Hey! I know it's been a long time since I've updated and I feel really bad about that, but here's the next chapter! Thanks for bearing with me. Things are about to get crazy with this story. Only four chapters left! (Gasp!) Thank you for all of the reviews. I apologize for taking so long to update, but I will do my best to better about it with the remaining chapters.

I only own the plot.

Jai wasn't sure what he should have expected walking into his family's home like that. They didn't waste any time getting rid of him. They didn't even give him a chance to plead his case. While this did upset him, he understood why. He didn't deserve to be given a chance.

The last thing he remembered before waking up in Belle Rev was staring at Milagro in his parent's basement. His sister was arguing with his parents upstairs and given his relocation they must have determined that he was too dangerous to listen too. The rest of his memory was fuzzy, but he remembered that he mentioned something about Zoom to the Green Lantern before the world went black.

Prison wasn't as bad as he expected. He was fitted with his own special collar that neutralized his powers. It was a little frustrating at first, but now it was only a little annoying. Bearing in mind the alternative was something along the lines of Irey bashing his brains in he considered it to be quite conformable. He was not allowed to be with the general population of the prison due to his family. The prison did it for his safety and the safety of his family. He was placed in a special wing of the prison for other people like him. From what he could tell there weren't that many people in his wing.

There was only one other person that he saw besides the guards. There was an old man in the cell across the hall. He never said anything to Jai, but he always stared. Jai was bothered by the way the older man looked at him. He could not find a single emotion on the old man's hardened face and it perturbed him. While he never showed any emotions Jai had a feeling that the old man knew something that he didn't.

Because of his relation to the Flash Family Jai was only allowed out of his cell for an hour every day for exercise. Like clockwork the guards came for him every day at noon. Jai would be led into a small yard, if it could even be called that. It was a large rectangular shaped room carpeted with fake grass. Sometimes there would be another person in the room with him, but Jai never felt like talking.

Jai was in Belle Rev for almost a month before he had the chance to speak with the strange old man. When he was escorted into the room he saw the old man sitting at the picnic table in the corner of the exercise yard. He seemed pleased with Jai's presence.

The man was much larger than Jai imagined him to be. He could only see the man's face from his cell through the window in the door. The older man was sitting down but Jai could tell that he was well over six feet tall and he had an impressive amount of muscle for a man his age. With a closer look at the man's face Jai figured he was ancient. The creases on his face were deep and what was left of his hair was snow white. There was a scar than ran across the left side of the man's face.

Jai briefly glanced in the direction of the two guards posted at the door before heading towards the table. The old man smiled at Jai as he sat down.

"You know, you look a lot like your mother." The old man's voice was low and gravely.

This took Jai by surprise. Out of all the things he would expect the old man to say as comment about his mother would be the last. It didn't even make any sense! Jai didn't look much like Artemis at all.

"Excuse me?" Jai felt nervous, but his curiosity overtook the butterflies in his stomach.

"You have her eyes." The old man clarified.

Jai was in shock. How could this man know who his mother was, much less what she looked like. Artemis was a hero, not a villain. But there was a reason the old man was in the same ward he was in.

If Jai looked as uncomfortable as he felt the old man must not have cared because he continued on like nothing was wrong.

"How is she these days? I haven't seen her in decades."

Jai ignored the old man's question. "Who are you?" How he hell did this man know his mother?!

"Let me introduce my self." The old man set his meaty hand on the table. "Lawrence Crock."

Jai did not take the man's hand. He was too busy trying to wrap his mind around the situation. Crock. That was his mother's maiden name. But it couldn't be. His mother always told him that her father was never in her life.

"I'm guessing she never told you about me. Classic Artemis, always running from her past." For some reason Lawrence found this amusing. "I guess daddy issues run in the family."

This angered Jai. How could this man, who he had never met before, know so much about him?

Jai gathered his wits and looked his grandfather in the eye. He had so many questions but his time was running out and there was no telling when he would be placed in the yard with Lawrence again.

"What makes you say that?" Jai didn't want to offend or anger Lawrence. That was no way to get much needed answers.

