The Time Lord Who Came To Tea

Hey guys, this is the next instalment in my Amy/Rory series, and next week is the episode I have been dreading...

Also, shall I write more of these to centre on Series 5/6 episodes? Let me know!

It was the year of the slow invasion, and Rory was cleaning. He was wiping all the surfaces and washing the dishes. Amy walked up behind him, gently wrapping her arms around her husband. She was clearly pleased with what he had done and he smiled as he faced toward the kitchen window.

"Good job, mister!" she laughed as he turned to face her, folding his arms around her with a loving stare. She reciprocated the stare very quickly.

"Civilisations saved, surfaces wiped. What more could any woman ask for?"

Rory, as always, laughed off Amy's appreciation. But, just for once, she wanted to make it clear how much his efforts meant to her.

"I mean it!"

A short but special kiss followed. Amy and Rory both loved those moments when they had time to spend together. Small but precious moments that reminded them they always had each other, so everything would always be fine.

"Where's the Doctor?" Rory asked.

"On the Wii again..." Amy replied before walking and stopping at the entrance to the living room. Rory swiftly followed and held her hands as they watched a fascinating site; an alien playing virtual tennis. The Doctor had come to stay to 'monitor the cubes' as he put it, but he found it hard to live a normal life. Amy sometimes remembered when her life was like that...how times have changed...

Rory watched the Doctor excitedly playing tennis for a few minutes and thought about what it must be like to be the Doctor. All that information in your head! That desire to explore every inch of the marvellous Universe constantly eating away at you all the time, never stopping.

He then remembered the night before when they were having tea together.

The Doctor was mixing his noodles faster and faster, a look of awe on his face.

"Fascinating food, noodles. You just can't get to grips with them- AMAZING! I met a man called Noodle once...he fancied me. So did Pickle, but I really won't go there."

"Good." Amy said, "We don't want to hear about all those awkward stories!"

"You can talk, little Miss Bunk bed!"

Rory looked at Amy with a start.

"DOCTOR!" she shouted at him.

"What? I said bunk beds were cool, but you two took it to a WHOLE new level...literally..." the Doctor said calmly. Rory and Amy were both in shock.

Rory leant towards Amy and whispered.

"HOW MUCH did you tell him?"

"It was strictly CONFIDENTIAL!" she whispered back.

"I can hear you, you know." the Doctor said.

"Just shut up a minute, will you?" Amy said.

"I'm trained to detect the smallest of noises. A race called the Alzians- CRACKING bunch!- always communicated with a whisper. I always lost at 'Simon Says' with them, especially when Simon didn't turn up once. THAT was a weird night..."

Amy and Rory were both appalled and entranced with the Doctor's tale.

"Actually, speaking of that bunk bed incident, I need to give you your outfits back."

Amy glared at the Doctor, but he misinterpreted what the look signified.

"Don't worry, I washed them! I needed to."

"I am never eating tea with you again." Rory snapped before continuing with his noodles. Amy gave him an apologetic stare, which he returned with a smile.

"I'm going for a bath." Amy said, letting go of Rory's hands. Rory left the Doctor to his fun and continued cleaning.

Little did they know the slow invasion was about to speed up...
