So I went out and watched Thor 2 over the weekend...Damn you, Tom Hiddleston, that was an amazing! It won't be affecting this story, but that was still an absolutely awesome movie!

Natasha fought with every ounce of her might, but it was no use. She could hear somebody yelling her name, but she was too busy breaking one of the Peacekeeper's necks to pay attention. When she finally glanced over her shoulder, her worst fears were confirmed. The portal was closed, and everyone else was gone.

Everyone, that is, except her and Peeta. He had already been neutralized, and Natasha realized that it wouldn't be too long until she met a similar fate. She resolved to take out as many Peacekeepers as possible until she was forced to surrender.

She wasn't able to take out many, but every one that fell was one less that the team would later be facing. Natasha fought as she was thrown to the ground, and felt a strange plastic cuff tie around her wrists. A couple well aimed kicks, and soon her feet were tied in a similar fashion. She looked over and saw Peeta, unconscious and bleeding from the head, and fought back a groan.

So much for the perfect plan.

"What do you mean, we lost them?" Katniss yelled. "How do you manage to lose two people?"

Clint was equally furious. "They're going to kill them, you know that. Right?"

Loki rubbed his temples. It wasn't the first time he'd been yelled at today. "I warned you all that Stark's plan had holes."

"Holes that involved losing both Natasha and Peeta?" Clint said darkly.

"You don't think they'll kill them, do you?" Katniss asked. Loki sighed.

"I don't know. I'm afraid that they may do worse. I fear that they will try to use them against us, in some way."

"Then let's just go storm the fucking Capitol again." Clint suggested.

"Bad idea." Steve interjected. "Really bad idea, Barton. The Capitol will be on red alert after our last stunt. It'd be too risky to try and get in to. Not with just a small group of us, anyways."

"Somebody has to do something!" cried Katniss.

"THERE IS NOTHING LEFT TO DO!" Loki yelled, finally reaching the end of his thin patience. "Not right now, Girl on Fire. We are not in a position to do anything. Not yet. Not without risking everything we've worked for."

"So we're just to leave them there to die?" Clint asked.

"They won't kill them." said Tony. "Loki was right with his first thought. They're going to use them against us, if they can. We have to bide our time. We have to wait them out, and then, when we're ready to end this once and for all...that's when we make the rescue attempt."

She felt like she was losing her mind.

Natasha wasn't sure what machine they'd hooked her up to, but she screamed with every jarring stab of pain. It was brutal, and every jarring push took her farther away from reality.

"What's your name?" asked a tall man with a dark mustache. He'd been watching her since they'd strapped her down to the table. They called him a General. He'd already whipped Natasha, and tried to force her to admit to where she had come from. But she wouldn't, she couldn't betray the others. Betrayal could cost them everything.

"Natasha Alianovna Romanoff." She murmured.

"What's your name?"

She fought to remember. "Natalia...Natasha..."

Consciousness began to escape her once again, as she fought to remember who she was.

"Natalia!" Uncle Ivan called. "You must hurry, Natalia."

"Куда мы идем?" Natalia asked.

"English, Natalia." he scolded. "You must use English.

"Where are we going?" she asked, frowning at having to use a language that was not her native tongue.

"It is not where I go, Natalia. It is where you go. You must run. People are coming, people who would not understand how special you are. You may return soon, but for now, you must run."

"But where will I go?" she asked, in confusion.

"I do not know." Uncle Ivan said. "You must trust your own instincts to lead you. Now go, Natalia, before they find you. Go!"

Natalia awoke and immediately assessed herself, scrambling to figure out where she was.

"Now tell me." said a man. He had a dark mustache. Part of Natalia believed that she had seen him before, but she could not remember where. Then again, she had seen many, many people in her lifetime. Perhaps he'd killed his brother, or his father, and that was why he looked so familiar. "What is your name?"

"Natalia Romanova." she answered. The man raised his eyebrows, as if he didn't quite believe her, but what did he expect? Natalia had no reason to use an alias. She never did, not unless Uncle Ivan told her to do so.

"Do you have my next assignment?" she asked carefully. She did not understand this man, but the room she was in reminded her of the Red Room facilities. Perhaps she had been sent here to learn what she was to do next.

The man nodded. "We need you to go to these people." He held up a variety of pictures, which Natalia took and began to look over. A man in a flashy red and gold suit of armor. Another man in a blue tight spandex suit, carrying a shield. A pair of men, one carrying a hammer, and one holding a scepter. A non descript looking man in a white lab coat. And a shorter, muscled man, with a pug nose and piercing blue eyes. He carried a bow. Natalia tried to remember why the picture would resonate with her, but she could not. He looked familiar, but she could not remember why.

Perhaps Uncle Ivan could explain why she felt like she knew so many people.

"They may be hostile towards you, and that is fine. We just need you to kill as many of them as possible. Can you do that?"

Natalia nodded without thinking. "Of course I can. Just give me a way to get to them."

Bruce nearly fell out of his seat when he saw her on the monitors. "Clint! Loki!" he yelled.

Clint literally ran into the room. "Do you see something?"

"She's there." Bruce pointed to the screen, where Natasha was walking around in a field. "She's right there!"

"LOKI!" Clint yelled. The god of mischief came into the room at a much slower pace.

"What?" he asked, sounding slightly annoyed.

"Portal. There. Now." Clint said, pointing to the screen. Loki stared at it in amazement.

"How on earth did she manage to get away?"

Clint shrugged. "She's the best. Portal...?"

Loki nodded, and conjured up a portal directly below where Natasha was standing, sending her back home to Midgard.

She appeared in the lab, and Clint blew out a sigh of relief. "Tasha...thank god." He strode over with purpose. "You alright?"

Something was off, but Loki couldn't quite put his finger on it. He watched as the Russian stiffly regarded Clint. "Yes."

Something was very off indeed.

"How the hell did you get away from them?" Bruce asked. Natasha simply shrugged her shoulders, and that's when everything clicked together in Loki's mind. She didn't know who they were.

"Clint..." Loki warned. "You might want to take a step back." He turned to face Natasha, who's eyes were glittering dangerously. He picked her memories, and realized that none of them existed in them. It was just as he had feared.

"Problem?" asked Bruce.

"I'm afraid so." Loki murmured. "My dear, would you be so kind as to tell us your name?"

Natasha regarded him for a moment, and then flipped her hair over her shoulder seductively. "Natalia Romanova."
