Chapter Three: Soul's Penalty
"Why do you have to been so kind hearted Tsubaki?" Soul moaned. "Why couldn't you just shoot me so I wouldn't have had to listen to Black Star rant for two hours?"
"Hahahaha…! Shoot Shoot! Bang Bang!" Patty yelled.
The group was starting to pack up everything they had to go home after Black Star ranted about his godliness. It's nothing that the rest hasn't heard before but after hearing the same god damn thing every day, can really have its toll. Soul grabbed his water bottle off the bench and said a tired "bye" before walking in the direction of his place. Soul was already thinking about the instant roman noodles that was waiting at home for him to eat as his dinner, again, it's nothing new about Soul's choice of dinner. People would think that he was planning to not leave his house for the next three months. He then remembered that he needed to buy more fish for his roommate, Blair. Of course Blair is anything but human. In a way, Blair could be Soul's roommate. It's just that she doesn't work, pay for anything, and doesn't complain to him about how he lives in his own home. And that is why Soul likes Blair, because she's nothing more than a cat that he found on the streets. Soul found her living in a dumpster near his two bedroom apartment when he was taking out the trash one day. She was a skinny cat with glossy ebony fur so dark that it could almost looked purple in just the right lighting. He didn't mean anything by it when he gave her a piece of burnt fish from when he tried to cook it. Bad idea. Anything involving Soul and kitchen always spells disaster. After that she started following him home and when he did try to chase her away she would just rub herself against his legs. So he gave up on trying to get rid of her and welcomed her into his home as his new roommate.
Just as Soul passed through the grates that separated the basketball court to the streets of the outside world he heard someone yell his name.
"Hey Soul! You still need to know your penalty for being captain of the losing team!"
Damn Black Star.
He turned around to address the blue haired idiot with a scowl marrying his face. He was tired physically and mentally; he was hungry; and his pride just took a hit for the fact that his team lost the game. Damn Liz and her nails.
"What do you want Black Star?" Soul asked calmly turning on his heels and walking back to the group. He was too tired for this shit.
"I want you to stay and hear what your penalty is." He said walking towards him with the group following behind.
"Then what is the penalty that your awesomeness o' so chose?" Soul said sarcastically.
"I'm glad you asked. I want to you join me in going into the forest tonight. We are going to look for a cabin that is supposed to be haunted by a ghost." Soul threw his head back and released a groan just as Black Star finished his sentence.
"Really Black Star? First it was your two hours rant. Now you want me to join you in a pointless hunt? Why?" Soul moaned.
"Because I'm the winner here and you are the loser so you have to do whatever the winner wants. And right now the winner, which is me, wants the loser, that's you, to go with him to the forest tonight on a hunt."
"Out of everything that you could have made me do or make me say; you chose to make me to waste my time out in the forest?"
"Yup."
"Not going to happen." Soul turned on his heels walk back towards the gate.
"I could always make you go back to dating Natalia!" Black Star shouted with a smug look on his face. Soul stopped dead on his tracks when he heard his ex-girlfriends name.
Damn that bastard and his awesomeness of being a jackass. He was stuck between an annoying rock and an obnoxiously loud hard place.
Soul made a loud sigh and turned around to face the idiot that's making him do this. "When and where?"
There was no way in hell that he is ever getting back together with his ex.
"8 p.m. at the tourist's trail. Tonight."
"Do I need to bring anything? Like maybe a flashlight?"
"That only happened one time!" Black Star shouted at Soul crossing his arms over his muscular chest.
"Please do not mention that horrific time! Everything was so asymmetrical! I had nightmares for days!" Kidd yelled crumbling on the concrete, hitting his fist on the grey pavement shouting "The Horror!"
"Great, now look what you two have done." Liz sighed in an exasperate tone. She then glanced down at the crying teen with a shake of her head making her temporarily fading brunette hair whip from side to side slightly.
"I don't why Kidd's crying, he can just stay at home in his house of symmetrical paradise." Soul muttered quietly to himself while taking a glance at his sobbing friend on the ground. He sighed before turning his attention to the real jackass standing in front of him with a gloating smirk. "Do I have to bring anything besides the flashlight that we all know you'll forget?"
"The Horror!" Kidd yelled at the mentioned of the flashlight incident. Of course he went unnoticed by the others.
"Let it go." Black Star said through gritted teeth. "That was only one time."
"Fine. I'll go." Soul forced himself to say. "I got to get some more food to feed Blair, see you all at 8 tonight." With that said, Soul walked away from the group intending to feed his roommate before getting some sleep. If Soul knows Black Star as well as he thinks he does, then the next time Soul is going to get any sleep is not till morning.
So not cool.
Disclaimer: I do not own Sou Eater or any of the characters.
AN: I'm back! Yay! I know that it has been a very long time, but I'm slowly making my way back. Since summer is coming, hopefully I can put more chapters up for this and my other stories as well! I know that this isn't that much a 'action' chapter but wait for the next one to come. Thank you for those who have supported me through everything. See you!~
