Chapter 13
Reality

"Hikari."

Optimus took a few steps back when the Nobody began to pull herself up. He never took his eyes off of the Nobody. It was impossible. It was just impossible that Hikari was the one who summoned those Nobodies to attack his comrades and kidnap Director Galloway. The brunette was once a cheerful, short-tempered and caring girl, but now she was devoid of all emotions. He didn't saw hesitation in her eyes when she threw Director Galloway or when she attacked him. This wasn't the girl he knew. This was a Nobody.

The Nobody opened her mouth just a little, but closed it again. Her gloved hand began to emit light and a keyblade appeared. It wasn't the same white-colored key, this time, it was all black with glowing blue lines. She stood in her signature fighting stance, her face might still lack emotions, but her eyes showed no remorse. Without any warning, she sprinted forward.

Optimus was taken aback when the Nobody suddenly appeared in front of him, her keyblade drawn back to stab him on his chest. He quickly swerve, avoiding the keyblade. The Nobody averted her eyes to Optimus and swung her keyblade to his neck. Optimus raised his hand up, blocking her attack. He held the shaft to avoid the teeth of the keyblade. Although he's a holoform, his bipedal-form could feel the pain of his holoform.

He ducked down and grabbed the Nobody's collar, throwing her off his shoulder. She landed on her feet, skidding to a stop with her keyblade ready in hand. She charged forward, jumping when she was in front of Optimus. The Autobot stepped back, making the Nobody miss. He avoided the kicks directed to his head. He didn't want to hurt the youngling. She was like his daughter. They were family, even if Hikari decides to join the Darkness.

The fight continues from one roof to the other. Optimus kept on dodging and blocking the attacks Hikari gave him. He was afraid that if he returned the attacks, the girl would be wounded. He's an Autobot, the commander, the Prime…he could easily kill the girl. He didn't want that, but for some reason, he felt that this wasn't the real Hikari. The real one wouldn't fight him to the death let alone hit him on purpose.

Optimus' eyes widened when the Nobody jabbed his stomach with the hilt of the keyblade. He quickly moved back, barely dodging the butterfly kick. The Nobody reached her hand out. Optimus knew that hand gesture. He dodge rolled away when spikes of ice from the Nobody's palm flew to the previous spot Optimus has been. He glanced back to the spot, the spikes of ice shimmered in the sunlight.

He balled up his hands into fists. "Hikari why—No…Who are you?" he asked sternly, correcting himself. It was more like a demand rather than a question. The Nobody didn't answer. Optimus furrowed his eyebrows down. He didn't want to believe that this is the Hikari he knew. "Where is Hikari? What have you done to the youngling?" he pressed, trying to get answers.

"I am her."

For the first time, Optimus has heard the Nobody's voice. He compared Hikari's voice with the Nobody's. It was a match, but the Nobody could just be imitating.

"That is impossible. You are not Hikari." Optimus asserted, standing up to his feet. "She would never attack." He added, his expression grim.

The Nobody stared at Optimus before dashing forward, knocking the Autobot commander off his feet once more. Just when the holoform was about to get up, the keyblade was lowered dangerously close to the holoform's neck. He could just escape, but he wanted answers. His electric blue eyes glared at the golden-yellow ones.

The Nobody let out a soft sigh, "Can't you see, Optimus Prime?" she began calmly, staring down at the Autobot commander. Her free hand reached into the coat's pocket, taking something out. Optimus' eyes widened in shock and disbelief. The Nobody held the object between her thumb and finger, showing Optimus the small shard. It was the AllSpark shard that Hikari has always kept.

"I am Hikari."

Ventus jumped out of the way when a thorn was shot directly at him. He avoided dozens of thorns, deflecting them when it was too close. The blond keyblade wielder skidded to a stop, meters away from the Twilight Thorn. He glanced over to Colonel Lennox and Captain Epps, who were taking cover behind the fountain. They shot a couple of times at the Twilight Thorn, hitting it by the large hand.

The keyblade wielder threw his keyblade at the thorn heading for Colonel Lennox and Captain Epps. He cast a Strike Raid, slicing the thorn in half. He jumped up, catching his keyblade when it spun back to him.

"Oh freaking heck! What the—?!" Captain Epps shouted when the piece of sliced thorn landed beside him. His dark eyes widened at the sight of the giant white thorn disappearing in white numbers. "Look at the size of that thing! It's freaking huge, man!" he shouted to Colonel Lennox who ignored his comment.

Colonel Lennox was busy observing the disappearing thorn. As far as he knew, Nobodies doesn't disappear in numbers or codes. From the days of fighting Nobodies with the help of the keyblade wielders, he knew that the Nobodies would disappear in white flames. He doesn't need to be told twice about that. So if this was a Nobody doesn't it supposed to disappear in white flames? And of course, the thorn has to disappear in white flames too.

"Epps!" Colonel Lennox shouted, stopping the African American man from rambling. The dark-skinned man turned to face his friend. The black-haired soldier turned to Captain Epps, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Cover for me." He ordered before sprinting towards Ventus.

