Reinforcements from the Future

Troy stumbled to the ground. He groaned gripping his injured shoulders while barely managing to dive out-of-the-way of an oncoming airstrike. Troy ducked behind some torn remnants. Glancing over his injured shoulder Troy saw that the coast was clear. He ran through the scattered remains wondering how his search for Robo Knight had led to downtown. Troy stumbled through the broken glass and shards as he hobbled through the empty streets. Chaos and endless air strikes and raids had replaced the joy and laughter that once filled the streets. As Troy trekked along a cloud of dust hovered in his pathway dropping to his knees he crawled through the dust only to come across a group of mechanical soldiers.

Troy quickly dived into a nearby alleyway watching from the corner the line of soldiers march through the street. Troy gripped his fists falling back against the wall wondering how the Warstars gained this an upper hand. Troy sighing wishing he had been more alert and on guard with his thoughts shifting over to Robo Knight...who he still had yet to find. Troy slammed his fist against the wall contemplating his next course of action.

"Whoa!" Troy gripped the wall trying to keep his balance as the earth rattled underneath him startling him from his internal thoughts.

He shifted his thoughts as he lingered there trying to survey the area and at this point he saw there was no way that he would be able to make back to the beach unseen with the swarms of soldiers surrounding the area. Troy sighed lifting his morpher hoping that by some chance that he could make some contact with the others.

"Guys…anyone?" Nothing but static followed from the other end. "Gosei? Are you there?"

No answer.

Panic swept over Troy...this was certainly not a good sign. He leaned against the wall trying to hold his balance as another deafening boom rocked through the area. At the point he figured there was nothing that he could do to try to cut the chaos in the city so perhaps the best thing he could do was to try and find a way to the command center. Shifting his thoughts Troy glanced down the empty alleyway...once he felt the coast was clear, he quickly sprints through the dank alley hoping to somehow find a way back to the command center unscathed...

A long howled whistled through the air. Wes slumped against the shattered wall struggling to regain his composure. He slowly gathered back to his feet contemplating his next course of action. But as he was doing so he saw of the corner of his visor a horde of the mechanical soldiers heading his way.

Wes stepped out of the crumpled heap thinking was he truly doing the right thing?

Wes looked down at his right wrists…for some strange reason he still couldn't believe that he could morph into a Power Ranger again there was no time to reeling in those thoughts as Wes had been immediately thrust into battle. A sound in the distance startled Wes from his internal thoughts. He shifted his attention back over to the battled remains of downtown Harwood County. He gasped as he saw heading his way where hundreds if not thousands of foot-soldiers. Gathering his composure Wes slowly trekked towards the horde with a sound in the distance catching his attention, turning he saw that he was now completely surrounded.

Outmatched and outnumbered Wes gripped his fists together trying to stay strong and composed. If he were going to defeat the soldiers he would need to keep his wits about him. This was not the time for hesitation or doubt if he were going to save their city. Wes needed to come up with a plan…strategy that he could use to maximize his chances at defeating the soldiers. But there would be no time to formulate this plan as Wes was suddenly thrush to the ground. He tried getting back to his feet but it was to avail, as he was being pounding by many attacks from all angles that the sight of metallic filled his line of vision.

Suddenly without regard Wes felt light on his feet he looked down gasping at the sight of no longer being on the ground. Two of the soldiers had both of his arms kicking and thrashing Wes sent some of them flying, but a swift attack to the gut caught him by surprise causing him to gasp for air. More kicks and punches followed Wes felt dizzy and light-headed with the pain surging through his body he tried fighting back but his body rejected his attempts. The uncertainty starting to sweep over Wes as he lied there on the ground.

"Was this it?"

"Is this the...end for me?"

"Where were the Megaforce Power Rangers?"

Wes sighed falling back against the ground looks like his attempts at saving the world were futile…he let out a long sigh thinking was it all worth…this fight for the greater good?

He looked up trying to shift his focus away from the pain coursing through his body thinking that of course this fight was worth it, after-all he his team had saved the world once…and he be damned if he didn't keep up this fight to the end…even if that meant sacrificing his own life. Mustering up all the strength he could, Wes struggled against the bots till he was finally free of their gasp. Wes fought through a line of bots, attacking from the left, right and all angles, Wes fought hard, through the pain knowing that at this point he was probably the only one that could save this city. Wes continued fighting till he reached the end of the line.

He glanced over his shoulders peering at the searing remains silently triumphing Wes continued though the desolate street. He stopped dead in his tracks staring at the large blue figures hovering in the rubble before him…as if they were waiting to ambush him. Fighting the growing uncertainty Wes continued on trying to keep up his strength and resolve. Suddenly a cloud of dust and debris shrouded his vision…unable to figure out where he was going Wes fell to the ground. Unsure of how long he lied there Wes tried getting back to his feet but the area was still surrounded by a thick layer of dust. Wes managed to keep his balance as the Earth around him shifted and tumbled but as he continued through the dust something nearby caught his attention.

