She could remember everything from that night, everything seemed perfectly normal. Not like anything was how it should or would have been if Soul wasn't some 'Sudden Celebrity' Now. Ever single waking moment she was even near him the phone would go off. 'Is Soul there?' 'Hiya! Can I talk to Soul?' 'Is this Souls sister? Could you like, hand the phone off to him pumpkin?' Etc, Etc. Even a few threats from other guys about stealing their girl.

"You know, Soul frowned from behind. Scaring the girl at first, silently watching his meister skim over another page of thick paging "If you tried relaxing for once and letting loose, you might actually achieve in getting laid pigtails." Now days they didn't bicker about things like who left the water running in the shower, or why was the toaster burning at five in the morning. Now they consisted with more dull, moderately adult questions. he always taunted her, teasing her about small things. She was still a genius times twenty, naive times forty. But...what did that have to do with anything anymore?

"You act like you've slept with every single girl in the school." Makas hand cringed the next set of actions, her book being tossed to the side by the weapon moving next to her. A red sleeved arm tossed over her shoulder now.

"Thats because I have."

"Ew! Soul!" Watching him laugh like a nut case she tried pushing him away. "You really didn't need to tell me that!"

In response he only pulled her closer until she started making an effort in escaping, towering over the blonde beauty.

God damn he loved her...how her body trended to fit perfectly as a young women now, hair darker at its roots now until bright green eyes shinned out now. He didn't even notice how his hands were rubbing at her sides now, Maka words urging into nothing. Dark cinnabar colored eyes focused on her confused expression when his hands dipped lower to her chest.

"Maka..?"

"Soul.."

"Oh...Soul.." Maka whispered, groaning before eyes quickly opened. Her body launched up in a gasp, hair hanging off her shoulders. Green eyes popped, hands latched onto the new found sheets.

What...what the hell...

"...What the hell kind of dream was that?!" She groaned rubbing her head before swinging her legs over the beds edge. Not to mention the new change in clothes she had on..Wait...Since when did Liz know where she tossed all those used maternit-

"Kay, so now you hit A-sharp I think.."

Oh..Ok, update; So Soul was still here..she could here the electric boarded keys being hit off of what must've been Liz's computer..

"Well how does the note look?!"

"Hell if I know!"

Yup...he was defiantly here..

Tucking the blanket around her, she hanged it off her sides like a cape, lazily dragging it out her room to the hall.

"Liiiiie, see? Its -iiiii, not aiy."

"I'm lying on the moon," He hit another set of chords. "My dear, I'll be there soon."

"Ok no, this app bullshit isn't working. Don't you have anything more..fuck, I don't know, easier? Something...classic that doesn't sound like a dying mouse?"

"Soul, you're getting old, can't keep up with the times anymore." Liz smirked when he began going off about being a year younger then her. Slowly, she started hitting a coutndown again. "And...5...4..." She raised her hands, marking off three, two, one..

"It's a quiet, starry place. Time's we're swallowed up," Soul snapped his fingers, trying to find a beat. "In space we're here a million miles away."

Maka stepped forward, pulling the blanket around her more. What song was that...stupid melody...she knew she had heard that tune once before, but couldn't stick a pin on it yet. Where had it come from? It sounded like something she would've loved, saved it a million and one times for listening in the future.

When she looked back up though, it wasn't Liz and Soul anymore.

He was lying on the couch, two tickets in his hand. Fucking Europe...why, why, why the fuck did these things happen to him?

There's things I wish I knew.

He quickly tucked them away as he heard footsteps running over.

There's no thing I keep from you.

Maka ran out from where she stood now, two slips of colored papers in her hand. She plopped down next to him, leaning against the couch. "Ok, baby blue, or sunshine yellow?"

"Mmm," The weapon pointed between them, humming. "That one."

It's a dark and shiny place.

She huffed, shaking her head. "Soul, you can't pick both of them.."

"Said who?"

"Said me, you idiot."

"Fine, we'll pick...a yellow AND a blue, in case they like both?"

But with you my dear,

"If they're anything like you? Then yeah, they'll be picky and settle for both.

I'm safe and we're a million miles away

Fuck, why did she think of these sort of shit now? Of all times...

"We're lying on the moon," Liz keeps playing. "It's a perfect afternoon."

She doesn't bother singing along with him. "Your shadow follows me all day. Making sure that I'm okay and-"

"We're a million miles away." Maka finished for him, clearing her throat once realizing the awkward position the song had left her in. "Uh, Liz! Right, you wanted to go to the supermarket today?"

The older Thomspon nodded, setting the iPad down on the coffee table infront of her before standing with a stretch. "Mmhm! Gotta go pick up some junk, maybe get something from Deathbucks later on. My treat?"

