Holy hell... Do I even have followers anymore? Sorry I would have thought I would have come back to this sooner. But moving out and living with someone makes it hard to find time to sit down and write. I was rereading this piece and I remembered why I started writing it. Though I cant promise I will finish it I think I might be able to get the ball rolling again.

Don't own Rise of the Gaurdians duh

Pitch told them the entire tale, the history of their origins. How he used to revel in the power that he wielded. His rage grew as he told Jack how he was simply brushed away by the guardians. How their wonder and joy caused Pitch to fade away into nothing but a bad dream. Somehow Jack found himself torn. Sure, it wasn't like Pitch was doing anything other than what he was meant to do. He was meant to cause fear. It was what he was born to do. So who said the guardians were the ones in the right anyway? But… he never considered being one to want to hurt or scare children. Usually he enjoyed children, their laughter and games entertained Jack even though he didn't always get recognition for it.

He shook his head as he saw the tooth palace begin to crumble. Specks of glittering powder began to fall as if it was aging. The beautiful gold that once adorned the walls was now fading. Pitch softened his look. Jack's eyes locked with his. "Oh it's happening already…"

Jack looked at all of the guardians. They were in a stunned silence as pieces of the palace began to collapse to the ground; their magical levitation wearing down as Tooth's magic began to dwindle.

"What is?" Jack breathed.

"Children are waking up… and realizing, the Tooth Fairy never came." He chuckled. "It's such a little thing… but to a child." A sinister chuckle escaped his lips.

"What's going on?" Jack was confused. What did this mean? He couldn't process what exactly was happening.

"They…They don't believe in me anymore." Tooth whispered, her heart was breaking, how could this happen, ever since her existence began she had never not been believed in. She slowly fell to the ground, her wings growing tired from her lack of magic.

Jack's heart went out to her as he saw the pain on her gentle face. How could Pitch do this to anyone knowing the pain it caused? He couldn't be this evil, could he?

"Didn't they tell you Jack?" He smiled looking as the tooth palace continued to fall. "It's great being a guardian. But, there's a catch, if enough kids stop believing…then everything your friends protect wonder, hope, and dreams, it all goes away, and little by little so do they. " Pitch laughed, even when no one believed in him he still was there, growing stronger and stronger by the day. He didn't need children to believe in him, however it made him all the more powerful. And power would help him rule the world.

Bunny had enough of Pitch. He whipped his boomerang at him and Pitch smoothly jumped on the back of his Night Mare. He stole one last glance to Jack, causing Jack to hesitate. His eyes locked with Pitch's and his mind slowed down. He held his breath, those burning amber eyes took his breath away. He knew Pitch was bad news but… he just couldn't resist his old friend. Jack watched as he disappeared over the edge and the guardians chased after him. Jack stumbled and then he jumped down following after them.

Could he really fight his old friend?

He was gone by the time he landed. Some of the tooth capsules were littering the ground. Jack looked over the detailed little box, it too was decorated with gold and bright colors that matched the tooth palace. Then on the end was the face of a child, probably the owner of the baby teeth. Tooth was on the ground staring at another canister. Jack kneeled next to her.

"I'm sorry about the fairies." He looked at baby tooth.

"You should have seen them, they put up such a fight." She held back a sob.

Baby Tooth flittered around Jack. "Why would Pitch take the teeth?"

"It's not the teeth he wanted. It's the memories inside them." She gazed at the tube, running her delicate fingers over the designs.

"What do you mean?"

"That's why we collect the teeth Jack, they hold the most important memories of childhood." She flitted up with all her strength leading Jack over to the huge mural on the wall. Children from all over the world decorated the wall. "My fairies and I watch over them, and when someone needs to remember what's important we help them." She paused biting her lip, she was still trying not to cry. How could she let this happen? She should have taken the threat more seriously. She was about to lose everything. "We had everyone's here… yours too." She put a hand on Jack's shoulder.

"Mine?" Jack paused, he never lost any teeth, and certainly never had a visit from the Tooth Fairy.

"Yes, from when you were young. Before you became Jack Frost." She smiled as though the answer was obvious.

Jack felt the breath leave him. That… couldn't… be… He tried to find words as his mind tried to grasp what he was just told. How was it he had no memory of his previous life. What could that mean? Could it hold the answers he's been screaming for? No, it just couldn't be. He wasn't anyone before he was Jack Frost. He just was. "But.. I wasn't anything before I was Jack Frost."

"We were all somebody before we were chosen." Tooth could see the distress in Jack's face.

Jack didn't realize he was holding his breath. He gasped as the realization was slowly working through his mind. "You mean I had a life?! A-A Family?!" He ran his fingers through his frosty hair. How could this be, did the Man in the Moon know? Of course he did. Jack's excitement died off quickly, it was all gone. It didn't matter now who they were, what he was. All that was now was Jack Frost. His family must have died a long time ago not that it mattered. Maybe he was just a boy who fell through the ice. He clenched his fists.

"Jack you really don't remember?" Tooth touched his shoulder.

He smacked away her hand, he didn't need her pity. A dark look crossed his eyes, his heart burned with a new found rage, at the people who knew his memories but never found the time to tell him. Centuries of screaming until his voice gave out and not one of them came to his aid. The wind picked up and swirled around the guardians. The temperature dropped and the tooth palace began to freeze.

"Jack?! What are you doing?" Tooth yelled over the wind.

Jack glared at her she knew, she knew more than the rest that his memories were here. She knew that, and she told him she knew when someone needed to remember what is important. This was her fault, more than the others. She must have known, the whole time and she did nothing. Jack raised his staff and froze her where she was flying, her delicate wings clutched in ice. He watched her drop down into the water, she was just barely clinging to the edge of his frozen path. A sinister smile contorted his face and dark circles appeared below his ice blue eyes. She gasped and dug her nails into the ice.

There was a stunning silence as Jack pointed his staff at Tooth. No one could believe their eyes, Jack Frost, who Man in the Moon chose to be the new guardian, was attacking them. He was supposed to be the key to defeating Pitch and he was now a powerful enemy.

Jack finally had someone to blame for centuries of pain, he could have found his family a long time ago, maybe had some closure in his life, but no, she, she took that away by not revealing his memories. She was so filled with fear, and in that moment Jack finally understood Pitch, it was… invigorating… to wield this power over someone, someone so helpless and frail. He shivered at the sheer pleasure it gave him. He sent a bolt of frost through his staff freezing her solid with that scared look on her face. He then let her body sink to the bottom of the pond.

Sandman, Bunnymund and North couldn't believe what they had just seen, Jack had single handedly killed Tooth, well, maybe she wasn't dead yet, but he made sure she couldn't fight back. With their jaws on the floor and their hearts in their throats they watched as Jack turned to face them. Bunny was the first to strike as he leaped forward, only to be tossed aside by a gust of wind, he was knocked unconscious from the force as Jack slowly began to approach the remaining guardians. North came at him swords drawn, but it was all for naught as Jack dropped his staff to the ground and froze him where he stood. His eyes set on moving forward, he simply walked past Sandman, who was wise enough not to attack him, after all someone needed to save Tooth from a watery grave.

Jack took to the sky leaving the Guardians behind, he had to pay an old friend a visit.

DUN DUN DUN Plot twist of the century. Be prepared for some black ice this is the moment I think all of you have been waiting for.
