96. Light up the sky: Unspecified World (Post Manga)

97. Ugly: Infinity

98. Caught in the Grey

They were trapped in a nearly impossible situation. Balancing precariously atop the wooden poles, Fai chanced a glance towards his red-eyed companion. Kurogane was glowering at the witch, acid water floating all around them as Fai felt his magic tingle just beneath the surface of his skin. The witch was powerful but her magic was no match for his. The power inside him itched to be let out, to rip this insolent being to shreds for daring to threaten him and for just a fraction of a second, he contemplated letting it all out. It would surely save them the trouble of having to fight any longer, allowing them to join Syaoran on the upper floor in a matter of seconds. But then, his king's words from nearly a lifetime ago echoed inside his head and fear gripped his heart.

'I will always find you,' Ashura had said with a tiny smile, 'no matter where you are.'

The blond immediately dragged all his power, locking it as far away from himself as he possibly could, noticing the tiniest of frowns on the witch's face for a moment before it was replaced by that calm mask. Was she disappointed he had chosen not to use it? He received his answer as Kurogane knocked him out of the way of an acid glob the very next second, yelling at him to pay attention to the fight. The witch was angry. Even so, he could not risk Ashura finding him. Syaoran would just have to hold out his own until they managed to get finished down here.

99. Warmth

It had been decades since Ashura-ou had rescued him from the Valley of the Sinners but the chill that had settled into his bones in that accursed place had remained with Fai his whole life. For a few years while living under the bright sunny skies of Ceres, immersing himself into learning everything about magic that he could get his hands on, and earning Ashura-ou's praise helped lessen it enough that Fai no longer thought that his heart would simply freeze and shatter inside his chest. But then came his king's madness and as Ashura-ou's sanity fled, so did the warmth that his presence inspired in Fai's broken soul.

100. Life is beautiful

He ran out into the garden as tiny flakes of frozen water fell from the sky, pulling Sakura along with him, dancing like a little child having their first snow day. Even though he was a grown man and had actually grown up surrounded by snow but somehow the fact that the whole ordeal was now over, he couldn't help himself. Leaving the giggling princess where she was, he ran back to the shelter and pulled out her reincarnated self, grabbing her original's hand once he was back with her and forcing them both to spin in circles with him. Mokona wasted no time in joining the three, the two Syaoran's joining not long after and finally the gruff ninja too dared to venture out into the cold with an exasperated grin. It was finally over. They had succeeded.
