Chapter 15 : Painful Truth

She looks to her left and right –nervously- in hope that she could find a pink-hair girl, whose face resembled hers. "Where could she have gone?" she wondered.

"Ah! There she is! Geez…she really likes to worry people this girl," she sigh in relief at the glimpsed of the red-hair girl in the corner of the darkness, not too far from her eyesight. "But…what is she doing in that dark spot? Is she playing hide-and-seek?" she guessed and realized how silly that could have sounded. She gave herself a gentle knock on her head with her fist. "Hehehe," she giggled, "Silly me. There's no way that she'll do that now. In fact, she would've invited me along if she did play it."

She continued her walk to her twin sister and heard a faint mumble come from her twin sister's direction, "…yes…I…sure…I understand…do it…"

"Fine~ who are you talking with? And what are you talking about? I barely hear a thing! Count me in too! It's unfair to leave me out!" the absent-minded girl asked cheekily as she approached and interrupted the mumbling-in-action.

Fine looked startled at the sudden unwelcomed greeting but quickly regain her composed face back. "Rein…" she started to spoke. "What are you doing here?" she asked.

"Hehehe" Rein smiled cheekily.

"Annoying," Fine added.

"Aww~ Don't be so cold. I saw what happen earlier. Do you think that I'm not watching 'that'? Hehehe," Rein giggled.

Fine flinched. "You…saw…'that'?" she asked in worried. Well, she looked a little bit worried though she was still wearing that unsuitable poker face of hers.

"Yes!" Rein confessed eagerly, "E-verything~ From A to Z! Well, um…not so sure if it's from A though but…oh well, at least it looks like that to me."

"WHAT DID YOU HEAR YOU INSOLENT FOOL?!" Fine suddenly snapped and grabbed Rein's arm.

Rein was caught by surprise. It's hurts! She didn't expect that kind of reply and serious face especially from Fine. "Fine? Why? What's wrong? What's the matter that you suddenly–"

Fine tightened her grab and stared fiercely at Rein. "Ouch!" Rein flinched. "Cut it out, FINE! It hurts!" Rein half-shouted while struggling to break free from the grip.

"Then, get out of my way!" Fine finally released her grip and pushed rein out of her way.

"Wh-what? Are you upset about something, Fine? I thought that you're definitely in a good mood because –well, you performed splendidly just now. That's why I came straight here to find you because I wanted to be the first person to congrats you. Even though you might not need it… Anyway, it's a total 180 to what we have been practising, right?" she stopped for a while and remembered how disasterily their practised had gone and turned out they actually eventually becoming better because of their persistent and determination. She remembered that they even broke several vases and statues inside and out of the palace. No matter where they practised, they somehow greatly –without intention- manage to turn the place upside down. Rein giggled at herself a bit at that thought. But, it was worth it if the result turned out to be like Fine's performance. Now, she's worried about hers later.

"Aww! You're so cunning, Fine. You must have been practising secretly behind my back to get this good, right? You could have invited me! Now, I'm nervous about my performance." Rein's face turned sour just the thought of messed up her steps and embarrassed herself in front of the whole kingsom especially in front of her Bright-sama!

No! No! No! She shook her head several times furiously. 'Not in front of Bright-sama! I've got to put myself together!' "Fine! Wish me luck okay?" Rein mustered her courage and put on a ready-to-fight face.

"Like hell I'll do that! I wish you dead!" Fine coldly phrased. Rein looked really shocked by that remark and her motivation started to sway and lose bit by bit. Only God knows how her heart felt –thumping, aching, cracking and her blood feels like draining from her head at the same time. Hearing that kind of phrase in this crucial moment was a bit harsh and worst especially when it came from your own twin sister whom you trust with all your heart, know you more than anyone and what's more, she is one of your source of strength all this while.

"Why did you say that? I mean…Ah!" Rein exclaimed suddenly remembering something, "You got a problem, right? I'm so sorry. Sorry, I forgot about that. If you're worry about something, just tell me about it. We'll fix it together –like always~" Rein tried to think positive. She was hoping for a good response from Fine but instead, Fine gave her a cold stare.

"Save your breath human! I'm not interested in dealing with you." Fine turned her back to Rein and wanted to walk away but Rein stopped her by grabbing Fine's hand.

SMACK! "Ouch! That hurts. What did you do that for? Did I grab your hand too hard? Did it hurt you? If so, I'm sorry –but you don't need to slap my hand that hard!" Rein said while rubbing her throbbing hand.

"YOU, annoying girl! Don't get in my way!" Fine replied with her harsh and cold tone.

Rein as in disbelief, hoped that what she had just heard was wrong. Therefore, she shakingly muster her courage asking for confirmation, "Wh-what? I'm s-sorry but I don't really catch what you just say so…could you repeat it again?"

Fine coldly sighed and stared at Rein with annoyed face, "Don't play dumb. I know you could hear me clear enough."

Rein became speechless. She didn't know what to say or reply. All she could think was why did Fine treat her that way. Did she by any chance do something wrong? A big one? Because no matter what she did, Fine would never treat her that way. No matter how mad Fine is, she would never throw such an inhuman words towards her.

"Fine, I repeat. I said that you are annoying. So, get lost already," Fine said without hesitation.

That word came like a second wave to Rein. She felt like she wanted to cry but she controlled it. "An-Annoying?" Rein repeated.

"Don't want me to repeat it again don't ya?" Fine started to get impatient.

"FINE! How…how could you say that to me. You never…" tears started to fall from Rein's cheeks, "said…behave like this. Why…What is wrong with you?!"

"The wrong one is you. You came up to me out of the blue, giggle and smile like an idiot. What's more, you talked to me as if you are the goody-goody princess. It makes me sick." Fine stated.

Rein's voice started to shake, "But…that's the way I am. Y-you know me the most! Y-you certainly never said anything about it before."

"How I-r-r-i-t-a-t-i-n-g."

"HOW CRUEL!" Rein started to lose her patience snapped. "We're twins. So, if I'm irritating than you are too. Remember, mother said that twins reflected each other in their own ways."

Hearing the word 'twin' make Fine more annoyed. She felt disgusted whenever she heard the word. She seemed cannot accept that relationship. "Oh! You mean YOUR IMAGINARY TWIN? How pitiful!"

"No! You're my twin sister! That cannot be changed! It's been like this since forever!" Rein asserted to Fine.

"Oho! I'm sorry. Say what? I'm your twin? Dream on! I know, everyone wants a fabulous person with them. Glue them, pin them besides you –just like a doll. And when you're tired and have no use of them anymore, you'll abandon them. Throw them away just like a scrap!" Fine said sneering.

"Wh-what are you talking about, Fine? I don't understand. I don't get it at all," said Rein –confused.

"Simple." Fine said proudly, "You're nobody to me. All I know is that dear 'Golden' is my one and only twin. The one who will never abandon me."

Added to her confusion, Rein asked, "Golden?"

"Prince Golden," Fine announced while pointing at someone who was sitting on the dark corner, smirking behind the curtain just beside them.

"Greetings, Princess Rein" a voice greeted.

"Save your regards, Golden. It's a waste of time," Fine added.

"Well, well. But we should greet our 'dear' friend properly shouldn't we, Cherry?" the snickering voice replied.

Rein couldn't believe in what she was seeing and hearing right now. She recognised the voice dearly. How could it be?! "Eh…why…" she whispered and couldn't hold her tears any longer.
