Author's Note: Hey guys! I'm alive... kinda, but I exist, which should be terribly surprising considering the last time I updated this story. Anyway, I lied about there being a two/three parter. I could not bring myself into writing a story where Sakurai spikes the punch bowl at a end of the year party for Touhou and pretty much everyone except Aomine gets drunk. Anyway, here is a slightly decent story. Read and please review!

Taste like Vanillia
by Jake-Everfree
"Damn it Kuroko, you got to stop wandering on your own like that." Today, Seiren has a scrimmage match to open up the new season of basketball. Of course, scrimmages, considering they do not count toward any standings, are not as important as actual games, but are still terribly important depending on the opponent. These matches do allow a team to gain incredible insight into another's inner workings as well as to see measure one's own strength. Considering that, instead of a linear importance of an official match based on where they are in a tournament or the like, these practice games fluctuate as standings (seeing as it is an unofficial match) and current time (as it is never during a tournament but preseason or between Interhigh and the Winter Cup) do not matter but more of who the opponent is. The stronger the opponent, the more data can be gathered and the more accurately one can measure themselves. This way, an evolution of playstyle can be achieved without the stress of an actual season.
This opponent today is one of the strongest teams in Japan. Although they lost in the first round of the Winter Cup, that was because they unfortunately were against a team that bet everything against them to achieve victory, everything including their future. Touhou Academy gladly accepted Seiren's invitation. Who wouldn't? A chance at revenge for the game at the Winter Cup, a chance to see how the current champion currently is, a chance to test out their freshmen's abilities, etc, etc. It was a whole flock of birds with one stone, and the stone was a gift given to them by the flock, there is no way anyone would willingly say no, there was no way anyone could be forced to say no in these circumstances.
Rather than go over to Seiren however, both coaches thought it would be beneficial to hold the training match at Touhou. Harasawa wanted to play on home turf rather than Seiren's and he was surprised when Kagetora's daughter agreed, she unwillingly confessed that the other school's facilities were much better compared to theirs.
Upon arrival to the gym, however, the victors of the Winter Cup found out they lost their phantom player. Of course, their own ace, the one who currently knows the boy best being his partner on court ( and the one who had free time considering the two school promised not to use their respective aces this match) to was sent to find him. Being the one who currently knows the boy best, Kagami found him with relative ease (being under the threat of death by his coach helped too).
"Seriously, you know how important today's match is? We need to develop a new weapon to use against Touhou before we actually have to fight them."
The blue haired boy looked at the taller teen,"I know, I know. But I was just curious. This is my first time visiting this school and I wanted to know what they saw everyday."
"You could always ask them."
"It's because I asked them I have to see it with my own eyes."
"Ah! Testuya! Kagami-kun!" The two heard behind them, turning to see a long haired girl in a green zip-up," Has Seiren already arrived? I was busy with some hand outs so I was coming late, or I at least should have been."
"Good afternoon Satsuki, we just came here."
"No we didn't," Kagami glared at the phantom," we were here twenty minutes ago."
The pinkette tilted her head in confusion," then why aren't you two at the match?"
"This idiot decided to give us the slip and I've spent ten minutes looking for him
"I couldn't help myself," Kuroko spoke, smile on his visage," you talk so much about your school, I wanted to see it for myself."
"Well the tours can be given afterward," Momoi started walking past them and towards to where the gym is,"we have to get to practice. Follow me."
Halfway to the court, Kagami stopped in his tracks and asked the girl," Momoi-san, why do the hallways of your school faintly smell like Vanilla?"
"Now that you mention it," Kuroko stroked his chin," I smell it too."
"Ah! No, not at all," Satsuki went to her zip up pockets and pulled out a small tube," it's my lip balm, it smells like Vanilla and tastes a little too."
"Really?" Kagami gently took the container of ointment and open the cap, taking a light whiff of the product. "You're right, it absolutely does." Once he said that, he immediately, applied some to his upper lip and took a taste of it. "And the flavor is the same as a Vanilla Maji Burger milkshake!"
"KAGAMI-KUN!" the girl shouted, swiping the stick from the teen," you don't simply apply a girls cosmetics! I just put some on before I met you guys! That was pretty much an indirect..."
