Rio the series 2

Chapter 11 The final battle

Today was a quiet peaceful day in the Jungle of Rio, home of the samba Birds and the last blue macaws on Earth. The weather was quiet warm today, so Jewel decided to take her family out. As for Blu, he decided to go somewhere with Rico. No one knows why or where.

Jewel arrived at Rafael's tree to see her friends and give their kids a play date. "Rafael, Eva, you guys in?" Jewel called.

The two Toucan lovebirds flew out of their tree to greet Jewel.

"Ola, Jewel." Rafael greeted.

"Good to see you." Eva smiled.

"You too, how you both been?" Jewel inquired.

"We're doing great. Where's Blu?" Rafael asked when he noticed her mate was nowhere present.

"He went out somewhere, I don't really know where." Jewel answered with a slight shrug.

"Well, make yourself at home Jewel." Rafael offered with a smile.

"Thanks." Jewel thanked with a nod as she allowed her children to go and play with Rafael's kids for a while.

Meanwhile, somewhere else among the Jungle, Blu and Rico stood opposite each other, preparing to practice Blu's combat skills. Rico was trying to teach Blu some off his skill moves for the future in case they got into trouble again.

"Ready?" Rico asked.

"Ready." Blu nodded.

"Right, left, Right, block!" Rico ordered, as he threw multiple swipes towards him.

"Ah!-Whoa!" Blu panicked, dodging the hawk's attacks. He luckily dodged all his attacked and quickly moved back, almost falling over in the process.

"Nice job." Rico said, putting his wings back to his sides.

"Wow that feels, kinda good." Blu said in between breaths.

"It's all about self-defense." Rico explained.

"Can you also tell how do you always get out of cages?" Blu inquired, always wanting to figure out that one of Rico's skills.

"That, I cannot tell." Rico smirked.

During the following day, it was a quiet peaceful night in the Jungle. The Blue Macaw family was all outside, the tree, but they had no idea that six figures were watching them from inside a bush.

Blu leaned against the tree with Jewel, leaning her head on his shoulder.

"Such a beautiful night." Jewel sighed, snuggling into his feathers.

"Yeah." Blu agreed.

As the family enjoyed the peaceful sky, bam! Two yellow and blue Macaws tackled Blu and Jewel. Rey, Azul and Crystal quickly tried to escape, but a third gangster blocked their way. Jessica, whom had not been spotted yet, quickly hid behind a tree.

"Ah!" Blu screamed.

"Let us go!" Jewel demanded.

More yellow and blue macaws jumped in, two of them grabbed Blu's wings and held him down while two more grabbed Jewel's wings and held her still and each placed a talon on her leg and the third one wrapped his wings abound Jewel's neck to prevent her from moving. It took all three of them to prevent her from moving.

"Let me go!" Jewel demanded, trying to get her wings free from their talons.

"Wait, these are Johnny's boys!" Blu said when he recognized them.

As the two continued to struggle, one of them tied a bit of rope Blu and Jewel's beaks to stop them from screaming.

"That should stop them from talking." a Gangster said, adjusting his grip.

"Boss we got em!" another Macaw said.

"Good work men." Johnny praised, as he emerged from the shadows.

Johnny the snake is known to be Rio's worst gangster with all his men. His entire men are macaws with light Yellow and Blue feathers, but as for Johnny, his feathers were slightly darker, he is a few inches taller than his men, and has a scar over his left eyed. Johnny touched down and grabbed Blu's throat.

"Well, this was easier than expected." Johnny said with a grin

"What do you want from us? Just let us go." Blu mumbled.

"I don't want you, my employer does. Men take the macaws back." Johnny ordered.

"What about the children?" a Gangster asked.

"Tie them to the tree and go." Johnny said, while picked up a rag and held it to Blu's beak which was in fact sleeping toxic.

Blu fell asleep within seconds. Johnny did the same to Jewel and then one of the gangsters put the kids to sleep and picked up the blue macaws and left the area. After the Gangster had dispersed, Jessica peaked out from the tree to see they were gone.

"I got to get, Uncle Rico!" Jessica said, flapping her little wings towards Rico's tree hollow.

Hours had passed since he was kidnapped, and Blu finally woke up after being drugged and saw he was in a cage and he was tied up with rope around his body and talons. He looked out the bars in an abandon hanger next to an airplane

"Blu?" a familiar voice spoke up.