Wes continued along but as got closer the quaking seem to grow stronger. "What's that up ahead." He slowly trekked through the desolate streets. Wes gasped stopping dead in his tracks. Looks like he found the source of the rattling, it was more of the large blue bots.

Without word or regard one of the bots points a large arm his way. Wes swallowed hard slowly backing away. But as he was doing so something hard struck his chest a mixture of sparks and pain filled his line of vision as Wes no longer felt the ground beneath him. He winced in pain with the ground catching his fall. Battered and demorphed Wes lied there heaving from both the pain and the looming defeat. The pain started swirling inside his head…with everything around him becoming blurry. Wes clutched his head, gasping...the sight of his own blood sent him into a tailspin. He winced crying out in pain. Unable to move Wes lied feeling everything around him slowly fading away with his eyelid growing heavy...Wes struggled trying to fight unconsciousness...

At this point Wes surmised that this was it…the end. There was no one he could call on or turn too, and the Megaforce team was nowhere in sight. Wes shifted feeling the earth rattling beneath him as waves of shots and airstrikes filled his ears. Unable to move Wes feigned a slight smile…this was certainly not the way he intended to leave this world…battered and alone. Then again this was a decision that he made…and this fate a result of his sworn duties as a Power Ranger. Wes shut his eyes with his thoughts shifting back to his beloved Jen. He was going to miss her terribly…inside his mind he could see her weeping once she has found out the news of his demise. Wes felt the tears edging his own eyes. Unable to fight the sorrow he allowed the tears to flow. As he was casting out his sorrow he started thinking about Troy…he was going to miss him too and Wes was hoping that he was out somewhere fighting these monsters invading their city.

With the unconsciousness slowly taking over Wes rolled to his side heaving...he was having trouble catching his breathe. Lying there barely able to breath he felt something heavy on his shoulder winching with uncertainty of who or what was behind him trying to get his attention.

"Excuse me…but are you okay?"

Wes shifted this was human voice. He cried out in pain trying to see who was behind him. He remained on his side unable to move.

"Oh no…it looks like you have been seriously injured!"

Wes tried turning once more thinking how familiar the voice sounded. With all the strength he could muster, he shifted on his back.

He cried out in pain slowly opening up his eyes. "A...Power...Ranger..."

"Thank…you…" He tried reaching for the ranger.

The red ranger hesitates pulling away from him. Wes flinched wondering why the ranger was suddenly hesitate to help him.

"Whoa!" The red ranger stumbles to the ground.

Wes clutched the ground trying to stop from rolling back to his side. "We need to get you out of here."

That voice...Wes shifted his attention back over to the red ranger. "I know that voice…"

Mustering up his strength he looked up calling out to the ranger. "Troy…is that…"

A sudden sharp pain stuck Wes' head he cringed trying to fight the pain swirling inside his head. "I need to get you out of here...now!"

The ranger reached out for his chest, lightly applying pressure. The pressure vibrated throughout his insides with Wes crying out in pain.

"I think you busted some ribs." The ranger stood looking around the area. "Can you stand?" Wes remained mute…as everything around him started fading away.

He opened up his mouth but his voice had become stuck in his throat. He felt unconsciousness starting to roll over him.

His eyelids grew heavy with each blink. "I'm...sorry...but this may hurt..."

Wes felt light on his feet and through his blurred vision he saw that the red ranger had his arms wrapped around his shoulders. Dragging him along through the rubble Wes fought hard to stop the unconsciousness but it was too no avail as everything around him slowly fading away. Wes shut his eyes with head rolling forward slipping off unconscious...

"Wes…"

"Wes?"

Who was this voice calling out to him…it sounded so familiar and why was everything around him shrouded in darkness. Sudden he felt a sharp sensation of pain inside his head. That was strange how he could feel pain if he was no longer of this world. That's when it hit Wes...this pain was very real so that had to mean that he was…alive.

The pain started flaring up all throughout his body…this was a definite sign that he was alive...if so then why was everything surrounded in darkness?

"Wes?" called the familiar sweet voice.

He knew that voice…but why did it sound so distant. Rattling filled his ears while the same voice kept calling for him. Wes lied there shrouded in darkness…he wondering how he could escape to find the voice calling out to him. Struggling Wes clinched his teeth trying overcome the pain…then suddenly in that instance he saw the face that belong to the sweet voice.

"Wes!"

"Jen."