Satsuki fell silent, a little embarrassed over a small nothing. But then again, a kiss is pretty much a kiss. There is only one person who can touch her lips and he rarely ever does it on account of not seeing each other that much due to academic or extracurricular activities that take up most of their time.
The blunette noticed her uncomfortable shifting and asked his Light," Hey, does it really taste like Vanilla?"
"Y-yeah," the usually rowdy boy answered a bit meekly, a bit sorry that he used Satsuki's lip balm (although he was a bit confused considering it was just lip balm).
"Satsuki?" the teen spoke, hoping to get her attention.
When the girl lifted up her head, and found Kuroko had launch a surprise attack. A few seconds of being awestruck and motionless, they finally parted and tasted the new flavor on his lips. "Yep, it does taste like Vanilla. However", he sighed and frowned afterwards, saying," I kinda like the original flavor better though."
The devilish teenager continued on his way to the gym and Kagami felt confused on whether to follow his partner to give Momoi some alone time to her thoughts or to at least try to help her become part of reality again.
While the mental debate occurred within Taiga's skull, Satsuki licked her lips. Gone was the flavor of orchids and beans, in its place was a hint of peaches. "Vanilla is good, but can't compare to my favorite," teased the Seiren player who was currently halfway down the hall.
"Welcome back Kurokto!" Rika said in an excited voice and a happy smile. Or... it at least could have been if not for the bulging vein in her forehead or the fact she has Kuroko in a Boston Crab. It was currently three fourths of a way through the first quarter, the score currently favoring Touhou. "We haven't started any plans at all, hurry up and get on court!"
He was going to step out to replace a freshman who was struggling with the small forward position, but stopped before completely trading places. A turn of his head toward the Touhou bench, Kuroko locked eyes with the manager. Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out a small tube and applied the substance to his lips. After taking a lick of his upper lip, Kuroko mouthed words only a certain pinkette could hear: "Does not compare to my favorite taste."
A few seconds later, Kuroko switched places with the freshman, who was confused on why he was standing there for a few seconds. Then everyone's heads turned to the bench, seeing the tactician of Touhou lying on the floor, eyes spinning around and face covered in a blush.

~Satsuki's Point of View~
"Looks like they're trying to do something," the Touhou coach said,"They've sent out that number 15."
Momoi turned to the boy standing still on court, going through his pockets and took out what seemed to be her chapstick. "So that's where it went," she muttered to herself. Kuroko applied the Vanilla balm and mouthed a few words and she felt her face flush a deep red. "Oh no, he's making me remember tha-... Wait, didn't Kagami use that before him?"
She began imagining a thousand of scenarios, all where Kagami and Kuroko had an indecent relationship. The blood threatened to leak out of her nose when a picture of Kuroko forcibly holding down Kagami with an evil smirk. The ones that followed weren't better. It was too much for her and soon enough she over heated, falliing onto the ground unconscious.
After the game, when Kuroko heard the real reason why she fainted, he decided to burn the horrible stick and give Kagami a swift punch in the kidneys.
~Rocketship-Sempai!~
Being victors of the Winter Cup, defeating every big named school there was, over throwing the Emperor! Seiren High's Men's Basketball team were in the spotlight for a while. Being a team in their second year of creation and champions of Japan sort of made them famous. The one who was getting the most attention, however, was Kagami.
Right now, whenever a sports journalist or an avid fan of highschool basketball saw him, he would immediately get jumped. He sorta wished that Kuroko would get some of the attention, he did deserve it after all... and the media was suffocating. He was always questioned whenever he was seen and everyone had their eyes on him. Plus, they gave him an embarrassing nickname: "The Rocketship of Seiren".
God, did he want to cry whenever he heard it. Seiren and everyone from the Generation of Miracles would generally do the same thing whenever they saw him: look for a few seconds, snort, smirk, and address him by that stupid moniker!
One day, during the time where clubs showed themselves off, a wave of freshman poured into the gym. Most clearly didn't want to join the club, as they were there just to gaggle around the famous club. One kid, a small girl stared at him all wide eyed. She exploded in excitement and even asked for an autograph. Once he signed it and given it to her she shouted,"Thank you Rocketship-Sempai!"
The room became dead quiet and stared at the power forward. Since that day, pretty much every underclassman called him "Rocketship-sempai".
"This is going to be a long and painful year," he thought to himself, the group of new students quickly advancing upon him.