Blu looked to his left and saw Jewel, who was also tied up in the same way but she still had rope around her beak.

"Jewel, you okay?" Blu inquired as he tried to lean up.

"Mm-hum." Jewel nodded for Blu understand.

"Oh the pretty birds are awake now." a too familiar voice greeted.

Before Blu could blink, Nigel perched himself on top of the cage. Nigel was alive? But that was impossible.

"Johnny and I got talking, and we agreed to help each other." Nigel explained with an evil smile on his beak. "And this time, I've got back up and you're all tied up and caged, and no one is coming to help you." He rubbed his wings together. "Now time for revenge,"

Nigel opened the cage and pulled Blu out and began to perform all painful moves, punching, tossing, and scratching him while Jewel could only watch helplessly as she tried to get free.

Back in the Jungle, Jessica had informed Rico what happened and he had assembled a strike time. Once everyone was together, he stood on a tree branch and watched over everyone to check to if everyone was here. He got all the military macaws he could but they were less due to the gangster escaping. He got every available bird that was willing to fight. After everyone arrived, on the ground, Nico, Pedro, Rafael, Lev, 112, he stood on the ground with Lenny.

"Okay, everyone I may be the Captain of the military macaws but commander Rico here is in charge. Rico They are all yours." Lenny said, moving aside for Rico to walk forward.

"Commander Rico I like that name...Thanks Lenny. Okay, everyone here?...Good, now I'm sure everyone's aware what happened last night, if you don't, I'll fill in the blanks. Johnny the snake and his boys kidnapped are Blu and Jewel last night and we have to get them back. We have one of Johnny's men at the moment and we have him tied up and men interrogating him now." Rico explained.

Rico flew a few feet away and saw two military macaws (Davis and Mike) trying to make one of the Gangsters talk. "Has he talked yet?" Rico asked.

"No sir, but he's weaken." Davis replied, turning to Mike.

"Tell me, what I want to know or I will have my friend's babies rip those feathers out one by one." Mike threatened, referring to Rafael's offspring.

"Okay, okay, I'll talk! My boss said we were taken them to an evil cockatoo!" the Gangster confessed, the fear of losing his feathers made him talk.

"Nigel..." Rico growled. He knew there was no-one different. "Where did they take them?"

"To some abandoned hanger at an airport-that's all I know!" The Gangster screamed.

"Lenny, get the men. We've got their location, let's go!" Rico called to the captain.

All the birds assembled together and flew in the direction where the gangster had told them to go. Rico flew as the leader with his friends and army. He spoke to himself as he took the lead. "We're coming guys, hang on."

Back at the abandoned hanger, Nigel tossed Blu at the airplane wall, causing him to drop on his stomach. He marched forward and prepared to hurt him further.

"Leave him alone!" Jewel mumbled, trying to pull herself free from her restraints.

"Shut it! I'm enjoying myself!" Nigel yelled.

"You know, I'm bored just watching you here." Johnny told him with his wings crossed.

"Then have some fun too. There is another blue macaw in the cage, have some fun with her." Nigel suggested, referring to Jewel nearby. "Try not to hurt her too much though; I'd hate to see that pretty face of hers get messed up.

Hearing what Nigel had suggested, Jewel panicked and squirmed around madly.

"If you insist." Johnny agreed, as he made his way towards her. He opened the cage and grabbed Jewel, pulling her out of the cage and dropping her against the plane roof.

Nigel picked Blu up and slammed him against the wall. He chuckled in a mocking tone. "Does it hurt?"

Blu coughed multiple times like he had been smoking. "Nigel...Please...Stop." Blu begged with his eyes closing.

"Oh you want mercy? I'll have to think about that." Nigel said with a grin.

Johnny walked over to Jewel, and placed his hand against her chest.

She turned her head, waiting for the pain. She mumbled and struggled further. "Don't you dare!"

"Hmm, now, why would I do that now? I'd hate to mess up that pretty face." Johnny replied, gripping her throat and forcing her to watch towards her helpless husband.

"Now pretty bird time to die!" Nigel told him and grabbed Blu to the plane wing. He waited for one of the Gangsters turned the engine on before taking Blu to one of the propellers.

Blu panicked and tried to grasp onto the wing with his tied together talons but Nigel grabbed his throat and tried to force him in to the propellers.