Soul, in turn, flipped to his almost iconic grin, one that made Maka turn away from her glance that had been set on him only moments ago. "Yeah, We better get going before they sell out of that cookie butter stuff you like."

"Actually, Soul was wondering if he could come!" Walking past Maka and to the first room in the hall, she grabbed her purse and shades. She turned into the room as Soul got up. "Uh..I really don't think so. I mean, he probably has stuff to do. Books to sign, girlfriend to have romantic friasco with, the usual."

"Nope."

"Excuse me?"

"I don't got shit planned this week, Pigtails. Infact, the only thing I'm in town for this time is that annual celebration Lord Death holds every damn year...besides that," His hand pressed above her shoulder, cornering her when Maka turned around to face him. "It's like the old times."

"Great!" A sarcastic expression crossed her face, soon loosing it when whacking his arm away. "So get lost."

When she returned to her room to change, Soul turned back to Liz. "Geez...the hells her problem.."

"Well...you did sorta break her heart Soul," Realizing she was right, he watched her shrug yet again. "It's gonna take a lot more then a few shits and giggles if you really wanna get her back, especially since that certain she happens to be Maka Albarn.."

"I know."

She tossed another can of soup into the shopping cart, not thinking about the women hanging off the end talking. "So, I was thinking later on we could give Crona one last trip to the spa? Ya know, before that dork leaves from New York and all."

Maka hummed, not even sure what she was agreeing to at the moment and instead focusing on other things. Like for example, where that idiot of a weapon went.

"Maybe get his hair slicked back, they're still doing that big-ass, goodbye festival...ball...thing, in like two weeks. So we'll do it then, sound good, Maka?"

It's not like she cared about the idiot or anything. He's the one that abandon her for some...swanky...gun chick...She was just as good as Patty! She had charms, and could be funny...to a point...but brains over breast, right? Physically she was an average women for her age. Hair was long and still blonde, green eyes matured over the years as well as her growth kicking in. Liz had teased her about breast not growing to the desired state but whatever, fuck her.

"Maka- -"

Mentally she was a genius! She could fix whatever possible, solve whatever equation had come to her with ease. So why was impressing him suddenly so much more important then before. Maka gently moved her hand across her forehead, picking up a box of cereal. What was the point? He had his own life now, his own things to worry about, why would he even bother to notice her? Not like he cared about her any-

"MAKA!"

"WHAT?!" She snapped, jerking the cart back until she gripped onto the end. With no words, Liz bobbed her head to the side. "Look."

Aka turned her head in that direction confusingly, peering as a cart ran passed. Soul was on the end of it, grinning like a mad man. Back and forth, each time he passed baking some what a more stupid face then the last. "What...the fuck is he doing..."

"Because I'm happy," He hummed, snapping his finger with one hand while holding on with the other, hunching over and trying to stay moving, clapping with the beat playing across the groccery store. "Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof, Because I'm happy."

Maka's face dragged down, watching him with glare first, until people began watching him more and more. He even hopped off, trying to convince one of the stock girls to dance with him, letting her set down the boxes of soap first before taking her hand and continuing.

Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth

Because I'm happy

Her old partner continued to swing the other girls arms, twisting her in step every so often. She was smiling, laughing, Soul managed to keep her going before hurrying to grab another, again. He managed to get almost everyone in the isle dancing along with him. Hell, even Liz managed to get dragged in...Maka stayed quietly, watching them spin and dance along.

It wasn't that bad

Really

She should join them. No harm no fowl right?

As soon as Maka tried moving forward, not wanting to admit to herself that dancing in the middle of the supermarket was actually..a fun idea. Well it was, up until Soul turned and stumbled backwards. His head hit the self, a large series of two liter soda bottles falling and hitting the ground. Twelve, thirteen, fourteen before they ended up across the floor; either damaged or exploded and spilled everywhere.

She held her breath for a second, hearing Soul cuss under his breath.

Oh fuck.

"That'll be...forty one fifty, mam."

Maka dug into her wallet, pulling out a debt card. The cashier girl quickly took the card then offered to her, the cart infront of her filled with half spilled soda bottle. Soul was tossed in the wagon, huffing with a bruised cheek and a earful of previous shouting from Maka. Liz was still laughing away somewhere outside, smoking a cigarette and trying to keep herself together.

"You're paying me back for all of this."

It wasn't like he intended to do any of this, he was just trying to enlighten her a bit. Maka, sheesh, her punches were even rougher then before..

"Soul?"

Then again, Maka was always a good hitter..

"Soul!"

"Wha?" He looked up at her, dazed out from thought before nodding with that normal grin. No reason to get too caught up.. "Yeah, I know.."

Makka rolled her eyes, not acknowledging him much.

"Yeah, whatever.."
