Thank you for the favourites, follows and reviews. My last chapter wasn't my best. I rushed it to get it out as soon as I could so when I have time I will be going back to add more details and flesh the chapter out. This chapter is very short and is more a segue than anything else.
Jim left Ariel at the door to her room, wishing her a good night. He made his way to the main floor to see if his mother needed any help getting ready for the next day before heading back upstairs to his own room.
Once in his room he gently prodded Morph awake. The little pink blob chirruped sleepily and opened it's eyes.
"Sorry to wake you Buddy. I need a small, covert ship to get us back to Earth and soon." Morph nodded, his eyes widening with excitement. "You know what to do." Morph gave him a salute and sped out the open window and into the night.
Jim watched him leave with mixed feelings. He immediately felt a little lonelier with Morph gone; the ever changing creature had been a constant companion since Treasure Planet and he felt strangely alone without him. He did however have hope that Morph would come through and they'd be able to get a ship to take Ariel home in no time.
While he couldn't understand why she had thought she was ready to get married at her age in the first place he did understand the need to get away and have some distance from where you grew up. Not all that long ago he had been a simple boy who just liked to have fun, one who never wanted to turn into the person his father had been. Like Ariel he had been a dreamer who never had a future ahead of him that he felt was worth living.
He spent most of his life on the small planet and wanted to leave, but didn't know how. It had taken adventure almost literally being thrust into his hands for him to get out and begin to live his dreams. He admired his friend, and felt a little jealous, that she had been able to uproot herself so easily to chase what she had felt in her heart she needed and now that she needed to go home he would do what he could to help her, the way he had been fortunate enough to have friends help him.