"Nigel please don't!" Blu begged.

"Now you will feel the pain I did." Nigel growled viciously.

"Blu!" Jewel muttered.

Blu, knowing that his time was over; leaned up to see his loved one once more time. "Jewel, before I do, know that I love you and always will."

"I love you too." Jewel mumbled with tears dropping down her eyes.

"Aw, love such a stupid thing. Now any last words before you die?" Nigel asked, as Blu's head was inches from the plane propellers.

"Don't do it." Blu answered.

Nigel moved his head as in "Very funny" kind of expression. "Anything else?"

"You'll never get away with this!" Blu yelled.

"Oh but I will." Nigel chuckled, as he pushed Blu's head down even more, causing the propellers to cut off one of his head feathers.

"Nigel, please, let's just talk about this!" Blu pleaded, trying to negotiate.

"You want to talk? Because of you, I lost all of my feathers, got beaten by birds and monkeys, and I had to spend weeks in a hospital, but don't worry now, all that will be paid here." Nigel said, refusing his offer.

"No!" Blu screamed, shutting his eyes tightly.

Just as Blu closed his eyes awaiting death, the propeller stopped spinning, causing Nigel to groan in frustration.

"What happened to the power, I was having fun?" Nigel asked annoyed.

"Da, da, daaaaaa!" a voice yelled.

Rico suddenly came out of nowhere and tackled Nigel away, causing Blu to drop to the floor. The other birds arrived and engaged in combat with each other, a full scale war between the wild life and the gangsters.

Rico got off Nigel and dragged Blu back and proceeded to untie him. "You okay, Blu?"

"I'm fine; you came at the right moment." Blu answered gratefully.

As the battle continued, Blu got back up and flew over to Jewel, who was still lying in the middle of the floor, watching the battle between the military and gangsters. Blu picked Jewel up and carried her somewhere for cover.

He set Jewel down onto her back behind a crate and began to untie her talons. "Are you okay, Jewel?"

Jewel nodded in response until Blu took the rope from her beak so she could talk. "I'm okay."

"Keep still, I'll get you out." Blu said. He leaned Jewel forward, and got behind her, untying the rope from her body.

As the battle continued, Rico engaged with Nigel while Lenny fought Johnny.

Lenny pushed Johnny in to the plane so hard that the gas started leaking with sparks bursting out.

Rico also noticed there were explosive barrels everywhere. "Bom dues (Good god). Everyone OUT NOW!"

The good and the bad stopped their battle for now and desperately flew out of the hanger to escape, but as Blu and Jewel were escaping, Nigel grabbed Jewel's throat

"Where do think you're going?'' Nigel said as he tightened his grip on her.

Rico flew back in and tackled Nigel down and held him down.

Jewel managed to get free but she flew back and saw Rico holding Nigel down "RICO, LETS GO!"

"JEWEL, GET OUT OF HERE NOW!" Rico ordered, struggling to hold the cockatoo down.

As the plane was close to causing an explosion, Rico struck Nigel in the face before he quickly got up and grabbed Jewel and threw her near the exit. He quickly tackled Nigel back down

"This time you don't come back. Adeus, meu filho mais velho inimigo. (Goodbye, my oldest enemy.) Rico told him. He was not going to let him hurt anyone else again. "I'm coming, Christina."

"NO!" Nigel bellowed.

Kaboom, the plane and the hanger exploded, bursting into flames. Jewel had just about got out of their and got caught in the explosive a little a fell to the ground.

Blu gasped quickly ran over to her, jumping down while holding her up in his wings.

"Jewel, are you ok?" Blu asked.

Jewel remained unresponsive. "..."

"Jewel, wake up." Blu said, slightly shaking her.

Her head bobbed up and down, but she still was not responding. "..."

"Jewel, please don't leave me...we're chained to each other birds, remember?" Blu reminded, shredding a few tears while putting his head on her chest.

There was silence for a moment with the other birds lowering their heads in sadness while the gangsters merely watch. That was until Blu heard a slight coughing noise.

"...You always know how to make a girl happy." Jewel whispered, putting on a smile.

"Jewel you're okay." Blu said thankfully. He gently hugged her, being careful because of her injuries.

Jewel tried to get up but the pain held her down so Blu gently let go and laid her on the ground.