Captain Epps look baffled. "Co-Cover for you?! Are you serious?! I can't deflect a thorn that's big as my car!" he shouted before standing up from his cover, shooting at the Twilight Thorn. He screamed all the way until he was out of bullets. He took a few seconds reloading his guns before shooting the Twilight Thorn again. This time, he got a clear head shot. The Twilight Thorn stumbled back a step. "Did you guys see that?! The head is the weak spot!" he pointed out.

Colonel Lennox glanced over to the giant Nobody before moving his gaze to Ventus, dragging him away from the battlefield, letting the Triplets do their work. The two hid in the alley, their backs pressed against the wall. Soundwave was with them, along with Director Galloway's knocked-out bodyguards.

"Ven, that isn't a Nobody." Colonel Lennox said, reloading his gun.

The blond raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?" he asked, confused. Was Colonel Lennox blind or something? From every point he sees, that is a Nobody. There wasn't any more doubt. "That's a Nobody, a Twilight Thorn to be specific." He continued with a frown.

"Yeah, yeah, I know that, but this one's thorn disappears in numbers. Codes." Colonel Lennox began, pointing his finger at the spot where Captain Epps was hiding. The thorns were still they, disappeared slowly. "From what I've learnt, the Nobodies disappear in white flames. Not codes or numbers. So this one isn't a Nobody." He explained.

Ventus seemed to be in thought for a moment. "…I guess you're right." He lifted his chin up, showing a determinant look. He gripped his keblade tightly, holding it in a reversal way. "So what now?" he asked the Communication Officer and the NEST field commander.

Soundwave stayed silent for a moment. Underneath the dark-colored visor, crimson red eyes observed the scene before him, calculating everything. Moving with his bi-pedal form to here was a total no. He wouldn't fit through the narrow alley. He could only give tactics to the triplets and the humans.

"Tactic: Tornado motion." Soundwave spoke monotonously.

Colonel Lennox raised an eyebrow. "But doesn't Ven need Hikari to do that?"

"Solution: Elita can be Hikari's replacement."

Colonel Lennox and Ventus shared a glance. "That could work." The keyblade wielder smirked.

"Have you comm. linked Elita about it?" The Caucasian man asked.

Soundwave gave a silent nod.

"Alright, Ven. Let's end this." Colonel Lennox said, staring up at the blond who was already standing, eager to end the battle.

Ventus nodded. He did an air slide to the wall beside him, jumping off of it to activate the Flow Motion. He did a series of Wall Kicks to get near the pink Autobot, taking out Dusks on his way to the Autobot.

"Elita!" Said Autobot turned around. She saw Ventus coming her way in speed. She quickly reached out her servo, opening her palm. The keyblade wielder landed on her servo in a squatting position, ready to be thrown off. Swiftly, she threw Ventus at the Twilight Thorn's head.

Ventus squinted his eyes as he breaks through the wind. He lifted his keyblade, drawing it further back to slash the Twilight Thorn's head. He swung his keyblade forward, slashing the head across. The Twilight Thorn staggered back, falling backwards. Gravity took Ventus back to the ground. In great height, he managed to land on the stoned road safely with a soft thud. He watched as the Twilight Thorn disappeared while falling backwards. His eyes narrowed at the white codes coming from the Twilight Thorn. Colonel Lennox was right.

"Is it over?" Captain Epps asked as he stood up from his hiding spot. The African American man let out a soft sigh as he approached the blond. "Nice job, Ven." He patted his shoulder, smirking. "And girls." He turned his head to the female Autobots.

Ventus smiled. "I wouldn't have done it without your help." He bowed his head in thanks.

Colonel Lennox laughed, ruffling Ventus' spiky hair. "We should be the one thanking you, Ven. Not the other way around." The man said, placing his gun back to its holster.

The keyblade wielder could only laugh.

"Mirage, you're…back?" Chromia trailed off when she saw the Italian holoform. Her bi-pedal form shifted down to her alt-mode, along with her two sisters. The triplets' holoform flickered on, appearing next to each other. The woman with the single purple streaks crossed her arms over her chest, raising a perfectly trimmed eyebrow. "Literally… what's on your back?" she asked.

The Italian holoform grumbled something under his breath before clearing his throat. "Director Galloway, it is safe to let go." He grunted in his normal thick accent. "Before I personally do it for you." he added, crossing his arms.

Director Galloway hesitantly got off of Mirage's back. He straightened his black jacket suit by the lapel, fixing his red tie as well. He pushed his glasses up and cleared his throat, getting back to his old grouchy self. The man marched his way to Ventus and Colonel Lennox, pointing his finger accusingly at the keyblade wielder. His face was twisted up in a scowl, his nose scrunched up and his eyebrows furrowed down.

"You! You! This is your fault!" Director Galloway hissed, jabbing his finger on Ventus's chest. The blond keyblade wielder glared at the bespectacled man, his sharp blue eyes darkening a little. His lips were set in a thin line when Director Galloway kept on accusing him. "I got kidnapped and almost got killed! You've brought that—that thing with you!" he shouted, referring to the Nobody.

