"Good afternoon class. As you know, today is the first day of your oral presentations. You are required to remain silent and pay attention to your classmates. To show that you are paying attention, each of you must have asked at least one question by the end of the presentations. When you ask a question, I will cross your name out on my list, anyone who's name remains uncrossed will lose 10% of their overall grade for this assignment. Are we clear?" asked the teacher. The students remained silent. "Good. Now, something rather rare has occurred, someone has expressed interest in going first. Please pay attention while Mr. Son kicks things off with his presentation."

The young man in question stood up and walked down the amphitheater they used for class. Arriving at the front of the class, he gave a USB key to the teacher who brought his Power Point presentation up on the projector screen.

"This assignment asks of us to present an example of human excellence. Before I begin, I have two images to present," said Gohan, using a clicker to move on to the first slide. A couple of students gasped at the graphic nature of the image that appeared. "As you can see, this is a rare photograph of Cell in action. This was taken by a random tourist who happened to be out fishing while Cell destroyed a whole island."

The whole room was eerily quiet while they contemplated the destruction on screen. Gohan waited a while and then switched to the next slide.

"This is a picture of our self-proclaimed world savior fighting his opponent at the last World Martial Arts Tournament. This was taken a few moments before he valiantly overcame his opponent. It was a close fight and a great demonstration of martial arts," he explained, trying not to sound sarcastic. Gohan let the classroom reflect on the differences between the two images for a short moment. "Some of you may be wondering why I showed you these two images. Do not worry all will become clear. I decided to do my project on Mr. Satan..."

Gohan had to pause as some of his classmates erupted in cheers.

"... the greatest fraud alive," he finished, smiling wickedly.

The cheers came to a sudden halt as everyone was stunned in disbelief, mouths wide open. Gohan barely restrained his laughter, the whole thing was going even better than planned.

"For the first part of my presentation, I will examine Hercule Satan's path to the top of the martial arts scene. As many details as possible regarding his fighting ability will be provided. I will then explore the extent of Cell's power. Following that, there will be an examination of the available video footage of that fateful day. I will attempt to show that there is absolutely no reason to believe Hercule Satan defeated Cell, but that it is rather more plausible that one of the other warriors present that day actually vanquished the great foe."

"You mean the ones who used light tricks and fake explosions? If anyone's a fraud it's them!" interrupted one of the jocks, who happened to be wearing a Hercule Satan Dojo shirt.

"Yeah!" exclaimed another guy in support.

"Ah yes, that argument," smiled Gohan, "we will get to it later, don't worry. Not that it stands up to any sort of critical thinking. After all, Cell was using the same so-called tricks to destroy whole Islands and terrorize the Earth. If those tricks were fake, then Cell himself would not have been feared."

Another pause, while the students thought about what had just been said.

"I am getting side-tracked though. Let's take this presentation step-by-step. As I was saying, I will try to demonstrate that the world's savior is one of the unknown fighters, sometimes referred to as the Z-fighters. To conclude, I will show how this whole story has influenced me to try to become a more honest person and a better critical thinker. Okay! Before we delve into the world champ's life, I would like to know how many of you are 100 percent convinced that he defeated Cell. Please raise your hand."

Gohan had expected the whole class to raise their hands, but he was slightly surprised to see Videl's hand stay lowered. A small, proud smile appeared on his lips as their eyes met. However, Videl did not return his smile. In fact, she did not look in the smiling mood at all.

This is way too fun for me, but it must be hard for her. The big oaf might be a liar but he's still her father. I hope she'll forgive me, he thought as his smile disappeared.

"All right lower your hands. Now who here is aware of the fact that an army was sent to confront Cell and was completely obliterated?"

Everyone raised their hand, including the teacher who, swept up by this incredible development, had forgotten that he was supposed to be noting his pupil.

"Good, lower your hands. Now who believes that Mr. Satan can destroy an entire army?"

No one raised their hands.

"Great, now let me ask again, who here is 100 percent sure that the savior of the Earth, Mr. Satan himself, was actually the one who defeated Cell?"

This simple observation on the difference of power between Cell and Hercule had its intended effect, as around a quarter of the hands that had come up the first time stayed lowered this time. Gohan smiled at the progress he was making.

"All right, let us then examine the world champ's path to the pinnacle of martial arts..."

Complete silence.

Dumbfounded by the revelations, the whole class was completely silent at the end of Gohan's presentation. There had been so many questions and interruptions that it had lasted the whole period instead of the intended fifteen minutes. Presently, they were all lost in thought Their whole world view had been shattered. By the end of the presentation, only two people still believed Mr. Satan had been the one to defeat Cell. The rest now believed it was one of the Z-fighters.

The bell rang and Gohan made his way outside, while everyone in the class remained seated, not even realizing class was over. It is a testament to the amplitude of the day's revelation that students were not hurrying out of school although the day was done.

The first person to recover was Videl. She was mad at Gohan, but mostly had a million questions running through her mind. The Golden Fighter had told her that the she would learn the truth soon and some of it had just been revealed. She knew this couldn't be a coincidence, Gohan had to be related to the Z-fighters somehow. How else could he have had enough insight to expose her father? Her father who she did not want to think about right now. He had lied to the world, but what hurt her most was that he had lied to her! She didn't want to think about the implications, about how things would change in school, about what would happen if the truth made it out of Orange High School and into the world. No, she would focus on Gohan's secrets for now, because thinking about the real problem would make her cry and she did not want to break down in front of everyone. Her resolve set, she quickly made her way out of class, hoping to catch up to the boy who had left moments ago.