"It's ok Jewel just rest." Blu suggested.

"Blu, Rico he's gone." Jewel said sadly when she noticed he was not present.

"I know, I know." Blu replied sadly. He got up and walked over a few feet where he saw Johnny and he's men watching the fire. "You're going to regret taking us, because of you I've just lost one of my best friends."

"You can't take me alone macaw." Johnny told him.

"He doesn't have to take you alone." Lev walked beside Blu. "I'm with you Blu."

112 walked over to Blu's other side and done something surprising that no-one had yet seen. He took off his disguise and threw it to the ground, revealing he was also a blue macaw. But he was also a she.

"Wow she's pretty." Lev thought, as he admired her.

"I'm with you too, Blu, my names Lola by the way." Lola introduced, talking for the first time. She was about the same height as Blu, but her feathers weren't too dark, or to light, they were medium blue. Lola had purple eyes, and a black beak and black talons like Lev's.

"You're a blue macaw too?" Blu asked a little surprised

"Yep." Lola replied. "We'll talk about it later."

"We're all with you Blu." Lenny assured him.

Blu looked behind him and saw Lev, Lola, Nico, Pedro, Rafael, Lenny and all the military macaws and he saw two other Macaws attending Jewel.

Johnny scoffed "Friendship such a stupid thing, you think I'm afraid? My men are loyal to me and we have faced much worse than you stupid birds so when you're ready, come on."

The heroes and villains all stared at each other with the rain pouring down until Pedro announced "Heroes vs villains!"

"End this now!" Johnny ordered.

The birds engaged in battle a second time with each other. Blu's anger took over and he tackled Johnny on to the ground. He realized what he just did and Johnny easily pushed him off and grabbed his throat

"You really think you can beat me?!" Johnny asked, trying to choke Blu.

"No, but I do!" Lola tackled Johnny off Blu and engaged each other.

Johnny managed to overcome Lola and went to find Blu, but he was stopped by Captain Lenny.

Two gangsters tackled Lenny down and one of them helped Johnny up.

"Where is that blue macaw?!" Johnny asked angrily.

"Which one?" a gangster asked.

"The one with the high pinched voice!" Johnny said, referring to Blu.

"Over there." a Gangster pointed.

Johnny made his way towards Blu and gripped his throat while he scratched Blus stomach.

"Ah!" Blu screamed.

"Now you die Macaw!" Johnny barked. He gripped onto his throat and prepared to kill him

Out of nowhere, a small sharp object went in to Johnny's wing. The Gangsters got distracted by their leaders scream and that allowed them to get overwhelmed and beaten down. Everyone looked around and it was Nico who threw his bottle-cap.

Everyone took their chances and tackled the other Gangsters.

Victory was theirs. Blu and all of his friends had won the battle. However, with the cost of one person...Rico...Blu looked down at the ground and shredded a tear near the burning hanger. "Goodbye, Rico."

The next morning everyone was at Rico's funeral. Though they may not have found his body within the hanger, they still gave him a funeral. It was a very cold day; even the marmosets had turned up to pay their respects. Rafael, Nico, and Pedro were all watching sadly, Jewel, who had bandages around her body, had her wing over Amanda who was crying her eyes out, but no-one could blame her. She lost the closest bird she ever had to a brother.

Blu stood in front of everyone and he also had bandages around his head and body from his injuries after Nigel beaten him up.

"Friends, family, we're here today in memory of Ricardo, who also liked to be called Rico. He was a really kind Hawk, he liked to drink a little and was mostly sarcastic, but he was a great friend, one of the best I have ever known, he gave his life to save us all; he even helped me to survive in the Jungle when I first came here. Rico was a good bird and one of the best I ever known." Blu spoke, sadly. He walked down from the branch switching places with Rafael.

"Friends, you all know me, Rafael because I know everyone. I knew Rico longer than anyone here, he had a hard life, he lost his wife, his best friend, but at least he can be with them now. May we take this moment to remember him? Amen." Rafael spoke.

After Rafael left and everyone else made their speeches, they lowered their heads in respect, remembering the times they had with him.

"Rico was always a good guy." Jewel whispered.

"I'll never forget him." Blu replied, while remembering the best he could to the memories he shared with Rico.

