Chapter 3

3rd POV

Angela moved closer to Bella's side, her hands twitching and face pinched in worry. "Bella? I'm worried." She mumbled as her eyes flickered between her friend and the aliens. Angela knew she said that she would help save their crew members and the earth but it didn't mean she wasn't terrified of them.

"It's okay Ang, they'll keep us safe." Isabella murmured back while gesturing to the men before her.

Sighing, Angela shook her head, "I'm worried about them! Bella, they're aliens and they terrify me, if they can kill one of those beasts what do you think they could do to us!" She whispers hysterically causing Isabella to stop in her tracks and face her friend.

"Go on without us, we'll catch up." She tells Emmett and Peter when they stopped to look at her to see if anything was wrong. They nodded and continued to walk in a slower pace not wanting to be too far away from being able to protect them but far enough away to not hear the conversation.

"Why didn't you tell me sooner? Benjamin, do you feel the same way?" Bella asked her friends, slightly ashamed at not being able to see the discomfort in her friends.

Nodding, Ben let out a huff of air. "Yes, their bigger than us Bella and their planet is dying and I know they may sound honourable but what happens when they leave if they are able and return to their planet with stories of ours? Will we be invaded and slaved or… I don't know… I'm just worried but if you trust them Bells, then I'll be okay but just think about it."

Running her fingers through her hair, Bella let out a harsh huff. "Okay, look I know you guys are worried but they are the only hope to save us. I am worried but I get the feeling I can trust them. They have saved us twice now and they didn't need to, hell they could have let us die when that beast attacked and I think that gives them merit in my books." She tells them, her fingers twitching nervously. She was worried about the whole what would happen after like ben but everything screamed in her to trust them.

"You're right Bella, but they just make me nervous. This whole situation does; especially the rainforest… and where is everyone? This part of the island has thousands of people and yet all we have come across is a dog and them." Angela exclaimed while gesturing to around her, both Bella and Ben shared a stunned look. They didn't even think about the people or wonder why there was no one else trying to call for help or attack.

"She has a good point; maybe we should ask them more about what happened to the people of Siron. They did say that the forest devoured everything." Bella mumbled before taking off in a jog to where Peter and Emmett had stopped, the woman lying unconscious still at their feet.

"What happened to the people of Siron?" She demanded as she came to a stop in front of them.

"Sorry?" Emmett asked, his brows pulled down in confusion.

"What. Happened. To. The. People. Of. Siron?" she asked, punctuating each sentence. "There is no one around. We haven't come across any other survivors and Ben found me as we live next to each other and Angela lived down the street from us. Ever since we came to the very edge of this invading woodland all we have seen besides you both, that beast and her, is a dog. A dog! But no other humans so tell me Emmett, what happened to the people of Siron?"

"We are unsure to be exact; those that survived had said that the wildlife had done it. The plants themselves, not the animals but it never used to be like this. Siron has been abandoned for nearly a hundred years now and before that it was a thriving population. My father used to tell me stories when I was a boy about the planet, there have been many speculations but nothing to be exact and those who survived has kept tight lipped in fear." Emmett explained truthfully, before sighing.

Guilt churned in his stomach for the damage he has done, he should have just come up with something to help his planet than going to Siron. Now not only is his race in danger but he may very well be the person who wiped out the human species. He has shamed his family by such recklessness, shamed his people or the mass genocide of this planets native species of people.

"It isn't your fault." Bella stated seriously as she saw the crushing guilt on his face; it was an expression she has seen many times. "You didn't know you were going to crash and you didn't know that there was a bug on the piece of land you picked up. Yes you could have done more checks but no, you cannot take blame on this. It is an act of nature, and we'll never fully understand it." She quoted causing Ben and Angela to laugh.

"The happening really? But she has a point, this is something that cannot be explained and was out of your control." Angela stated before jerking her head down at the woman, "Maybe what she's suffering through happened to the people of Siron, maybe they couldn't handle the toxins in what is doing this and died from it or they turned out like this and died from starvation or killed each other. Maybe you're species has a higher tolerance as well to the poison and this is the reaction instead of death." She explained thoughtfully before looking to Bella.

"We really need to get to a lab, we need to see if this disease is something that would kill us or not." She explained in a rush causing Isabella to nod.

"Quick, this way then." She gestured before taking off towards the direction of the university, Emmett and Peter on their tales, both thinking over what Angela and Bella had said. Hopefully that they had a high immune system to the disease or they would surely perish if they got sick, hopefully if that was the case there would be a cure.