Colonel Lennox stepped forward. "Hold on, Director Galloway. Ven saved us all from the Twilight Thorn and he didn't bring that Nobody with him." He defended.

"He is right, Director Galloway." Elita agreed, nodding her head. She glanced around. Her sparkmate, the commander was missing. "Has anyone seen Optimus?" she asked worriedly.

Mirage turned his head to the woman. "The last time I have seen him, he was chasing the Nobody." He answered, recalling the memories.

Ventus tightened his grip on his keyblade, his knuckles turning white from the pressure he was giving. "I'm going to look for him." He said, preparing to make an air slide.

"There is no need, Ven." A deep baritone voice stopped Ventus from moving. It was Optimus Prime in holoform. The gang—minus Director Galloway—looked relief to see the Autobot Commander safe and sound. Their expression dropped when they saw the grim look on their leader's face. He looked somehow different.

Mirage stared at his leader. "Did you get the Nobody, sir?" he asked, breaking the silence.

Optimus lowered his head a little, staring at the ground. He lifted his head up, locking his eyes with Ventus. The blond keyblade wielder stiffened when he saw his electric blue eyes. They weren't the same wise looking ones. They were filled with hurt and betrayal.

"D-Did something happened, Optimus?" Ventus stuttered a little at the beginning. He stared at Optimus worriedly, summoning his keyblade away.

"Ven," Optimus called. Ventus patiently waited for the Autobot commander to continue. "Where is Hikari?" he asked.

Ventus blinked, smiling a little. "She's back at Disney Palace. She'll come by and visit. Why ask?"

Optimus stayed silent for a few seconds. He glanced around to his comrades, the same frown still plastered on his lips. "The Nobody that I was chasing is….Hikari." he stated, betrayal in his voice.

"What?! You gotta be joking, Optimus! The goofy and childish girl is the Nobody?! You must be seeing things." Captain Epps said in disbelief, laughing a little as he punched Optimus's shoulder playfully. Everyone—except Soundwave and Director Galoway—joined in the little laugh, but it soon died down when Optimus didn't show any sign of making a funny. "…you're not joking, now are you?" he asked with a little doubt this time.

Optimus shook his head. "I have encountered the Nobody and fought her until her identity was reviled. She is indeed Hikari." The Autobot commander said with his eyes closed and eyebrows furrowed down. He regretted not being able to bring back the girl with him. She escaped at the last minute, throwing the shard to Optimus.

"For you, Optimus Prime. A reminder for you of my old self." He could still perfectly hear the Nobody's voice before she disappeared. "Because I am never coming back."

The Autobot commander took out the small shard from his pocket, holding it out for the others to see. "The Nobody has the shard… Hikari always have the shard with her."

"Holy smokes…" Colonel Lennox sucked in a deep breath.

Director Galloway snorted. "Not only you brought those creatures with you, you brought your possessed friend to destroy the world." He grumbles under his breath, crossing his arms over his chest.

Ventus' eyes widened. "That's impossible! She's at Disney Palace!" he disagreed. He quickly pulled out the device, pressing a button before holding it out. "I'll prove it to you." He said, waiting for the other line to be picked up.

"Ugh… what do you want now Ven?" An annoyed voice came from the other line. "Can't you see that I'm busy? Oh yeah, you can't! 'Cause you're over at Earth having a vacation while I'm here working my butt off!" the voice huffed angrily.

"See?" Ventus looked up, giving an 'I told you so' look.

Optimus' eyes widened at the voice. It was Hikari's. "Little one?" he asked, confused.

"Huh? Is Optimus with you? Yohooo! Hi boss bot! Can you hear me? Are the others with you? Say Hi to them for me!" The voice cheerfully shouted.

"How's that even possible? If this is Hikari, then who's the other one?" Arcee inquired.

"Conclusion: One must be a fake." Soundwave responded, answering Arcee's question.

"Hello~! Anyone there? Huh… must be a bad signal… thanks a lot Ven…" she hung up.

Colonel Lennox raised his hands up, "Hang on. I'm really confused here. Which one is which?" he asked, rubbing his temples. All of this nonsense were messing up his thoughts. First Optimus said that the Nobody is Hikari, then Ventus proved that Hikari is still back at Disney Palace, but the Nobody Optimus is talking about has the AllSpark shard Hikari has! So which one is it? "Just how much Hikari is really out there?" he let out a soft sigh under his breath.

"Could someone tell me what the hell is going on?!" Director Galloway bellowed.

Ventus glared at the Director. "Two Hikaris. One fake and one real. One bad and one nice. The bad one is here while the nice one is over at Disney Palace. To sum it all up, your world is in danger if the real Hikari is siding over the Darkness." He concluded.

"Why's that?" Colonel Lennox asked.

"A keyblade wielder who works for the darkness… is just like facing your worst nightmare…only ten times worse."