"Blu, this is Ricardo-also known as 'Rico'-, and this is Rapper. Guys, this is Blu, the bird who saved us." Rafael said, giving introductions between the three birds.

"Hi," Blu greeted, holding his right talon out to them, hoping one of them would shake in return.

"Hey," The hawk known as Rico replied, kindly accepting his talon shake with his own, and to Blu's surprise, he seemed to have a good grip but didn't hold it too hard.

"Sup," the red macaw known as Rapper replied, with a hip hop voice, while he too began shaking Blu's talon after Rico had finished shaking their talons.

...

"I'm not going in there!" Rico replied.

"Why?"

"You remember what happened last time. Those seventeen little demons jumped me!" Rico growled.

...

"Hahahaha," Rico laughed, pointing his wing at them.

"I don't know why you're laughing Rico, you're coming too." Jewel smiled evilly.

"Hehe-what?" Rico panicked.

...

"I'm just saying women aren't good at fighting at certain times." Rico replied

"Are you trying to say we can't defend ourselves?!" Jewel barked, as she approached the hawk, who had now regretted what he had said.

"No, no, I didn't mean it like that I...I... I'm gonna run." Rico said, as he quickly flew out of the hollow.

...

Rico once again flew in front of her and tried to stop halt her in mid-air. "Jewel, as the oldest here, I forbid you to pa-"

...

"I'm that beat boxing master master master master master master, master master master master, master MASTER! you wanna mess with my friends, you gotta through me me me ME!

"We're going to miss you Rico." Blu said, looking at the night when it arrived.

After the funeral was over, Blu, Jewel, and the kids went back home. The kids fell straight asleep. As for Blu, he looked where Rico use to live. Jewel walked over to her husband and put her wing over him.

"I'm going to miss him too, Blu." Jewel said. "Come on, let's get some sleep."

The two macaws went back to their nest and wrapped their wings around each other.

"Good night, Blu." Jewel said, pecking Blu with quick kiss before going to asleep.

"Good night, Jewel." Blu replied, planting a kiss on the head, before falling asleep, himself.

After a month had past, Amanda and her son had stayed were they were and tried to let her friend who was like her brother go. Lev and Lola, two other blue macaws grew a fantastic friendship and both of them moved to another part of the jungle. Rafael went back home with his wife and kids and didn't go out as much like he used to. Nico and Pedro both continued to samba in their club and even created some new songs. As for Blu and Jewel, they remained were they were and both of them enjoyed their lives and watched their kids grow up. Last but not least, Captain Lenny and his men took all the Gangsters back to prison and upgraded security, hoping they would never escape again.

During another peaceful morning together, Blu, Jewel with their children along with Nico, Pedro and Rafael flew around their home together with the rest of their friends, singing their famous song known as "Real in Rio".

Jewel soared through the air and performed a cart-wheel and began to sing.

Jewel: "Loving our life in the jungle Everything's wild and free"

Blu few up into the air and joined his loved one.

Blu: "Never alone" (Azul Rey, Crystal and Jessica join in) "cause this is our home Magic can happen for real in Rio"

All by itself

Blu Jewel and the kids perched themselves on a branch, above a bunch of dancing-Scarlet Macaw's.

Blue Macaw family: "You can't see it coming You can't find it anywhere else"

The samba master, known as "Pedro.", jumped in front of the Blue Macaw's and began his line.

Pedro: "I'm tha kako wero kinga, kinga, kinga, kinga, KINGA! Birds like me cause I'm a hot winga" ("There's your hot winga") Pedro does his love hawk squawk.

Nico flew onto the branch, playing his bottle cap as an instrument.

Nico: "Here everybody loves samba,"

Pedro: "I like da samba"

Rafael, the Toco-Toucan, flew down putting one wing on his chest.

Rafael: "Rhythm you feel in your heart,"

Pedro: "I'm the samba master"

Nico: Beauty and love, what more could you want? Everything can be for real in Rio

Every bird present flew down to the ground and formed a circle. Blu and Jewel danced around each other before flying towards the morning sunrise with their children and their friends. Life in this jungle was not going to be same without Rico, but they knew he would have wanted them to move on. But nevertheless, they would never forget all he had done for them.

Here's something else
You just feel it happening
You won't find it anywhere else

That's the end, ladies and gentlemen. Rico the black hawk has gave his life to save his friends. Rio the series 3 coming soon.
