Chapter 15
Ciel's POV
Time slipped past as if though it held no barrier respective to man. A laughable aspect to the current situation, one that remained un necessary.
Tension grew within immobilized moments, loosening my readied stance, and steady reasoning. I clenched my teeth in hesitation.
"You really are a curious little pest , aren't you, Ciel Phantomhive?" the man stood awkwardly, holding his sides in delight as he struggled with contained laughter, "A vermin of today's society. What must it take to rid you of this world?"
A cold sneer ripped through his throat as he regained composure, eyes meeting my gaze with confidence as he strode toward me slowly. The world around us seemed to dissolve into bits of fractured glass. As much as I would never admit it, my mocking demeanor grew to one of clenching anxiousness.
In slow movements, 'Nekozawa' trailed his fingers a long his hood, carefully revealing the face of a murderer. A teen with a pale complexion, and dark hair, enlightened dull orbs of dark blue stared intensely at my features.
In a moment of stubborn pride, I held back my fear finding the courage to speak.
"Well if anything, it'll take much more than a pathetic monster such as you-"
I fell to my knees. My stomach twisting in un comfortable knots that burned within my insides. My mind wandering what had happened as I gasped for breath. The bastard had kicked me in the stomach.
"A pathetic monster?! Is that what I appear to be?!" ,the enraged teen hissed with laughter as he bent slowly to my level, his words scraping venomously to my ear, "I aught to have you look into the mirror Phantomhive, for that pitiful accusation you throw to me holds nothing but your name below it. You yourself are a murderous villain! Is it your pride that holds you from seeing so?"
I struggled to stand, but he restrained me to my current position with a single shove. His hand snaked slyly around my neck as he began to apply pressure.
"You have no meaning of comprehension to understand all of the pain you have lead to many, perhaps thousands. It is thanks to you that my family has lost everything. Our wealth, our pride, our means of survival. Damned is all it is!" he huffed madly as his grip tightened violently, my vision blurred with spots of vicious stars and curtains of exploded white, and black, "This is why my dearest pest, that I have found it upon myself to bring you as well to an end. If only I knew it were this easy to destroy you. Maybe then I wouldn't have faltered t- oof!"
I kicked him backwards with a harsh force. My actions stumbling him off balance, as he let go of my neck leaving me to wheeze for breath.
Suddenly, a quick figure hurtled to his side throwing him off balance as he fell to the ground. Above him stood Sebastian. Eyes narrowed as usual, a sneer pulled at his features warping his expression to one of distaste.
"How quick of you to claim that assumption, Umehito Nekozawa." the foot Sebastian held over the fallen teen's chest held him harder against the floor, as if though crunching a bug in disgust, "Such a runny mouth like your father. What a shame."
Nekozawa struggled helplessly against the solid hold as he laughed mockingly to Sebastian's words.
"This has nothing to do with my father you fiend!" within labored breaths, he uttered words beneath the concealment of his breath a dull light of purple began to shine from his chest as Sebastian drew back expectantly.
Within moments, the light exploded into shards of debree. Shap metal scrapped my skin, covering my face, and limbs in several cuts that itched and burned.
The cry of the trapped guests within the ball room grew higher in volume, but was soon muffled as more explosions were lit off. Glimpses of the host club, and whirling gowns rushed even harder against the stubborn exits that wouldn't budge.
Sebastian dodged the obstacles quickly, as he ran towards me in a light motion.
He called out hurriedly, as he huffed me over his shoulder, "Master, we must evacuate. It seems he has grown desperate and is exerting the capability of his powers."
My eyes looked about wildly. The doors were still stubborn as they were before, however as more explosions shook the room they were growing to be more obedient to the pushing of the horrified people who pushed, and shoved against it.
"What about them, Sebastian? What will happen to them?"
My butler had already began to ascend to the top beams, obviously making a break to the glass dome above, that would lead as our exit.
"All will perish, my lord. The over use of our subject's power is similar to a fuse."
My eyes widened. That would mean the whole building would explode. Taking the lives of the host club, and the invited.
I hollered out as Sebastian reached the top beam, "We can't just leave them here! We ca-"
It was then the last of the detonations blew, one of an intense force that left my ears ringing numb in irritation.
I barely noticed as we crashed through the glass to freedom that night.
I barely noticed as the building below us crumpled. It's crushed posture matching the lives of all those who were reduced to torn limbs, and ashes.
The case of the Phantom Murderer had reached its conclusion.
However, so had my trust in others as well.
It was then that I found myself having a colder look upon the help of accomplices. So many secrets will have been tied deep within a heart that no longer showed emotion. That beating organ holding me as its owner.
END OF SECRETS
A/N: I would love to thank each and every body who has Followed, Favorited, or Reviewed throughout the process of this story. Alas it has come to an end, and I am grateful to have so many people who have stuck around to its ending.
I have to be honest , and say that it has been hard ever since the beginning to write chapters for this story considering I was writing chapters based on the previous one, and simply winging it from there.
Nonetheless, the surprising feedback I have had from this story has been what kept me going.
All is, and has been deeply appreciated.
