A/N: Ok everyone. This is the last chapter. It's kind of short, sweet, and to the point. Read all the way through to the end because there will also be an author's note at the end. Thank you all for being so dedicated to this story. I love you all!

"I do." Mirage said. Him in all his shiny red glory looked almost defeated. His shoulders were slumped forward and his eyes looked into mine, almost pleading. I felt my breath catch in my throat and tears began to well up in my eyes.

"No Mirage, you don't."

He took a step toward me and I forgot how small I really was compared to him.

"Don't try to tell me what I need." Suddenly his optics dimmed and his holoform stood in front of me. "I love you Carolyn. You can't leave me, please."

My tears were falling now as I reached out toward him. He gripped my waist tightly and brought me into him. I wrapped my arms around his neck and breathed in. the smell of cinnamon and metal invaded my senses and for a second I didn't want to leave, but a whole life was out there waiting for me that I haven't been able to take advantage of. With a chocking sob I pushed from him and lightly kissed his lips.

"I love you too, but I need to take advantage of the life out there waiting. I'll come back someday, I promise."

Before he could protest I walked from him and toward Lennox and Optimus. I climbed the steps to the raised walkway and got their attention. They looked toward me and I started twiddling my thumbs and bouncing on the balls of my feet.

"I, uh, I'm leaving."

Optimus was the first to speak. "Is that why Mirage has cut off his comm link?" He asked. He didn't seem very faced by my admission.

"Uh, I suppose."

"What do you mean you're leaving? Leaving where?" Lennox asked.

"I'm going to go find a life out there. Go back to college, find a job, get a house. A normal life for a bit."

"But we can get you all of these things here."

"No in the traditional sense. I want to do these things by myself. I want to see my mom."

I heard Optimus hum something and then his holoform stood next to me. Without a word he wrapped his arms around me quickly.

"We will stay in touch. And I wish you luck."

Will scoffed. "You're just going to let her go? Mearing will have my ass for letting her go."

His holoform was gone, "I will take care of her. We have no right to keep her here."

"Thank you Optimus."

Within the hour I had said goodbye to everyone, except Blitzwing. I didn't want him trying to stop me. A human escorted me to the airport and I was on my way to see my mom in London. Everything seemed so unreal all of a sudden and the pain in my chest didn't let me forget it.

A/N: ok guys. It's all done. Or is it? Obviously I left it kind of open at the end. I did that kind of on purpose. Have you guys seen the new Transformers trailer? Once the movie comes out I'm sure I'll think of some way to continue this. But until then, thank you my lovely readers.
