Valkyrie pulled as hard as she could, trying to get away.

"No, no, no, no, NO!" she cried, desperately trying to pull her wrist out of the pair of handcuffs that tied her to Skulduggery Pleasant.

"Well," Tanith said, watching her friend struggle, "if you hadn't called me a sword fanatic you wouldn't be in this predicament."

Valkyrie glared, "I wouldn't call this a predicament, I would call this a crisis," and continued to struggle.

Tanith laughed.

Skulduggery just stood there silently, not wanting to enrage the very angry Valkyrie that he was now stuck to an more.

"You know," Tanith said leaning back in the lawn chair she had set up to watch the show, "I'll let you out of the handcuffs if you just say that you're sorry and that I'm NOT a sword fanatic and that I am the most amazing and awesome and beautiful person ever."

"Never," she snarled.

"Well then I guess you're gonna be stuck to Skulduggery forever."

Valkyrie froze and then a wolf-like grin spread across her face.

"Hey Tanith," she said.

"Ready to apologize and say that I am the most beautiful and lovely woman of all time?" she asked.

Valkyrie cocked her head. "I thought you wanted me to say that you were the most amazing and awesome person ever."

Tanith shrugged. "I change my mind."

Valkyrie gave Tanith a weird look then shook her head.

"What I was GOING to say was that if you don't let me go your sword is going to pay."

"How? Those cuffs, like every other pair we ever use are magic bound."

Valkyrie's wolf grin was back and she took out a mini spray paint can of permanent hot pink paint that she now always kept in her pocket for moments like this and held it up.

"Say bye-bye to your sword," she said and ran into the house, dragging Skulduggery with her.

Tanith bolted after Valkyrie and got into her apartment right when she started painting.

Soon the sword was pink and Tanith was sobbing.

"You're going to have to pay for this," she said.

Valkyrie shrugged, "meh, I'm a millionaire now so honestly it doesn't really affect me."

She out held her hand, "now give me the key or your motor bike's next."
