One Year Later...

Sakura sat on the wooden porch and let out a sigh. The Sakura blossoms around the Haruno compound had bloomed and were strode throughout from the wind. It set off a beautiful gleam in the midday light. Sakura always loved spring, it marked her new beginning in life. It also marked the season when she opened her first clinic. She was a very successful woman with many faithful patients that visited the clinic regularly. Her hair had grown out long again with all its pink gleam. She now sported her clans symbol proudly and trained regularly. She had restored the Haruno compound into its former glory as well. However, it was empty besides the maids, landscapers, and one other person.

She looked over at the little play blanket beside of her. The baby boy looked up at her and let out a soft giggle. Sakura smiled at her precious boy. He was only five months old, and he already had a prosperous ninja future ahead of him. He had light skin with light red hair. His eyes reminded her of Gaara. In fact, the baby resembled his father in every aspect. The only exception was that he was a social child, always giggling and smiling at his mother.

She would never forget the shock she had when she found out she was pregnant, but a smile graced her lips with tears that ran down her face that day. She almost started crying again, but instead grabbed the baby bottle and her precious baby boy. She cradled him as she fed him. Sakura never slept with another man or even looked for a husband, she waited for Gaara. However, he hasn't arrived yet. The thought of him forgetting her completely crossed her mind often, but looking at her baby was enough to keep her smile going.

She restored the capital house of the compound for her baby and her to stay in, and hopefully, one day, Gaara too. She knew he was the future Kazekage of Suna, so when she found out that her compound was in Suna, happiness spread throughout her entire being. The compound was amazing. Compared to the rest of Suna, the compound was filled with foliage and very little sand. Sand did not bother her though. In fact, she ventured into the town often to just be graced by its presence. She was losing hope on Gaara returning to her, but she promised she would never be with another. Her baby boy was enough to help restore the clan for her and bring her joy.

As she sat on the porch, she sat the baby bottle to her side. Her baby had fallen asleep. Looking up in the air, she closed her eyes and inhaled. The smell of nature entered her nostrils. Hearing her front door slide open, she stiffened. To not bring alarm to her baby, she cradled him and remained calm. Focusing chakra into her senses, she tried to identify the intruder. The chakra was strong, and she could not identify who it was, yet it held familiarity to it. She held her baby closer and tighter to her being. The footsteps landed beside her and kept walking, off her porch. She heard the crunching of ground as the person walked.

She opened her eyes to see a man standing before her. He wore the robes meant for the Kazekage, but she didn't notice at first. She watched as he took off the traditional Suna hat used for blocking sun. A pale face appeared. His eyes outlined with black and his hair a dark red. The expression on his face showed love and disbelief. She spotted the symbol on his forehead, and recognized the man immediately. Her smile spread clear across her face and tears started to come out of her eyes. Standing up, she approached the man with her baby in her hands.

"Gaara? Is it really you?" She held the baby with one arm as her other went to his face and stroked the side of it. "I've missed you Sakura." His face nuzzled into her touch. His eyes shot down to the baby. "Who is this?" Her touch fell, and at first she worried about his reaction, but spoke up clear for him to hear. "This is your son, Gaara. His name is Kazuye." She smiled up at him. "Meaning one blessing. I named him that because you blessed me with him and he was the start to my new beginning. I thought I would never see you again Gaara, but I waited for you." His hand reached up to whip away a tear as he leaned in and kissed her. Sparks flew and she knew that he was there to stay. Their love was still there and had never left. "Can I hold him?" He asked softly while Sakura handed Kazuye to him. The baby had awoken and looked up at him with a smile and giggle. Gaara returned the smile with passion in his eyes. Sakura and Gaara looked up at each other and smiled. They had a life together beginning now.

"Sakura" Gaara stared at her passionately. "Will you marry me?" She laughed and replied with a kiss. "Of course!"