She pulls him into her arms mustering up as much strength as he could, Wes tried returning her embrace.

"Are you okay?" She shifted pulling away from Wes. He stared into her eyes nodding.

"Jen…" he started trying to find his voice.

A deafening boom rocked through the area.

He tried pulling Jen tightly in his arms trying to shield her out of harm's way. "Jen…where…are…we?"

"Downtown…or what's left of it."

Wes shifted looking around the abandoned alley…something was amiss with his mind shifted he started wondering how he ended up here. The last thing he remembered one of the Power Rangers saving him.

"Where is…he?"

"Where is who…Wes?" He turned to his wife. "Jen…how did you…get there?" he questioned.

She pursed her lips turning away. "Jen?"

"I followed you here...with the rest of our...team."

"Our team?!" Jen nodded not bothering to face him. "Do you mean the other Time Force rangers?"

She remained mute Wes following her line of vision saw morphed none other than both Katie, and Trip battling side by side in the dust-covered street. Wes swallowed hard thinking he was hallucinating.

"Katie…Trip?" Wes wondered out-loud. "Are you guys okay?" called a familiar voice. "Lucas!" Wes said peering in shock at the sudden appearance of Time Force blue.

"In the flesh…" he acknowledged with a nod.

"But how and when did you guys get here?"

"Don't worry Lucas…I'll keep an eye out on Wes."

Lucas nods turning away...Wes watched him dash away slipping into the chaos. He sighed shifting his attention back over to his wife.

"Jen…will you please tell me what's going on!"

She shifted her attention back over to him. "Wes…they contacted us a few days ago…warning us that an invasion was imminent…and that we should prepare for it."

"What…Jen are you serious?!"

"Yes…"

"You knew…but didn't bother to tell me?"

"Wes…" she started, "I'm so sorry…I didn't tell you because I didn't want to believe it." Wes turned away from his wife trying to calm the rage swelling inside.

"I'm so sorry…" she apologized once more.

"Jen…how could you?!"

"I'm sorry…" she wrapped her head in her hands.

"I have to go help them…"

"No…Wes you're too badly injured," Jen pleaded.

Wes struggled pushing Jen away…it took all of his strength to lift back to his feet. He cringed falling against the wall. "Wes!" He crumpled against the wall slowly edging towards the end of the alley.

"I can't believe this." Wes stood by watching in disbelief his teammates fighting the endless swarm of foot soldiers. His mind started shifting back to Tommy's message about the Great War.

He gasped looking on feeling his body shaking from the uncertainty.

"Could this really be it…the start of Legendary War?"

Wes shifted his thoughts over to the Megaforce Power Rangers.

"Why hadn't they still shown up?"

"I remember now…I did see one of the rangers…I think…it was Troy…" He gasp suddenly remembering his encounter with one of the Power Rangers. He started wondering where Troy but his thoughts stalled as Wes hovered against the wall as an explosion rocked the area.

Jarring Wes from his internal thoughts he shifted his attention over to his teammates they had come all the way from the future to help so there was no way he couldn't simply stand here he was their leader and he needed to help. Struggling Wes reaches for his chrono morpher.

"Wes…don't."

"Jen…let me go…" He jerked away from her grasp. "You're too badly injured," she warned holding his arm.

"I'm hurt…but I can't stand here and not help them out." Wes leaned against the wall peering at his wife standing before him. "Jen!"

"How can you go out there and fight in your condition? With busted ribs and a near fatal head injury?" she asserted.

Wes sighed allowing his body to fall against the wall. He hated to admit it but she was right, how could he fight in this condition.

She keeled before him gently coddling him in her arms. "Wes…I know that I can't stop you…but I can't stand the thought of losing you…"

He lifted his arms fighting the pain while wrapping her in his embrace. How could be upset with his wife, she was only looking out for his well-being as she had always done so. Despite the rattling chaos going on around them Wes felt the world fading away as they sat there entangled in each other's embrace. If there were any person that he wanted near his side in this moment it was definitely Jen. She was his rock, his all, Jen meant the absolute world to him and he couldn't imagine his life without his beloved Jen by his side. Wes decided in this moment that if things turned out for the worst and if they were to leave this world…that he were going to leave with his fateful wife by his side.

"Guys!" a familiar voice called cutting into Wes' internal thoughts. "Katie!" he called startled by her sudden appearance.

"We have to get out of here."

"Why?" Wes questioned.

"There's too many of them," Trip replied trailing next to Katie. Wes looked on speechless and stunned at the sight his former teammates all morphed.

"Whoa!" Wes turned to Jen. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine." Wes held on tightly to Jen as the earth continued rattling all around them. "Guys…we got to go…now!" Katie demanded.

