This is a random plot bunny that I CAN'T get out of my head! It's a Danny/Danielle father/daughter fic.

I stared off into space, trying to keep myself awake through Mr. Lancer's dull lecture about the great works of Shakesphere- or whatever poet we were studying this week. There were only a couple of minutes left in class, but by this hour I was always tired of school. It was just something about the last class before lunch, I guess.

I looked off to the side at Tucker, who was messing around with this new app on his PDA. It was some stupid knockoff of Pacman, but in Amity Park style with 'Amity Park Ghosts'. Oh, how entertaining. He's only had it for two days but he already beat my high score that took weeks to get to!

Then I glanced at Sam, who was either writing or doodling in her notebook. She looked like she was taking notes but I knew her enough to know she was probably drawing my latest fight or making notes to herself about what to add to our ghost files.

After that, I looked towards Valerie. Her eyes were on the board but weren't focused on it. A hand was on the side of her face and I noticed how her eyelids were drooping. It looks like I wasn't the only one with a rough night.

I sighed, then looked back at the clock. It was still a minute or so until class let out. Heh. Maybe Clockwork can fast forward time for me now. I thought, internally chuckling. Then, as if someone heard my thoughts, the bell rang. Thanks, Clockwork. I thought, smiling a little bit.

Still smiling, I gathered my stuff and stood up. I looked around for Sam and Tucker as everyone else filed out of the classroom and filled the air with mindless talking. Tucker walked over to me with Sam in suit, each having their stuff. Sam quickly closed her notebook and Tuck shoved his PDA into his back pocket. "Dull lecture, huh?" Tucker asked.

I nodded a little. "Yeah. Who was it this time? Fr-" I started before I cut myself off. I could hear something, but I didn't know what. "Did you hear that?"

"Hear what?" Sam asked, confused. "A g- you know what?" She said, quieting down after seeing there were still people in the room.

I shook my head. "No, I think I'm imagining things. It's nothing." I quickly said, looking around. "Anyway, let's get to lunc-"

"Daddy!"

I instantly stiffened, recognizing the voice from somewhere. Sam and Tucker didn't seem to hear anything which meant it was coming from a while away…

"Daddy!" I heard the voice scream again, louder this time.

Danielle.

Without even thinking, I handed my stuff off to Sam and Tucker. "Be right back!" I yelled out, running through the door without bothering to fill them in.

"Daddy! Help!" Her voice was ringing in my head.

I ran outside, not understanding what was coming over me. No one was outside yet, so I thought it was safe. I formed the halos around my waist and quickly separated them, turning into my ghost half within five seconds.

I dashed off in the direction of the voice and was there within a minute. It took a second before I could begin processing the scene in front of me. Danielle, on the verge of transforming, had a net over her that seemed to electrocute her. She was thrashing from the pain and I couldn't help but wince with sympathy. Mom and Dad were smiling a couple of yards away, as they came closer to her fallen form- not seeing this as torture, but as a way to capture a specimen.

Something inside of me clicked, and an angry look formed on my face. I zoomed between them and Danielle while yelling out, "Get away from her!" My own voice even startled me with its harshness. It made me sound more like a typical bloodthirsty ghost that mom and dad describe.

I cast those thoughts aside as I closed my eyes and tried to focus on forming a duplicate. It took some effort but I formed it. My duplicate looked back at me before looking forward at Mom and Dad, determined to stop them from making any offensive movements toward us.

Seeing that it was now safe to get to Danielle, I rushed over to her side. She twitched in pain from the electricity as I quickly tore the net off of her. Her eyes were cloudy and confused as she looked at me. "Da- dadd- Danny?" She stuttered out. "What's going on…?" She said quietly, not being able to speak any louder because of the lingering pain.

I smiled a bit at her. My duplicate ignored us, and just sat there watching the Fentons. My mom was the first to speak. "B- But, I thought ghosts couldn't have children..." She stuttered out, not knowing what else to say.

"The- they can't. It's impossible." Dad whispered, then I realized what happened. Dani called out for her daddy, and I'm the one who responded to her… And a few minutes ago, she was about to say 'Daddy' again… I might be clueless but even I can tell what's going on.

My duplicate shook its head, knowing that ghosts can have kids- from that horrible time travel trip gone sour. "They can." The duplicate whispered- remembering about Box Lunch's weird existence.

I looked at Dani protectively, not really believing this was real. "The Fentons had an electric net on you. And you were about to go 'unghost'." I whispered to her, so my parents couldn't hear. "But I came in and stopped them." I told her.

"Oh. Thanks Dad-Danny. I'm fine now. I can get up..." She said and I frowned a little, barely catching her slip.

"No you aren't, Dani." I told her. Then I switched the topic. "But, because of both of our actions and words, everyone is thinking you're my daughter." I informed her with a bit of awkwardness, waiting to see the expression on her face. She seemed a bit embarrassed, but eager about something at the same time. "You wanna give them a run for their money?" I quietly asked her, a mischievous smile on my face.

