Chapter 7 - And So It Began
Morgan and JJ walked past the snoring guard and made it up to Reid's apartment. They knocked nervously at the door, hoping the younger agent would hear them. The apartment was quiet, very quiet. At first they thought spencer must be sleeping off the events of this morning. But, after several more attempts, the decision was unanimous.
"Well if your going to kick in his door, at least try the handle first." JJ said slyly.
The door was unlocked, the handle turned easily in Morgan's hand, and this was definitely a problem.
The apartment was dark, unnervingly dark. The curtains were closed and stacks of books piled up and garbage or blankets or something smelling rancid laced the floors of the living room. It didn't seem the them Reid has left his place, other than to work, in a long time.
"Spence!" JJ shouted as she started to trudge back to the young man's bedroom, hoping it was better than the mess out there.
Morgan, covering his mouth, began to move and look around the room; because there was something, that he could feel in his chest, that was wrong.
"He's not here." JJ exclaimed coming back out to meet Morgan, "some of his clothes are in the bathroom and it stinks of vomit but that's all there it."
"There's no way he could go anywhere in the state he was in this morning." Morgan looked at JJ, "let's go ask the guard if he saw him."
"What the hell do you mean he left with his girlfriend!" Morgan yelled angered at the nervous man in front of him, "He doesn't have one!"
"whoa Morgan, relax." JJ said pushing Morgan slightly away from the guard, "can you describe the woman you say doctor Reid left with."
"I don't have to, I have it all on camera." The guard said pointing to the blinking security camera iOn the ceiling in the corner of the room.
'Oh thank god.' JJ sighed with a flickering of relief.
My spencer was fast asleep in the back of my van on the way to his new home. I bound his hands together just in case, but the dose of tranquilizer I gave him should last the several hour trip to our destination. Oh, my little doctor, you don't know it yet but our fun is just starting. I just hope you will last long enough to see the end.
