Kaguya plugged her ears with her earphones and played the topmost song on her playlist. She smiled as the intro tune of the song played in and started to hum along with it. The tune was as lively as ever, drumming through her vein, making her whole body wanting to dance to it.

It was the first song she ever made.

With him.

Ren's voice entered, syncing nicely with the tune and beat.

Kaguya looked up at the sky. It was a clear a clear summer sky. It resembled the sky of that day—the day she got her first tasked as a song composing student.

"I wonder what kind of song I would have made if my partner isn't him…" She murmured to herself as the wind blew softly, caressing her cheeks.

She closed her eyes and slowly descending to the memory of that day.

"There has got to be some mistake here, sensei!" Kaguya insisted to Ryuuya.

Today in S class, Hyuga Ryuuya, their teacher announced their first pair up task: creating a song. The idol course and the composer course were to pair up and worked together to create an original song. To decide the pair group, Ryuuya decided to do it by kuji. The composer course students must write their name on the board in front of every line that would lead to their idol course student partner.

Kaguya, as one of the composer course students, wrote her name on the fifth line from the right, making it almost in the middle. When she wrote her name, she didn't really care whoever she might be paired with as long as they could work together.

But now…

Kaguya stared at her teacher and he stared back at her for a moment, before looking at her name on the board behind him, and shook his head. "No, don't think do."

"I couldn't possibly be paired—are you sure the line was right?!" She asked again.

"Of course it's accurate." Ryuuya responded. "I made it myself."

"But—"

"Look, Nakagawa," Ryuuya raised his hand stopping her. "One of the things you need to survive in this industry is luck. And right now, this is how your luck plays out." He gestured at the orange-haired young man, currently surrounded by the girls in the corner of the class. "You'll never know, maybe he is the perfect partner for you in this task."

Kaguya opened her mouth to argue, but think better of it and sighed through her nose.

"Give him a chance." Her teacher added. "You never know."

She nodded in defeat and headed back to her seat.

Kaguya watched as everyone else talks with their partner—well, some of them—since some of the girls were surrounding Jinguji Ren. She wished she had the courage to go into the crowds of girls and pull the young man out and talk to him, but alas, she hadn't.

She dared a glance at the crowd and somehow, her eyes caught Ren's. He smiled and winked at her in response, and Kaguya, feeling a brush of annoyance, returned it with a grossed out look.

At that, Ren let out a bark of laughter, which earned confused reactions from the girls around him.

The bell for break time rang and without missing a beat, Kaguya gathered her belongings and quickly left the moment Ryuuya left as well.

She knew she will have to talk to Ren soon enough, but not now, not with all those girls. The moment the pairing list were announce Ryuuya was the same moment as the other girls in class stared at Kaguya with envy and anger. She did not need more of that today, so she would have to talk to Ren later.

Later.

Or tonight.

Or tomorrow.

Or the day after tomorrow.

Or—

Kaguya sighed in exasperation.

Three days had passed and she still had not talk to Ren about the song they wanted to make.

Kaguya tried, though. She really tried. But she could swear that the girls in her class are watching her every move and to be honest, it freaked her out.

She sighed exasperatedly as she wrote her homework down.

"Need any help, Kacchan?" A shadow loomed over her as the voice offered a help. Kaguya looked up and saw her roommate and classmate—Usui Chacha—leaning forward, staring at her homework with curious eyes. "If it's not too composing related, I think I can help a little."

Kaguya smiled at her friend. "Thank you, Chacha, but I'm okay."

"So if you're okay with the homework," Chacha pulled out her own chair from under her studying desk and sat down on it. "I'm guessing those sighs were for Jinguji Ren-related stuff?"

Kaguya winched a little upon hearing Ren's name.

The ashen-pink-haired girl giggled. "I'm gonna take that reaction as a yes."

Kaguya put down her pencil and sighed in defeat. "Does it show that much?"

Chacha shook her head. "I just haven't even seen you talk to Renren even once since Ryuuya-sensei gave us the task." She explained. "It's just a guess from my own inspection."

"I see…" Kaguya sighed in relief. She picked up her pencil and started to fiddle with it. She really didn't know what to do with Ren. All she needed was to talk, but she just couldn't bring herself to do so. Kaguya looked up to her roommate and asked, miserably, "Any suggestion, Chacha?"

Her roommate closed her eyes, tipped her head to the side, cupped her own chin, and mused thoughtfully.

It took less than a minute before she grinned from ear to ear.

"I got a good idea." She said with a mischievous tone.

—I have a bad feeling about this.

Kaguya waited at the rooftop as the sun behind her began to set.

She was suddenly alarmed as she heard footsteps coming from behind the door in front of her. It was getting closer and closer, and true enough, someone turned the door-knot and the door was opened.

The wind blew softly and the sunset's orange rays shone upon Jinguji Ren as he stepped to the rooftop.

He looked a little surprise when he saw her, but then the corner of his mouth twitched and he smirked at her. Ren then pulled out a folded piece of paper from his pants pocket and showed it to Kaguya. "Guess I'm not here to hear a love confession, huh?" He asked.

"No, you're not."