This action brought Mr. Franz out of his bubble. Remembering he had a class to take care of, he stood up, got their attention and informed them the bell had rung.

"Sharpener, Mark, before you leave can you come see me? I'm thinking that after today's revelation you might want to pick a different subject. I would be willing to give you an extra week to prepare," he informed them as the other students exited the room.

This came as a relief to Sharpener, who had been furiously trying to think of a way not to embarrass himself once his turn would come. The oral he had prepared was nothing but heaps of praise for the man who in all likelihood was a complete fake. His friend Mark had different thoughts however.

"I'll take the extra week to prepare, but I will not change subjects! This whole thing was a bunch of lies, random information presented in a way to make us believe anything! I will defend the world's saviour!" came the angry voice of Mark from the back of the class. Not only had Gohan humiliated him on the first day of class, now he was trying to insult his hero!

"Very well, I look forward to hearing your perspective. Sharpener you can come see me, I will help you find a new subject," replied the teacher, not fazed by Mark's outburst.

The calmer of the two made his way to the teacher's desk while the other one stormed out.

After exiting the classroom, Videl had ran outside, hoping she would catch up to Gohan.

"Wait up Gohan!" Videl cried out, seeing him turn into an unoccupied alley in the distance.

He waited for her to catch up and then turned around, pleasantly surprised to see his raven haired friend. He knew she was probably mad, but he couldn't stop himself from smiling as he looked upon her. She was willing to speak to him and that was a good sign.

Videl looked up at Gohan and smiled back, almost forgetting the situation at hand. There was an undeniable connection between them, his presence always chasing her worries away.

Nonetheless, what was going on was too big and too important for her to just joke around like nothing had just happened.

"I know you're related to the Z-fighters. I know you know the truth. I don't know why you exposed my father without revealing the rest of the story but I want to know! Don't think you can just smile and use your charm to distract me, I won't stop hounding you until I get my answers! And don't think I'm not mad at you! I'm furious! Furious and confused and..." Tears started flowing down Videl's cheek as she continued ranting. Breaking down was not in her plans, she had thought she could hold it in, but once she started speaking, the dam that was blocking her emotions exploded into pieces as it all flooded out. "... I don't know who my father is anymore, I don't even know who I am, everything is so confusing! And now I'm going to have to go home and face him and I don't know what to do and..."

Unable to continue, she buried her head into her hands and started crying. Gohan was heartbroken at the sight of the usually proud and confident girl looking so vulnerable. Not able to see her like this, he pulled her into his arms.

"There, there, everything will be okay. Don't cry, please don't cry" he said, soothingly.

They stayed like that for a while, Videl calming down as Gohan promised himself he would do anything in his power to never see her cry again.

Once Videl had calmed down, she raised her head from Gohan's chest and looked up at him, still in his arms.

"This doesn't change the fact that I want my answers", she said, letting out an embarrassed laughter.

While Videl, still recovering, was not fully conscious of how close she was to Gohan, the half-saiyan was completely aware of the situation. Holding her so close was affecting him in all sorts of strange ways.

"Yes I will tell you everything, so come over tonight..." he answered in a slightly weird voice, without realizing exactly what he was saying. Of course, his companion took it in the worst possible way and the intimate moment was broken.

"WHAT KIND OF GIRL DO YOU THINK I AM?!" screamed Videl as she pushed herself out of Gohan's arms, "I want those answers, but that doesn't mean I'll sleep with you for them!" she continued, turning away. How could he ask that of her?

"Wait! Wait!" cried out Gohan, "That's not what I meant! Please let me explain!"

Videl stopped and stood with her back to the boy, listening.

"It's just that, you said you didn't want to go home tonight, so I thought you could crash at my place. My mom will be there, don't worry! I just wanted to help. Plus, that way I can tell you the whole truth, you deserve it after all," he said, scratching the back of his head, an hesitant smile on his face.

Videl turned around and looked up at the half-saiyan.

"Really?" she asked.

"Yes," he replied, looking straight into her eyes, unfaltering.

"Okay, I believe you," she smiled. Recovering some of her normal aplomb, she continued, "and you better not hide anything from me, I want the whole truth! And where do you live anyways? And how are we going to get there?"

Seeing the girl's inquisitive nature come back, Gohan couldn't help but laugh in relief. Videl was a strong girl, he had no doubt she would get through this and come out stronger.

AN: So another chapter. Coming up later, secrets revealed! How will Videl react? Also, Mark will be humiliated some more! I know normally Sharpener is the butt of all the jokes, but in this fic he's not that bad. In a couple of GohanxVidel fics I've read, there is a Mark and he's always an asshole. I hate Mark! Therefore, Mark shall suffer. Also, I just realized that all three of my chapters start with the teacher addressing the classroom. Hmmm. Don't forget to review, I'm still very new at this. Negative comments are appreciated if they are constructive. Positive comments are the best! Thanks to everyone who has reviewed up till now.
