Thank you so much for the reviews. Finally, I can complete this story. Took me long enough. As for why brother and sister, it's a challenge that I accepted, so I would make it work somehow. The reason why they might seem OCC, well, after one is reborn, you don't expect them to be exactly the same as their last life. Anyway, I hope it's a good read. I'm can't really write and didn't edit it as much as I normally have so please forgive the grammars. Take care. :D

...

Why?

He asked for the hundredth times.

There was no reply.

There would never be.

His room was dark. Only darkness. The curtains had been long shut and he had no intention of opening them. He did not want to see the world.

Why?

Why her?

He brought a hand to cover his eyes. He was lying in his bed. The bed that would forever be empty.

Why?

It was the question that he would never find the satisfy answer to.

Was it because he had gone after her?

If he had not, would she still be by his side?

Be by his side, but forever forbad to him.

It was unfair.

The world was so unfear.

A tear flowed down the corner of his eye.

Why?

He remembered her pale figure, she was as beautiful as she ever was, as if she was only sleeping, but her skin was cold. Cold and lifeless unlike the warm body he had held tightly against his.

Another silence tear dropped down his cheek.

Was this their punishment?

Punishment for going against fates?

If he had stopped his desire and never touch her, never tanned her, would she have live?

Would she still be alive?

If she had not moved in with him, if she had not stayed with him, she would have no need to go to that convenient store. If she had not gone there that day, the day the store was robbed, if…

Why?

Why was it wrong to be in love with his sister?

No, why did they have to be born as siblings?

Why his coldhearted only warmed up to her?

Why did he desire her? Only her!

Why?

After he ran after her to the train station, after he held her close inside his arms, after they both lost in their moment, they knew they could never parted from each other again.

They knew it was wrong, they knew, yet they could not stop the heart that only desired one another.

Why did they not born in the times where brother and sister could get marry?

Why?

There were millions of questions, but the most important question remain, why did she die?

Why was she taken from his arms when he could finally held her?

Maybe that was why.

He had eaten the forbidden fruit that was why he was being punished.

A soft sob escaped his lips. He curbed into a ball inside the large bed.

She would never lay beside him again. The thought made the whole world felt empty.

He let the bottle on his other hand rolled out and it dropped to the floor.

It would not be long now.

"Rin. I'm coming with you." He spoke softly to his lover. His sister. The woman he could not live without.

She had moved in with him, telling their parents it was closer to their school. No one suspected them. No one knew what they did behind close door. But they were happy. Happier than they had ever been, drowning in each other's arms. They could finally be together the way they wanted.

They knew they could never have children. They knew they could never hold hands in public. Their relationship would forever stay in the dark, the secret they would take to their graves, but they were content.

They felt complete. Whole.

But their happiness was so short. They had barely lived together for three months.

And she was already taken from him. Forever.

Why?

Why did it have to be her?

Why did the robber have to rob when she was shopping?

Why did the cashier call the police?

Why did the robber grasp Rin as the hostage?

Why did the police fail to rescue her?

Why did the robber… shot her?

It didn't matter anymore. Nothing could bring her back. But he refused to stay in the world without her. He would follow her.

His vision darkened. It would not be long now.

He would join her. They would hold hands and never part.

Never again.

.

.

He could feel his heart slowing down. His breath became shallow.

He smiled.

Soon. He would be with her soon.

At that moment, millions of images were flashing through his mind. Was this what people saying your whole life flashing through your eyes the moment you died?

It didn't matter.

The images were his yet were not his.

He was Sesshomaru, but his hair was silver. He donned white Japanese traditional attire, two powerful swords at his side. A dog demon, a voice in the back of his mind whispered his identity. Tall, elegant, powerful, and perfect.

A small girl was singing, her footsteps dancing behind him, traveling the rode. She was always with him- Rin.

He, a demon lord, injured, alone, powerless.

She, a little human girl, alone, orphan, mute. That was the first time they met.

She dumped cold water over his head, trying to help, she offered him food. He refused. She showed up again with a bruised face, she smiled, a toothily smile with missing a gasp in her teeth, when he asked her what happened.

He found her again later that day, he was healed, she wasn't. Her small dead was surrounded by wolves, ready to eat her.
He did not like it. The wolves ran away at his present.

He did not like it that she was dead. For the first time, his sword pulsed, the sword of life. He cut through deaths who tried to chain her, taken her soul to hell, he brought her back among the living. She opened her eyes. The innocent loving eyes that would forever looked at him. Her small footstep followed after him.

The child turned into a girl, a girl into a woman. She smiled, always, at him. The soft lips that he soon pressed with his, the tongue that he was egger to taste, the scent loving scent he drowned in with pleasure.

Beautiful.

She was in her wedding kimono, that night they became one. The girl soon carried a swollen belly. A small baby stared back at him while his beloved wife smiled tiredly after the birth. The laughter surrounded him as the mother played with child, the warmth that penetrated from his heart throughout his beings looking at them, the loving eyes of his beloved wife that never changed.

Their child now took a bride, a very beautiful bride. They watched their handsome son with pride.

Rin, her human hand entangled with Sesshomaru's, his clawed demon one, she stared back at him with bliss. Her smooth hand then turned wrinkled, his beautiful wife was now an old lady, yet forever beautiful. Her loving gaze never changed.

He held her small frame in his arms, she was weak, her once raven mane was now the color of gray and silver, her smooth face was full with wrinkles. Her time had come.

"Thank you for everything. I am so happy because of you." She spoke softly, tiredly. They knew she would not last long. "It's my time to go." She bit her goodbye.

"You will not go alone." He nuzzled his head against hers. She stared at him with wide eyes, surprised. "I'm coming with you." He had no intention to live the long life without her. He had once followed after her into hell to bring her back, this time he could not bring her back, so he followed her.

"No!" she protested.

"I'm coming," he repeated.

"What about our son? What about the Western Land?"

"He is a capable adult. He will be fine. The land to."

"No, my lord. You can't."

"There is no use in protesting, Rin. No one can change his mind once this Sesshomaru make his decision."

She embraced him with the little strength she had left. "Oh Sesshomaru." She whispered, knowing that was final. She was touched knowing how much she was loved. She too would forever loyal to him.

"This Sesshomaru will never part with you, where ever you go, I will be by your side."

And he kept his promise. He was always by her side, ironically, even when they were reborn. He was always with her.

The flash came to an end.

Sesshomaru laid on the empty room. He could no longer open his eyes nor could he move. But it didn't matter.

Finally, he understood why they were twins. As powerful as the demon lord he was, he fallowed after her, it was no surprise he did the same this time too. But he would not make the same mistake. Not this time

Once they meet again, he would be her lover.

And she would be beloved wife.

...
