What was the last lie you told?

"Do you still care about Elena?" The question is quiet and Elijah doesn't look at him when he asks. Unsure of how to react, Damon falls back on his standby-a crooked smirk and a sarcastically playful demeanor.

"Why, are you the jealous type?" He lets his hands rest on the Original's shoulder, knowing Elijah won't smack him away. Not anymore.

"Damon." The older vampire's voice is still quiet, but this time it has a hint of steel in it, and the raven knows he's expecting an answer. Staring at the Original, seeing him vulnerable for the first time ever, he does the one thing he's beyond skilled at doing.

"No Elijah. I don't care about Elena anymore." And before the Original can question him further or see the indiscretion in his eyes, he swoops down and kisses him and hopes that it's enough to make up for his lie.