Lawrence shrugged. "I read. I gotta a lot of time to think about things here and a newspaper helps to pass the time. Usually I get the Central City Picture News and if I'm really good they'll bring me a Daily Planet."

Jai frowned. "How does that have anything to do with me?"

Lawrence smirked. "It's quite simple. Your mother, my dear baby girl, married that buffoon Wally West who was also the first Kid Flash. After the tragic death of Barry Allen, his beloved mentor, West became the Flash. A few years later Two little sidekicks begin to show up in the news. After West meets his own tragic fate a female Flash shows. And then the most peculiar thing happens after that. A man seeming to be none other than the previous Flash's own son appears as his sister's nemesis, Zoom. Sound about right?"

More like dead on, give or take a few details. Jai was impressed with the old man. "You gathered all of that from the papers?"

"That and the wedding invite your mother sent me many years ago." He smiled again. "Artemis was always so spiteful. It was one of the few things I admired about her."

No wonder his mother hated her father so much. Lawrence was a vile man. Jai was not a fan. He wondered what his grandfather did to end up in Belle Rev. There was something that didn't add up. His mother was human. Belle Rev was a prison for super humans.

"If you don't mine me asking, why are you here at Belle Rev Mr. Crock?" Jai had a feeling that the man in front of him was as just as human as his mother was.

Lawrence grinned even wider. Pride filled his eyes. "No other prison could hold me." He tapped the collar on his neck. "I still haven't figured out to bypass this thing."

Jai scowled. He was no longer interested in conversing with Lawrence. He got the answer he was looking for and wasn't keen on making small talk with the old man. Jai was no angel, but Lawrence was absolutely despicable.

Lawrence still had no qualms about talking to Jai. He shrugged. "It's not too bad here. Not exactly what I imagined for my retirement, but I guess it beats the alternative."

Jai was relieved when one of the guards retrieved him from the yard. Lawrence made his skin crawl. He wasn't sure why, but he had a feeling that the old man had that effect on most people.

After speaking with Lawrence Jai spent the rest of the day recalling his childhood, specifically his mother. Her behavior now made a lot of sense. He wanted to be mad at Artemis for lying to him about his grandfather, but he really couldn't bring himself to be upset. He saw why she did what she did.

Jai wondered how his sister was doing. He still wasn't sure how to feel about her yet, but he decided that he cared enough to worry. Without his help Irey was the only thing that stood between Thawne and the destruction of Central City. In Jai's honest opinion she didn't stand a chance. The Flash had no clue what she was facing. His desire to help dwindled after his family put him in prison, but he still cared about his family enough to not want them to perish. He hoped she would come to realize that he could help before it was too late.

"Ugh! What does he want?" Irey couldn't figure out what Zoom was up to this time. He had made random appearances all over the city the past few weeks. First he hit up a couple of hardware stores, then a gym and most recently a super market.

"This makes no sense!" Barry shook his head. He looked at the map showing Thawne's appearances again. Nothing seemed to line up or connect.

Milagro smiled as she scanned security footage from the different crime scenes on her tablet. "I'm guessing the usual. Death to all Flashes, World Domination or even the good ol' two for one shtick."

Irey relaxed a little bit and rolled her eyes, "Ha ha, very funny."

"Damian have you found anything on the ATM footage that pinpoints a hide out?"

Damian looked up from his tablet and shook his head. "I'm sorry Mr. West. I have been unable to discover a location or even narrow down an area. Thawne is playing this very close to the vest."

"What could he be possibly doing?" Artemis asked.

Irey frowned. "No clue, but whatever it is, its going to be huge."

"Actually I might know what's going on. Well I know someone that does." Milagro was unusually quiet.

"And who might that be?" Damian inquired.

Irey did not have a good feeling about this.

"Well, when you had me guard Jai down in the basement he mentioned something about Thawne. The reason he came to us was because he wanted to warn you about Thawne."

"He's probably working for Thawne. We have no reason to trust him!" Irey proclaimed. "Jai is the last person I would ask for help, especially with this!"

"As much as I hate to say this, it might be worth a shot. We have nothing else to go on." Artemis sighed. She didn't want to have to face her son either.

