thoughts: I am on a mad conquest. Fairy Tail drabbles galore.
But thank you, with my utmost sincerity, to all of you who read & enjoy my work.
dedication: For les 'coz she likes Gruvia & we are kind of participating in a drabble trade of sorts. Don't worry, my dear, for Laxus/Mira will come shortly.
pairing: Gray & Juvia
disclaimer: I do not own Fairy Tail.

with rainy eyes

Sunlight spills through wispy clouds.

Juvia stands and waits, delicate hands clasped tightly to her chest. Head tilting towards the sky, she shivers at the sudden warmth, but she longs for the cold.

And so she waits, patiently, for winter's arrival.

She gently pushes herself through the gathering crowd of guildmates, hoping desperately to catch a glimpse of him. Juvia runs and runs, a blissful smile splitting her face. She ignores the pain. Restless feet unknowingly carry her to his side, where she beams at him with endless affection.

Finally.

It had been so long since she last saw him, breathed him in. Far too long.

He is as handsome as ever with his messy charcoal locks and his breathtaking physique. His face, Juvia notes, should be happier after not seeing her for so long. But she could change that later. For now, she just wants to be with him.

"Juvia has missed Gray-sama so much." She chokes. "So, so much."

She reaches out a trembling, pale hand to touch him, his skin, his perfection, and she flinches at the contact. Cold to the touch, as always. Wrapping her fingers gently around his rough, calloused hand, she guides it to her slightly flushed cheek. He doesn't resist.

With her free hand, she softly roams the planes of his naked torso, stopping on the symbol on his pectoral. She quickly reels back, finger tips stained with a brilliant red. Smearing him on her pale skin, Juvia thinks to herself, the gaping hole in his chest really resembles the hole forming in her own heart. Glassy eyes take a last loving look at his stiff, motionless body, expression serene yet tormented in that confining, black box. And she presses her lips to his, blue and icy, whispering breathlessly, she finally crumbles.

"Welcome home."

Winter has arrived; sunlight is consumed by heavy, gray clouds.

—and the endless rainfall resumes.

ending notes: Ugh, I hate myself for writing this. I'm sorry for this; it sounded a lot better in my head.