Her face turned into a smile, and she nodded. "Sure." Dani tried to stand up again, and this time I let her. She floated upwards a little, and I did too. We both turned to face the Fentons, and I reabsorbed my duplicate.

"How Phantom? How?" Mom questioned, an ectogun pointed at me. Dad had one pointed at me too.

I looked at Dani for a second, and she smiled. I shrugged in response, but then they fired the ectogun at me. My eyes flashed brighter for a second, and I formed an ecto-shield to protect us.

As soon as the attack was over Dani smiled some more. The shield had held up against their attacks, and it had no dents in it. The only sign that it had been hit was the green smoke coming off of it. "Nice work... D- daddy." She said, stumbling over the word daddy. Something about hearing her call me daddy made me smile despite the awkwardness. Acting's fun.

"Thanks Dani." I responded, looking back to them, just now noticing the news helicopters flying overhead. "Wait, where did those news-copters come from?" I asked her, confused and a little embarrassed.

She shrugged. "They were there when I was first caught in the net." She explained.

"So now, I guess the whole world knows I have an amazing daughter." I told her, and her grin became so large I thought her mouth was going to pop out. Might as well put on a show for the media. And screwing with Mom and Dad's heads is fun. I looked at Mom and Dad, who were still in shock.

Than I was tackled by Danielle into a bear hug. I was surprised at first, then I hugged her back. "Yup." Dani commented. "I am amazing." I rolled my eyes at her comment.

"Yeah. But I'm more amazing." I commented, sticking out my tongue at her. She stuck her tongue out at me in response. We both laughed a little, ignoring my parents now because they were too surprised to be threats. "Let's get out of here before they recover from their shock." I told her, and she nodded. Dani grabbed my wrist and turned us intangible; she took us underground.

She pulled me around the darkness for a little while until she deemed that we'd traveled enough to surface from the ground. The light hurt my eyes for a second but then it was easy to see that we were near the high school. I really should be happy that it gets so dark when more ghosts then just me are nearby. I thought to myself. "I guess it's time I get going."

I shook my head at that thought. "To where? It's not like you have a place to stay Dani." I pointed out. "And it's not like the media's gonna leave you alone after what just happened either."

She groaned a little in annoyance. "Then where am I supposed to stay? Your place? I don't want to be a bother, and I don't want to be the cause of your secret being revealed to your parents. What good will that do us?" She remarked bitterly. "Oh, yay, I had a week in a house and now I'll be dissected in a lab. At least I didn't have to be homeless for a week." She mockingly said. "Besides, I'm just your clone and it's not like you created me. You shouldn't really be bothered with me."

My eyes snapped open at her comment and I put my hand on her shoulder. "You aren't just a clone, Dani!" I tried to get through her head. "Besides, uh… Do you know what a dad really is?" I asked, the word awkward in my mouth.

"Yeah." She said dismissively. "The cause of creation. Vlad's my creator, but I can't stand to even think about calling him Dad after the last time we saw him." Dani told me, tightening her fists. "Nobody tries to melt me…" She muttered quietly.

I shook my head. "No, a father is someone who shares DNA with someone, and a father cares about his child and would sacrifice their life for the child's." I stated. Dani looked up at me. "And I fit both categories. So, even though I am too young, technically, you are my daughter."

I shook my head a little bit. "No, technically… A dad is someone who's there to help raise a kid and would sacrifice their life for the kid… And someone who shares their DNA with the kid…" I pointed out. "And technically… I fit in both categories. Even if you weren't born the way in health class and I'm way too young to biologically have a kid your age, you still kinda are my daughter." I said.

Dani gasped a little in shock. "I thought you were just pulling an act for the cameras..." She muttered.

I smiled a bit, and shook my head again. "Not all of it." I said. "But I'm not letting any technical kid of mine wander the world aimlessly until they end up getting themselves in trouble." I said, the word 'kid' strange to say in this context.

She smiled a little at me. "But still… Where would I stay?" She asked. "I can't stay at your house with all those ghost sensors and Vlad bugging the place…" She pointed out. "And I don't want your secret revealed because of me."

"Maybe..." I trailed off, trying to think of someone who'd be able to watch a half ghost preteen. Which leaves us between Sam and Tucker… Yeah, definitely not Tucker. "Sam. Her house is way past big enough." I suggested. Sam would help. Why wouldn't she?

Dani shrugged. "Would her parents agree to it?" She asked curiously.

I already knew that answer. "Nope," I said. "but the house is big enough that you could hide a football field in there. I'm pretty sure she'd be able to hide a preteen." I said. "Besides, we could always tell Sam's grandma that you were an orphan on the street. She's pretty reasonable and besides… Who doesn't want to help orphans?" I asked jokingly.

Dani smiled. "Thanks... Dad."

Aww... There may or may not be a sequel where Valerie questions Danny like crazy because all of the newspapers show Danielle and say: "Phantom has a Daughter?"

That would just be hilarious. And sorry if this is OOC, but I just had to get it out of my head.