"No! Not him!" Irey wouldn't hear it. "There's gotta be something in the evidence. Thawne can't just disappear. We don't need Jai's help to figure out this mess."

There was no point in arguing with Irey. No one wanted to go to Jai for help, but at the moment it seemed like it was their only option. Everyone got back to work with their respective pieces of evidence and began combing through the footage once more in hopes of discovering even the tiniest clue.

Irey didn't want to face the truth that her brother held to key to figuring out what was happening, and frankly, she was running out of options. She continued her restless search for Thawne on her own against her parent's wishes, but not much could stop her these days. She was determined to put an end to the madness before more lives were in danger and she preferred to do so without the help of her brother. As much as she wanted to believe the worst about Jai, her gut told her that Milagro was right.

She was on her nightly patrol when she got a call about a disturbance in the Flash Museum. She knew right off the bat who would be waiting for her when she arrived. She didn't care about the risk. This was her only chance to stop him. It was incredibly stupid to go in against Thawne without any backup or plan, but Irey did not have much in the way of options.

She entered the museum and found Thawne perched on the railing by one of the exhibits. She could tell by the grin on his face that he had been waiting for her. Irey was smart enough to approach the other speedster with caution. Thawne was very dangerous.

"Finally! I get the opportunity to be graced with the presence of Central City's one and only Scarlet Speedster." He seemed very relaxed. Clearly he did not deem Irey as a threat.

"What do you want?" Irey cut to the chase. She was in no mood to chitchat.

He smirked. "Never mind that Dearie, that is irrelevant to you and quite frankly non of your business. You know I never imagined you of all people would become the Flash. You see, in my world your brother took up the mantle. He did a good job of it too. Unfortunately the history books never mentioned you."

Irey took a deep breath and calmed herself down. He was trying to upset her and get into her head. A few years ago that would've probably worked, but now she knew better. This was the only opportunity to stop Thawne before god only knows what happens. Hopefully if she played her cards right she could stop this lunatic before anyone else got hurt.

"What does that have to do with anything?"

Thawne shrugged, "No much. It's just interesting. Fun fact, you're also the only Flash from this time that I haven't met. You're much different than from what I expected. You're too serious. I mean c'mon! Your father would have a least bantered with me."

"I am not my father and I'm not here to play games, Zoom." Irey could feel her temper swell.

Thawne laughed at this. "Cute. I guess we should get this over with if you're so anxious to get your but kicked."

Flash tensed up and took a step towards the villain. Her hands vibrated with anticipation. She was ready to bring this man to justice.

"Let's go, Bud." She whispered under her breath and braced herself for impact.

Zoom laughed once more. "Girlie, you're way in over head."

It was then that Irey slammed into him with everything that she had. She managed to land a few hits before Thawne gained the upper hand. For some reason he was much faster and stronger than Irey. Before she knew it she was thrown into the wall.

The impact knocked the air out of the Flash. The drywall collapsed under her weight and she could feel the wires and support beams slice into her body. Irey was never one to run from a fight, but she was smart enough to know when it was a good time to regroup. Now was a very good time for that. With her injuries she was as good as dead at the moment. It was hard enough to fight to remain conscious; there was no way she could take down the other speedster.

For some reason Thawne made no attempt to end her life as he stood over her body. There was a satisfied smirk painted across his face. "Better than I expected coming from you, Girlie. Next time you won't be so lucky."

The last thing she saw before waking up in the Watchtower was Thawne's boot. Irey wasn't too pleased about being in the League headquarters, but she was more upset that she allowed herself to be lured into Thawne's trap. He played her. She should've seen it coming. She should've called for back up. Thawne was too dangerous to be faced alone and she knew that. She was just so determined to stop that monster before he caused too much harm. Now she was too late. Whatever it was that he was planning, she had no idea how to face. It was back to square one.

After being chewed out by Barry, Wally and especially Artemis, Irey called Milagro and Damian into the room. She had come to a decision. Irey hated that it had to come to this, but she was beyond desperate and she would be dammed if she let her city fall at the hands of Thawne. She would rather lay down her life than for that to happen.

"We need to speak with Jai."
