A/N: Hey guys! Here's a random little one-shot for ya…I have no idea where this came from. I'm purposely not saying where they are, or how old they are…but rest assured, Cindy is not a stalker. :)

She was watching him sleep.

His long eyelashes fluttered gently against his cheeks as he dreamed - about a science experiment, probably. His chest rose softly, gently, rising and sinking slowly with each breath he took. He looked peaceful. Sweet.

He looked beautiful.

That thought itself surprised her. She had never thought of him that way before, but there was something about watching him sleep that just...changed things. He was never this vulnerable while awake...maybe that was it? Or was it the absence of his startling eyes that were always expressing some sort of emotion, whether it be anger or extreme intelligence? She wasn't sure. But watching him sleep changed him somehow.

He moaned suddenly, softly, and stretched his arms above his head. His tongue shot out and licked his lips while she watched in utter fascination. He shifted his position onto his side, curling into his blanket, sighing contentedly. He was facing her now, but he wasn't seeing her. The tip of his chocolate-colored ice cream 'do slowly sank towards his forehead and she had difficulty in suppressing a giggle. You are beautiful, Jimmy Neutron. She allowed herself to think it freely, and suddenly found herself longing to reach out and stroke his face. She took a step closer.

It was at that moment she realized she could look at him - no, not just look at him, but really study him, something he would never let her do in his waking hours. She drank in every detail - the random freckles that dotted his left cheek, his parted lips, his tiny button nose that just fit his face so perfectly. She longed to kiss it, for some reason. Her eyes traveled down his body, taking in every detail. So maybe his head wasn't that big. It fit, somehow. He was perfect.

And he had no idea, did he? He had no idea how when he cast those gorgeous eyes in her direction how her stomach flipped or how when he laughed she felt like she was floating. He had no idea how proud she was of him, how amazed she was by him. He was brilliant, adorable, and kind. That last aspect gave her pause. Yes, that was fundamental to the very essence of Jimmy Neutron: he was inherently good. He always wanted to help, to make the world a better place. He genuinely cared about people and their well-being. He never wanted to hurt anyone...every invention created was to serve a noble purpose, for someone else's benefit.

She reached out slowly and brushed the stubborn piece of hair from his face, careful to not disturb him. Somehow, it suddenly felt wrong to be here. Like she didn't deserve it...like she shouldn't be watching him when he was the most vulnerable. Looking at his face, however, pushed all of these thoughts aside and she smiled. He deserved so much. She aimed to find a way for him to get it. "You amaze me, Neutron," she whispered and he stirred slightly. She placed the gentlest of kisses on his cheek, but he never moved...but his breathing remained steady and quiet. He was incredible. He was beautiful. He was everything she wanted.

It was a shame he'd never know that.
