The static and crackle of raw power in a battle against itself, a bright and blinding white matched toe to toe with a swirl of red and blue. Sparks broke from the meeting point and scorching with their heated touches, the energies heated and heavy. It lasted only a minute but the anxiety of those on either end, and the two in a stunned silence at the side, made that minute last for ages in their minds.

As it broke from the middle it was the red and blue that took over, lighting the dingy grey room of computer screens and horns and metal. Faces frozen in a stupor, eyes wide in a terrified manner, the white light fizzled out completely and a sick crunch sent a spray of violet. A scream to stop and everything slowly dimmed back down, the red and blue light fading as the culprit of its source lowered to the floor. A trail of mustard yellow trickling from the corner of an eye.

"Eridan!" A shaky squeak of concern, shuffling and the choke of tears. "Oh my god," Coughing broke out louder than the words spoken, drowning all others out. More sputtering and a gasp. "Don't, don't try to talk." She was crying over her words. "Doofish, what were you thinking?!"

He wanted to answer but she placed a hand over his mouth. She wouldn't let him. Turning to look back she tried to urge one of the other two for help, pleading. She tries so hard to save him, goggles blurred in pink. He's going too quickly, eyes already drooping. "Don't you dare." She wants it to be a threat, don't he dare think of dying. Don't he dare close his eyes.

"I just wanted to," He is so weak it's hard to even hear but she does, her hands torn between pulling him closer and stopping him from saying anything else. Will he ask her to be his? She would agree without a thought, she's sure. If it meant he would stay. His lips move again, out of time with the breath of his voice. "Protect you." He gasped, using what little breath he had to say that much. It hurt and his face twisted up, teeth scraping over his bottom lip. She was wearing his color, all over her hands and her lap. It was never how he intended her to wear his color, how he had hoped, but to have it be the last thing he would see made him feel happy.
