TAKE ME BACK AGAIN
Warnings: An AoKise FanFiction. Self-edited. Possible OOC-ness. Rated M for violence and some lemony goodness.
Disclaimer: I don't own KnB or any of its characters. Yet it's one of ultimate dreams to see Aomine and Kise together forever.
A/N: All of the chapters with the exception of the 12th and final one (which will be posted on the 9th of Feb) were edited. I made a few tweaks here and there but nothing major that can alter the story line itself. Most changes concerned the paragraphing and slight grammar checking. I don't claim that this story is error-free.
CHAPTER 1: FIRST ENCOUNTER ONCE MORE
I should have been satisfied with what we have back then. I should have not pushed my luck. Should not have thought of those endless what-ifs. Should not have sacrificed the only bond we have just to satisfy my selfishness. I should have stay quiet, still, silent, until he get tired of me. But no, my feelings got the better of my self-control and I just found myself spilling everything to him. Until I can't say anything anymore, until I squeezed all what's left of my feelings, until I broke down and let fate take care of it all.
I thought I got over him. I thought I wouldn't be shaken with this encounter. I thought I can successfully fake this smile of mine. He's here. The tall physique that gives off authority unknowingly which always amazes me whenever he's in a room, the broad back I have dreamt of hugging every night, the aura that emits powerful possession over something, that I wish he feels over me, the deep voice that reverberates and send chills down my spine, the toned body ending in those long fingers. He exudes masculinity, he exudes raw power, he exudes sexiness, and I can't remember how many times I fantasize that we're both on the same bed, drowning in pleasure and pure bliss. I really should stop daydreaming, for he can never be mine. Not in this lifetime.

Kise stilled for a moment after he had absorbed the fact that Aomine Daiki was really in the same room as him. He wondered what business the tan guy has in his workplace. Kise is currently at the modelling agency and he doubts if there's a need for someone like Aomine to do something in the building, unless he has decided to be posing in the limelight. Kise laughed mentally. That's just far-fetched.
Being an outstanding police officer who earned the respect of his superiors, the public and everybody else, it's a surprise to see him around a group of people whose job was to look beautiful for the crowd.
"Kise-kun." The blonde's manager voice called into him trying to catch the model's attention. Kise shifted in his chair and looked at his manager questioningly, evidently ignoring the tall guy who stands beside him.
"Yes?" Kise asked as he stood from the chair he's sitting in.
The manager winced a bit at the coldness of his talent's voice. He heaved a sigh before plowing in, "I would like you to meet someone. He's gonna be an essential part of... uh, say your life, because he'll be guarding you everywhere and every time."
That earned a sharp intake of breath from the model. He looked at his manager with wide eyes, disbelief spread on his gorgeous face. For who knows, Aomine Daiki, the man he has only loved will be spending his days with him. Kise threw a glance at the taller guy and God forbid, he's looking at the model so intently.
Kise sighed, trying to hide the discomfort he's feeling. "What for?"
"Isn't it quite obvious? You've been threatened lately and I can't just watch how stress you are whenever I see you. After all, it's my job to ensure you're safe too!" The manager exclaimed, fear, anger and concern lacing his voice.
Kise paused for a moment before saying, "But there's no need to go this far. I can take care of myself. Look, this has been going for months, and even those best of the best police, guards, security and who knows what you've hired can do nothing about this. I think this is just a bit of a prank. Trying to scare me for fun."
Aomine decided to break his silence. "I doubt that Kise-kun." Both manager and model turned their heads on the police's direction. "I'm Aomine Daiki from the Special Police Investigation Unit. Your manager here has hired my services for your protection. This is a serious matter. You're a public figure so every little thing that's happening around and about you is bound to be known to the public. You can't run away from that. I assure you, I can and I will catch the culprit behind this if you cooperate with me." He said the words without breaking eye contact, seriousness etched on his face, there's a hint of some more emotions behind it that Kise can't quite place. He's still that skilled on hiding what he feels.
The model's heart squeezed. Does he still care? But then how can he casually address me when we've reached the point back then that he'll call me by my first time while ruffling my hair. It hurts. How can he casually talk to me like I'm just his ordinary client? Maybe that's just really is. He doesn't want to associate any more feelings when it involves me. He despises me after all. Then why did he agree to this job?
"I'm not trying to question your capabilities or anything Aomine-kun, but I think I know what's good for me. I definitely know if I require any help or protection you're saying. You don't have to get yourself worked up on my issue. I bet there are lots of big-time clients that want you too. Far more satisfying that guarding a model who knows nothing but to smile and pose around the camera." The pale guy put a lot of emphasis on his last sentence.
Kise then noticed that the tan guy got a bit startled with the words. But he recovers as fast as though it didn't affect him.
"I won't back on any task assigned to me, whether it's ensuring the safety of the most influential person on the planet or just the naughtiest kid in the neighbourhood. There's no job as big or small, they are all satisfying granted that I accomplished it." The taller one said with conviction and determination.
Ah, the unwavering belief. It's one of those things that Kise admired about Aomine. One can say that he can never be serious back then, but if people look at him now, dignified and speaking words, they will say that he has been a better person. But on the model's inside that will surely earn tease form him if he had spoken them when they we're still staying together.
At this point, the manager spoke once more and settled the matter himself.
"Ryouta", he called the model. Aomine suddenly stands rigid with his brows furrowed. Kise tried so hard to avoid his eyes. He can imagine Aomine's questioningly look directed at him.
The model bit his lower lip. He knows that the manager's serious about something if he starts calling Kise by his first name. The blonde tried to compose himself and prepare for what he dreads to hear. After all he can never say no to the person who literally saved him and brought him back to his feet. When Kise glanced at the smaller guy, he saw the look in his eyes pleading that the model should listen and believe in him. Ryouta resigned and sighed once more.
"Alright. If you think this is for the best, do what you want. But I have things to say. Never ever meddle in my affairs. Whatever I'm doing is none of your concern. You're here to protect me and not to put your nose in my personal life. Second, don't boss me around. I can take orders from you as long as it's related with my safety and nothing else. Third, don't act casual with me. I prefer if you ignore me most of the time if I'm not in harm's way. I think that's all for now. Are you satisfied with that manager?" Kise turned towards him with a sincere smile. The manager smiled back.
"Can't say it any better than that Ryouta." He then addressed Aomine. "Well then Aomine-kun, you can start tomorrow. I'll give you Kise's address, his email, phone number and everything else related to the case. I hope you two can work well together."
Aomine nodded. The manager seemed satisfied with that. "Kise?" He asked the model.
The blonde blinked twice. "If that's all, I'm gonna go ahead." He then looked for the car keys in his pocket and waved a hand. But before he can take a step, Aomine grabbed his arn, seized the keys from the model's hand and kind of dragged him towards the elevator. The policeman pushed the button using his other hand.
He turned to the manager who followed them with a troubled and anxious look on his face, "Just send everything in my email or I'll just pick them up. I might as well start my job now."
As the elevator opened, the taller guy stepped inside clasping Kise's hand behind him. The large, warm hand holding Kise's slightly smaller one, the short distance between them and the feeling of being inside a small place together got the model utterly dumbfounded.
