" Peter raised his eye brow, "I'm guessing your off to do your own side mission to save everyone from fighting." Scott didn't know what to say back, so he stood there awkwardly, "I know you Scott."
"Are you-" he looked up stairs, "going to tell or get Derek?"
Peter sighed. "While you put me into a position I don't like." Peter smirked, "you have a 20-minute head start, I'm going to kitchen to get breakfast and I didn't see you leave." Peter turned on his heel and walked towards the kitchen.
Scott was a bit confused on what just happened, but he quickly took off either way. Stiles should be waiting for him by the road. Scott opened the door and took off as quickly as he could, while praying that Derek didn't wake.
It didn't take long to get to Stiles. "You're a minute late I thought you got caught." Stiles said as he pealed out.
"I almost did." Scott said while putting his shoes on. "Peter was waiting for my downstairs."
"Is he getting Derek? Will he be behind us?"
"Not yet he won't. He's going to pretend that he didn't see me leave."
"Why would he do that?"
"I have no idea." Scott said before looked out the window at all the trees that they flew by. "Are we doing the right thing?"
Stiles nodded, "You wanted to protect the pack, you said this is the only way to do it."
"Should I have brought Derek into it?"
Stiles grimaced, "I have no idea. It could have gone good or bad." Scott took a deep breath, "No point in thinking about what you could have done. We have a plan to stick to." Stiles reached over and give his friend a should squeeze before putting is hand back on the wheel.
Scott nodded, he couldn't go back. They have to stick to the plan for this to work.
Derek reached out for his mate, but found the bed empty. Derek yawned and sat up expecting Scott to be close by. Derek slowly got up, and dressed before making his way to the kitchen. Scott would normally be down cooking breakfast. When he reached the bottom of the stairs he froze, he couldn't smell Scott anywhere. Derek went into the kitchen where he was hearing noises but stopped when he saw Peter making eggs.
"Hello sleepy head" Peter said.
"Where is Scott?" Peter rolled his eyes and turned to look at Derek.
"And here I thought you were excited to see me." Peter said back with a slight, but completely fake frown.
"Peter?" Derek questioned.
Peter shrugged his shoulders, "Well if he isn't upstairs, then I have no idea where he would be."
"Are you telling me the truth?" Derek asked knowing that he could never tell when the older man told the truth or not.
Peter grinned, "Why would I lie to you?" He then turned back to his eggs. Derek took a deep breath trying to calm himself down.
"Today is not the day for this crap." Derek said before turning around and heading back upstairs. He needed to get dressed before going out to look for Scott. Didn't he know what today was? He is a sitting duck anywhere else but by his side. The alpha pack could attack at any second today, and him taking off to do god knows what complicates his already complicated day.
Derek was getting dressed when he heard the familiar sound of Boyd's car. Derek put his shirt on before heading down stairs to his pack. When he was going down, Isaac came out from his bedroom. "Where's Scott?" Isaac asked with a confused looked.
Derek groaned in frustration before the front door opened. Boyd and Erica walked in together, "Hi everyone." Boyd said as he shut the door.
Erica looked around and frowned, "Where is Scott?" Derek growled this time before going into the kitchen. "What did I do?" Erica asked before looking up at Isaac.
"No idea." Isaac said before going down the stairs himself.
"Something has got his panties in a bunch."
"I can hear you guys," The three of them looked at each other before they heard, "Get into the kitchen." They quickly followed Derek's command.
Stiles and Scott showed up at the high school parking lot, and parked behind the building so if anyone passed by they wouldn't see the cars. Allison, Justin and Jackson were already waiting. "Your late" Justin said as the two boys got out of the car. Allison lightly hit Justin, "What, they are." He said back.
"Got held up." Scott said. "But I got it covered."
"Let's get this started before the pack starts looking for you." Jackson said.
"Alright," Stiles pulled out a map and put it out on his Jeep. "So the pack land is off limits to the alpha pack," Stiles said outlining the town. "I'm roughly guessing this is the pack's boundaries." He said outlining the town limit.
"That looks about right." Jackson said, "we've traveled the boundary line when training."
"Good, so we can rule out them staying there." Allison said as she looked at the map. "How do we think they are traveling? Would they be staying in a house or a motel?"
"From what I've gotten about them I wouldn't think a motel." Scott said. "They are imbedded in legend and tradition."
"The forest." Jackson added. "If there is anything I've learned the past few weeks it's that we are connected to nature. If I was a pack of alphas I would stay out in it all that time."
"That's what I was thinking." Scott said.
"Good so," Stiles circled the map, "They could be anywhere."
