Never Forgotten

Ahoyhoy. This is an alternate ending to Lilo and Stitch. I love alternate endings, especially sad ones.

Here he was.

Stitch stood on the ramp of the ship, his paws in handcuffs even he couldn't break. He knew it would do no good. He had been allowed his goodbyes and now had to face his problem. He felt great pain as he looked over the faces of his family, the ones that had destroyed his evil and made him happy for the short time he was with them. His eyes were mainly on Lilo now.

Lilo's big brown eyes were filled with silent tears as she clutched Stitch's adoption papers. She had tried to use them to free him, but it did no good.

A sharp jab forced Stitch forward, into the dark ship. He could make out the silvery form of a cage. This was his fate. He would face it as bravely as Lilo had faced what seemed like her's. One more time, Stitch turned to his family.

"I'll remember you," he said, repeating Lilo's words. With their eyes, they shared one last goodbye. Then a cruel kick knocked him into the ship and into the cage. The door was locked firmly shut and the hatch doors were closed. Lilo and Nani, his family, his ohana, vanished from sight.

A rumble and vibration told Stitch that the ship was taking off into space. His mind turned to his life.

A distant memory leaked into his mind. Of being strapped onto a cold, metal table with Jumba looking at him. Jumba poking him with a cold, steel probe that only made anger rise in Stitch. Dinosaur-like agents bursting in and forcing him into a tiny glass capsule and hauled to the trial.

And once again, Stitch was a prisoner. Only this time, he had lost so much along with his freedom. Once more, he grabbed a cuff with his teeth and tried to bite it off. He only suceeded in making his gum bleed slightly. He sighed. Even if he could get out, he had black, endless space around the ship. He was trapped one way or another.

Suddenly, the ship stopped. Two agents came in and forced Stitch out of the cage, then the ship, then into a small building. It was cold and bright inside. Swiveling his ears and taking in whiffs of the air, Stitch was able to determine that this was a lab. It stank of antiseptic that burned Stitch's nostrils and sinuses. He was forced out of the handcuffs and on top of a cold, metal table that was much like the one he had been created on. He saw long, gleaming instruments and realized that the worst was happening. He was going to be killed.

Why had Jumba even created Stitch if he only was going to be killed anyway? Why did he have to suffer like this? He didn't know.

His thoughts left himself and turned to Lilo and Nani. They would stay together, seeing as it had all been a freak accident. Stitch felt relief that he hadn't ruined their lives completley.

He sighed. His life had been so short, but mostly so eventful and thanks to Lilo and Nani, pleasant. He thought of them and didn't notice the dull burning of the laser that was pointed at his heart, slowly stopping his body from working.

The end had come but as the world vanished from his vision forever, Stitch thought of what Lilo had taought him. Ohana meant family. Family meant no one was left behind. And although that had proved wrong, Stitch knew that they would not forget him. And in spirit, he would never forget them.
