Chasing Purple Hair

He was supposed to be looking for her – the girl with the caramel skin, brown hair and brown eyes – the Gallagher Girl, but all he could do was stare at the other one. The girl with the purple hair. She didn't fit in with the group of girls she stood with, they all held handbags and wore mini-skirts but from the banter that went around the group, he could see that they were friends.

But Grant knew better than to fraternise with normal girls, although he really wanted to. The boy next to him sighed. His partner and friend I supposed you could call him was the infamous Zachary Goode. His mother was the head of the COC – Circle of Cavern – the contract that they'd all been blindly looped into the minute they stepped through the front gates of Blackthorne. It wasn't all bad though, Grant thought watching some civilian boys flirt with the girls – with his girl – he chuckled to himself. Claiming a girl he hadn't even spoken too. Sometimes he wished he was normal, but didn't all Blackthorne Boys?

He nudged Zach, wanting to ask for a favour but when he followed the green eyed boys gaze he saw that he had been captivated by a blonde haired girl. Grant chuckled, slapping Zach on the arm.

"Is someone about to claim dibs on the girl?" he let out a laugh when he saw Zach's annoyed face.

"Funny." he looked around and then smirked. "I was about to ask you the same thing, don't think I didn't see you looking at the girl with purple hair. A bit out of your league don't you think?"

Grant scoffed, leaning back on the bench. "Out of everyone's league."

"Why?" questioned Zach, mimicking his friend's stance and crossing his arms over his chest.

"She's normal," whispered Grant, like it was a secret, like he didn't want the world to know that he might be falling for a normal girl he hadn't even met.

Zach's eye brows rose and he sighed. "Look," he pointed to the blonde girl he had been ogling moments ago. She and her friend wondered off inside the building, out of their sight. "They're gone. Go and chat up Miss Mundane and I'll text you if she's coming your way."

Grant was astonished. He had been told many times that trusting another Blackthorne Boy was like holding a bomb with an invisible timer. You never knew when your trust would run out. But, something from the look that Zach gave him made him take Zach up on his offer.

"Thanks man," he shook hands with Zach.

"No problem."

He left his seat but couldn't help looking back at Zach, would he be able to trust him? Shaking his head and deciding that yes, he could trust Zach, Grant jogged over to the spot that his beauty was just standing at. He looked around, his blue eyes scanning the crowd and then he saw her. Or did she see him? Her face was lit up – and it wasn't thanks to the street light – and she winked before running off. Grant whistled; it was like this girl wanted him to chase her. And boy did he agree.

He followed her, smiling like a mad man. Dipping in between people, politely shoving them out the way but then smiling even wider when he got closer to the purple hair. He reached out his fingers; boy did he want to touch it. She slipped around the corner and before following her, Grant cleared his throat and popped his collar. He was ready for whatever she gave him.

"Hey," he drawled, leaning in a very model-like pose against the wall.

She smiled, it was cat like. "Hello stranger." She quirked a brow, staring at Grant. "So, ready to tell me what you find interesting?"

He smiled, leaning forward. He could smell her cinnamon scent. "I am if you are."

She chuckled, playing with her ripped fish-net tights before scuffing her combat-boots on the concrete. "I like you." she declared. "But I feel like there's something more to you."

Grants breathe hitched. Was this girl secretly a Gallagher Girl? He wished, but she liked him and that was all that mattered. "I like you too. And I wish I had more time." and just on cue his phone buzzed and he received a text. It was from Zach and although it wasn't the girl who was supposed to be tailing him, it was a Gallagher Girl nonetheless coming his way.

He leaned even closer. "I have to go."

"Will I see you again?" she asked, fluttering her long eye lashes. Grant shook his head sadly. "Well then, I'd better give you this," she grabbed him by the collar and kissed him. It took Grant a moment – a nanosecond – to respond and soon enough they were kissing. His lips on hers. . Grant was kissing the girl he had just met and yet, it felt like he'd known her for a lifetime.

She let go although she didn't want to. He didn't understand until he heard the girlish giggles coming from behind him. "Alright ladies?" he flashed a million dollar smile towards them which made the girls squeal even louder.

"Don't encourage them," she sighed before smiling again. "Maybe I will see you again." she winked before dragging her friends away from the blushing boy who wished that she could take him with her.

When he got back Zach was currently taking what looked like a nap but when Grant sat down Zach leaped up. "So, how did it go? I'm guessing from the lip-gloss smudged lips that you got what you wanted?"

Grant sighed. No, he didn't get what he wanted. "Sure," he decided on. Zach struck up a conversation about nothing and the two of them bantered for a while until the girls came back. Grant knew when because Zach's words became mumbles on his mouth and bubbles on his tongue.

"Ooh, she's leaving," he looked ready to tail until he looked back at Grant. "Are you going to be okay?" he asked laced with genuine concern.

Grant smiled and slapped Zach on the back. "Go and get her."

Zach smiled in thanks before jogging off to find the girl. He came back only a moment later informing him that his tail was there too. Both boys went and trailed the girls until they had to split up. Zach followed blondie into the elevator while he followed her friend.

Grant sighed; he was chasing brown hair instead of purple.

I have no idea where this came from but I'm proud of it. I've become a real fan of Grant and I have another one of him in my head but I warn you it is Grant/Cammie because I kinda like them but no Zach/Bex…that's just wrong.

So I hope you've enjoyed this, leave a review if you did and I'm glad to be writing one-shots again!

Remember, I love you guys :)

With love,