Justin jumped in, "They will stay away from normal camp grounds, so we can mark those out."
"The river would be good for water, so they wouldn't be far from one." Allison added pointing to the river on the map.
"They also wouldn't be too far from the edge of the boundary. If I was them I would be as close as I could without passing the line." Jackson said, and I would want to be close to the house since that's where our pack is."
Stiles looked at the map, "Here." He said adding a smaller circle. The circle wasn't too far from the house, a little bit outside the boundary and close enough to the river that they could get water. "This is perfect for them they will be here or close to it."
"Let's get going then." Justin said.
"We all know the plan." Scott said looking between everyone.
"Yes we've run through it many times Scott." Allison said back with a light smile. "We'll try to stick to it, but we all know improvising may happen."
"I know," Scott said. "I'll meet you all there."
Jackson stepped in, "I'm coming with you, just in case something happens." Scott nodded and they took off.
Stiles turned to the other two, "Do you need a ride?"
"No we'll meet up on 36, and park over at the rest stop nearby." Justin said before heading over to their vehicle.
Stiles nodded, "You don't have to be there" Allison added in. "We got it from here out."
"No, I want to be there. I'm always good for a distraction if needed."
Allison smiled sadly, "I just don't want anything bad to happen to you." She shrugged.
"We'll be fine. Just don't miss." He said before getting into his jeep.
Allison nodded and watched him start his vehicle up before going over to the car they brought. "What was that about?" Justin asked.
"What do you mean?" she asked.
"That." He pointed to the jeep driving away and her, "what was that I don't want you to get hurt stuff?"
"Nothing," she said before opening the door and getting in.
"Nothing my butt." Justin said to himself before getting into the car and starting it up. They peeled out of the parking lot not long after that.
"Where is Jackson?" Erica asked as the pack sat at the table eating the breakfast Peter cooked.
"Yea, shouldn't he be here?" Isaac asked as he gulped down eggs. "He's started to come around more lately too."
"Well fancy that, both Scott and Jackson are missing at the same time." Peter said with a slight smirk on his face. "And on today of all days."
"Peter," Derek put down his fork, "What do you know?" Derek looked at the other wolf. "I know you know something you're not telling me. You seem hell bent on rubbing whatever you know in my face, so out with it."
Peter turned his attention to the rest of the pack, "While you calling me out, I think you should be asking the others what they know." He said looking between the faces of the younger park members.
"What?" Derek asked confused.
"Well I'm sure by now Scott has told them something about their plan."
"What Plan?" Derek looked at the other three and instantly noticed how tense the room got. The other three were looking down at their food while trying not to make any eye contact with their alpha. "Alright, I feel like the odd man out in my own pack. Someone better start talking before I make each and every one of you tell me and it won't be pleasant."
"We don't know much." Isaac said, "Just that Scott and Stiles were meeting up with Allison to see if she had information on how to take out the alpha pack before the fight tonight."
"When did this happen?" Derek asked wondering this would be kept from him.
"Early this week." Boyd answered with grimace.
"Anything else?" Derek looked at the last of the group.
"Jackson and Scott were hanging out at school lately and they missed a few classes." Erica added in before frowning.
Derek took a deep breath, "Why didn't anyone tell me?" His eyes were closed and his body was completely tense as though he was trying to hold himself back.
The three looked at each other, "well Scott asked to keep it a secret." Isaac added.
"I thought that if they found something out, we would already know about it." Erica added while watching Derek's reaction.
Derek's eyes finally opened, and they were blood shot red. "Stay here." He said before getting up and taking off in a blink of an eye. They sat there seemly frozen in place.
"What was that?" Isaac asked looking at the group with wide eyes. "Derek was like… crazy Derek."
"A pissed off alpha." Peter said with a smirk. "Don't want to be on the other side of that."
"Scott is in for something he doesn't want." Boyd said, "Derek is not happy with him."
Scott? Think about Jackson." Isaac said, "Derek might tear him up."
"Should we really just let this happen? Shouldn't we… I don't know step in?" Isaac asked.
"Give it 10 minutes, then we will go out looking for them." Peter said to them.
"But he told us to stay." Erica said.
"If Scott and Jackson are going where I think they are; Derek is going to need back up." Peter said to the group. Everyone fell silent as what he said sunk in.
Stiles stopped by his house on his way there. He was nervous, and nervous Stiles meant he had to go to the bathroom. He didn't show his anxiety, but it was there. There was so many different things that could go wrong; he only hopped that everything would go right. Knowing their streak, something was bound to go wrong though.
