The strange person that had abducted Timmy had led him over a bridge and into a small hut in front of a humongous fortitude. She dragged him inside, tied his hands together, and tied the slack of the rope to a stake in the dirt. Now that he was no longer being directly threatened, Timmy could get a better look at his captor. She wasn't especially tall, but she had long, blonde hair and chestnut brown eyes. The strange woman wore a light blue cloth tied around her chest, a scarf tied around her mouth, and baggy balloon-like pants. She sported a dark tan, and her makeup was heavy. He had never seen anyone dressed like this before. "Is it safe to come out, Timmy?" Stella asked before hovering in front of his face. "What was that all about? I told you to look out! Did you listen? No! You dolt! You should have been paying more attention to what's around you! Maybe next time I'll-" she was cut off when the woman turned around at the two. Her eyes widened, and she kneeled down beside Timmy.
"You have a fairy..." she breathed, sticking her hand out gently towards Stella.
"Get away from me!" Stella yelled and zipped away.
The woman sighed and pulled the scarf off of her face. "I'm sorry I had to be so harsh with you, but I couldn't let you fall into the wrong hands," she said ominously. "I saw that you were carrying the Sword of Legend, and I knew you were special. The fact that you have a fairy just hit everything home," she said with a small smile. Timmy looked at the woman strangely, and she explained. "You see, you fit the criteria of the prophecy of the Hero of Legend. Someone of your power will be able to help," she said softly.
Help? With what? Timmy had been told he was the Hero of Legend, but how could he help this woman? He could barely use his sword, and if his observations served him right, she could use a sword too.
"My sister, Naboorloom, is leading a rebellion against Valtor, the king of the Gerudos," the woman continued. "But since he has obtained part of the Triforce, she realized she would need more power, so she went to the Crystal Labyrinth to get the Water Stars. I fear for her safety, since she draws her power from the same power that Valtor does. The Water Stars could kill her," she said, concern lacing her voice.
Stella had flown back and landed on Timmy's shoulder while the woman spoke to him. "So wait, where's this Crystal Labyrinth? What's so great about the Water Stars? And who in Din's name are you?" she asked in a peeved manner.
The woman smiled. "You're from Kokiri Forest, aren't you?" she asked softly. "You call the three goddesses by their appropriate names. It's weird to have the other Hylian townspeople calling me a goddess," she chuckled.
Timmy and Stella looked at each other before turning back to the woman. "You're a goddess?" Stella asked skeptically, looking at the humanoid kneeling in front of them.
She shook her head. "I'm a nymph. I protect the sacred Fire Temple in the middle of the desert. My name is Daphne."
"Whoah, whoah, whoah! Hold it!" Stella barked. "Did you say a temple?" she asked. "Timmy's supposed to be traveling through temples and saving sages!"
Daphne slowly nodded. "Yes, if the legend of the hero holds true, he needs to free the sages from the different temples, although I have no idea who the sage of the Fire Temple is," she admitted. "Right now, it is there headquarters for the Trix, Valtor's elite group of witches he commands to do his bidding," she explained.
"So why did you pull us here? To waste our time?" Stella asked angrily.
"I'm not wasting your time," Daphne assured the little fairy. "You see, the Crystal Labyrinth is another name from the Ice Temple. The Water Stars have been hidden inside it. They hold miraculous power, enough to extinguish the Dragon Flame," she explained. "All Gerudos draw some power from the Flame. If we can extinguish the flame, Valtor will lose an immense amount of power," she reasoned.
"Well that's all fine and dandy, but really, why us?" Stella asked. "Why can't you go?"
"I'm a Gerudo, and not only that, I protect the Dragon Flame. If I get anywhere near the Water Stars, I could die," she said softly. "That's why I needed someone I could trust, and I know I can trust the Hero of Legend," she told them, untying Timmy from the ground. "If you jump into the river near the edge of Gerudo Valley, you can float all the way back to Lake Hylia. From there, you should be able to find the Ice Temple," she said quietly.
Timmy nodded and headed out, Stella right on his heels. "Hey Timmster! Wait up! You're just going to go along with what the crazy Gerudo said? What if she works for Valtor?" she asked angrily. Timmy turned and gave Stella a knowing expression. If it would have been earlier on in the game, if he would have been the little kid being bullied by Riven in Kokiri Forest, there would be no way he listened to Daphne. But now, he was Timmy—The Hero of Legend. He had to do whatever it took to defeat Valtor, and if listening to the Gerudo was going to help, then he would do it. He made it to the edge of the bridge in no time. Taking a deep breath, he jumped off and plunged into the water below.
A/N: Yep, Daphne makes an appearance, and not as a goddess or a spirit. It makes you wonder if the other goddesses that Tecna mentioned are actually goddesses...hehehe...
I think the Ice Temple is the first major change we're getting in this crossover. It's going to be big and important, unlike the tiny little iron boot thing you had to do in the real game. But that will come next time :) Daisy out!
