Tris knew that Tobias liked cake. She did not know that he practically worshipped it.

"Come on, just one bite" he begged her. She did not usually see him like this, but Dauntless cake had a way of making Tobias a little kooky.

"No, you had like, 7 slices, I think I'd like to have at least one slice of my birthday cake." She had replied. He was as stubborn as she was, but under no circumstances was Tris Prior not going to have a slice of her 17th birthday cake.

"Well if you want, you can give up the last slice the hard way…" he replied with a cocky smirk and a raise of his eyebrows.

"Careful, Four," she said. "You sound like Eric for a second" she laughed at his overly exaggerated offended face. "I'm just kidding, you know" his face immediately lit up into another overly exaggerated expression of joy.

"That's it, Beatrice, I'm going to have that cake no matter what I have to do"

She squealed as she realized what his intentions were. She frantically tried to hide under the table of the mess hall, but to no avail. Instead, she had made her way right into Tobias's arms.

His long slender fingers erratically moved against her stomach, tickling the daylights out of her. Her breathing became shallow and quick, as Tobias continued torturing her belly. By now, the whole cafeteria could hear her giggles, but she didn't care. Her only motive right now was to escape, and eat some darn cake. Tris's arms reached for her fork, but once again he stopped her. "Nope, not until you agree to let me have a bite" he playfully tried to convince her.

She sighed, and he loosened up, thinking that she was surrendering. Tobias helped her sit back up, and sat there waiting for her to pass the fork. Tris raised the fork to his hand. "Thank you Miss Prior, it was a pleasure to- OW, GOD DARN IT, TRIS" he yelped, as the fork stabbed his arm.

"Did you honestly believe that a Dauntless would give up their cake that easily?" she asked, as she ran out of the cafeteria, plate with cake in hand. She screamed as she saw him running after her. He quickly tackled her, gently enough not to hurt her, but hard enough to topple her to the ground.

"Are you sure you don't want to give up that cake?" Tobias questioned. He was on top of her now, right in the middle of the Pit. Luckily, most of the Dauntless were either inside the cafeteria, or in their dorms. In reply, she smashed the remaining piece of cake into his face.

"It really wasn't worth it" she said, sitting up. He licked the sides of his mouth, relishing in the sweet frosting. "Yes it was." He replied.

They sat there quietly for a moment, before realizing what they had just done. Tris started laughing first, quickly followed by Tobias. They must have looked like complete loons, sitting their laughing their heads off in the middle of the Pit. He looked like the bigger loon, a cake smothered across his face.

"It's just cake you know." He said to her. "I know" she replied, kissing his cheek, and tasting a bit of the cake at the same time.

He suddenly gained an idea. "We really should clean up this cake." He said cheekily. She quickly caught on, grabbed his hand, and started running towards Tobias's dorm.

Tris knew that Tobias liked cake. But she also knew that he liked her better.

Or at least that's what he says…