Stiles was washing his hands when he heard his front door swing open. What in the world was going on? Before he had time to investigate, or grab a bat, the bathroom door flew open and Derek was standing in front of him.
"Oh shit." Stiles said by the look on Derek's face he knew he was in deep shit. Derek looked like he was ready to kill, and Stiles didn't appreciate being on the other end of that.
"Stiles," Derek said in a strained voice, "talk"
Stiles nodded, "Before I go any further, you have to remember even in this anger induced state that if you killed me Scott will never forgive you." Stiles was up against the wall while still trying to back up away from the angry alpha.
"Only if he finds out about it." Derek said back.
"Well that's not good." Stiles said before trying to duck underneath Derek. Derek quickly grabbed him and put him back up against the wall where he was. Stiles grimaced when his back hit the wall. "God Derek, I'm not one of your little wolves, you're going to really hurt me."
"Tell me where he is." Derek said
"I can't." He said
Derek's eyes flashed red, "Do you really want to tell me something like that right now?"
"I'll take you there okay." Stiles said.
"What?"
"Well I can't let you go willy nilly into the plan without knowing what is going on. You're going to mess everything up."
"So there is a plan." Derek said more to himself then other boy.
"Of course, we're not stupid Derek. Let me go and I'll drive us over there."
Derek considered what he was saying and nodded. He closed his eyes for a second and the redness went away and was replaced with his natural eye color.
"Has anyone ever told you that you are scary when you go all Alpha?"
Derek rolled his eyes, "Stop trying to make everything alright and take me to Scott."
"I am." Stiles said as the two of them started to go down Stiles' hallway. "You better be able to fix anything you broke along the way."
"If we survive today, I'll put it on the top of my to-do list."
"Fair enough."
"Where is he?" Allison asked as she looked down at her watch again. "He should have made it before us."
"Maybe he changed his mind." Justin said with a shrug.
"It's not like him to do that." Allison said. She pulled out her cell phone again, no missed calls or text messages, this was unlike him. Did something happen?
"We don't have all day to wait on him." Justin said. "If we are going to do this, we need to do this now."
Allison nodded turned to her brother, "Let's do this then." He was right, after they did what they needed to, they could search for Stiles. She just hoped he wasn't hurt.
Justin popped the trunk and they got out their weapons and stocked up on anything extra just in case. Once they packed up, Justin shut the trunk and turned to Allison. She looked worried. He put his hand on her shoulder, "You got this," Justin said. "If anyone can make the shot then you can."
Allison half smiled, "And if I don't then I know you got it." Justin nodded to tell her he would. She took a deep breath to calm herself down before she made her way the forest with Justin right behind her.
She didn't walk for long before she ran into Scott and Jackson. They were already waiting for them.
Scott looked confused, "Where is Stiles?"
Allison shrugged, "I don't know, he said he would be here."
Scott bit his lip. Is Derek already on their tale? He shook his head, stick to the plan. This just meant they had to work harder to get this done right. "Hey, so what do we have?" Justin asked Jackson.
"There is about 15 of them." Jackson said
"That's a lot of werewolves." Justin said.
"Yea, I told you who William is." Scott said to the two of them. When you get the shot take it.
"Will do, where should we set up?"
"Their camp isn't far from here." Scott nodded behind him and they took off in the direction he pointed. It wasn't long until they reached the edge of a clearing. Bellow there was what looked like a camp ground. There were many tents, and even a few children running around.
"They have… family." Allison said watching them.
"Doesn't mean they are good." Scott said. "I felt the same way when I first saw, but they are threating to kill me and the pack, and they attacked Stiles' place."
"Alright," Allison said, "We are only attacking the alpha."
"Right." Scott said. "No harm to the others here."
Jackson nodded, "Are we ready?"
"Can we leave now?" Erica asked looking at the group. "If Peter is right, then it's going down. If it's going down, then I want to be a part of it. We have been training for this for weeks."
"If there was ever a time to not follow what Derek said, then this is it." Isaac added in before standing up.
Peter looked at them, "Yes it's been long enough. Now we can't run off by ourselves. We need to stay together."
"Why?" Boyd asked.
"We don't want to be separated, if that happens we will be an easier target."
"Makes sense." Isaac added in. "So stay in formation, everyone watches over each other." They nodded before getting up. Peter stood up and followed, everything was going just as he planned.
An: and there is the end of this chapter. Now before anyone get's upset next chapter will be up shortly. My brain hurts from writing college papers (I hate em), so I'll be writing more soon (I hope by next week). Let me know what you think (or if anyone is still reading this (O.o)