"Trip," she called shifting her attention.

"Yes?"

"Help Jen with Wes."

"Got it."

"Wait…what's going on?" Wes demanded.

"We are getting out of here," Trip answered.

"Hurry this way," ordered Katie rushing down the alley.

"Guys…what about Lucas," Wes turned away watching Time Force blue fighting alone in the streets.

"He is providing relief…so we get everyone back to safety," answered Katie.

Flinching Wes leaned against Jen as both she and Trip held on to his shoulders lifted him to feet quickly skirting down the abandon alley. "Lucas..." Wes glanced over his shoulders with the chaos growing mute the further they headed down the alley...

"Jen…"

"Yes Katie?"

"You park somewhere over here right?"

"Yes…I parked over near that area."

"Let's get a move on it," Katie said leading everyone down an abandoned rubble-filled street some how along the way they had managed to dodge heavy airstrikes and another horde of foot soldiers.

"Hurry…let's get Wes inside," Katie said.

She hurried over to the car opening up the back passenger door. "Wes…I'm sorry but this going to hurt a bit," Trip warned.

Trying to mental prepare himself for the haul Wes shut his eyes wincing in pain as the three of them slowly lifted him into the back seat. Jen slid in next to him gently lifting his head cradling it in her lap. He reached out for her hand, embracing it in his own. Wes sighed shutting his eyes feeling a bit of relief washing over him.

"Do you see him?" Katie called.

"I think so," responded Trip.

"Hey you made it," Katie cried in relief.

"Did you guys have any doubt?" Lucas said in almost arrogance.

"Wes," Lucas called.

He opened up his eyes watching him slid into the driver's seat. He looked over and saw that all three of them were now demorphed. "Guys…are we ready?" Lucas asked.

"Ready as we'll ever, be," Trip said with a thumbs up.

"Let's go!" Katie said.

Wes shut his eyes almost instantaneously falling fast asleep...

Troy sighed trying to catch his breath. He looked around cautiously surveying the area...it seemed from the looks of everything that the coast was clear. He sighed slowly trudging down the soggy shoreline. Troy stumbled trying to hold his balance, he froze in place and finally after what felt like a lifetime the rattling ceased. Troy hurried along glancing at the deep blue skies…off in the distance he could see the raids of airships clogging the crisp skies through his visor. Troy shifted continuing along the sandy shores wishing that there was more that he could do. But at this point all his attempts were fruitless the team simply didn't have the means to defeat the invasion and besides how were they going to manage without Robo Knight.

As he continued along Troy saw the damage that the airstrikes had caused as he continued along the coastline and looks like he would need to take the long route back to the command center since there was no way that he could fight off the hordes of soldiers that were blocking access to the immediate area the beach that they used to get there. Troy had tried calling for help but his communicator was still dead, so with no access to his teammates or the command center he had no choice but to retreat. At this point Troy hoped that the team was safe and out of harm's way and that no one of them had done anything foolish like he had done. He didn't think for a second of running into harm's way to search for Robo Knight he was their teammate after-all but as Troy was running for his life the more he started thinking that perhaps his actions were foolish in retrospect. Although their mission as Earth's defender did require them to defend the people of Earth but nowhere did their mission call for the rangers to foolishly put their lives on the line.

As the team's leader it was his responsibility to offer guidance and leadership to the team while ensuring everyone's safety. So, could he could have so easily jeopardized their lives by his rash decision was the thought that was constantly running through his head. He decided in that moment that if anything happened that he could take full, complete responsibility. As Troy was gathering closer to the command center, he was hoping that everyone was alive and safe.

"There." Troy spotted the small formation of rocks gathered along the beach front.

Troy shifted his thoughts skirting along the shoreline hoping that Jake, Gia, Emma and Noah had managed to make it back to the command center in one piece...

Troy removed his helmet stepping inside of the command center. He took a long deep breath forging ahead. Troy gripped his belly that uncertainty was flaring up again. Ignoring the pain he continued along down the dimly lit hallway…from the looks of everything the command center still looked intact. Troy stopped dead in his tracks looking around. He gripped the side walls trying to hold steady...finally the rattling stopped. Trying to regain his composure Troy slowly trudged through the darken hallway swallowing hard at the sight of the hub of the command center. Voices flooded his head, could it be that his friends made back safely after-all.

There was only one way to find out…Troy trudged through the darken hallway ignoring the jarring knot twisting and gnawing inside his belly.

"Guys."

"Troy!" Emma rushed over to his side.

"Dude…" Jake stepped over to Troy. "Just like the first day of school…you're late but you know how to make an entrance."

Troy shuffled passed Jake silently thankful that all his friends were alive and well. "I've been searching for Robo Knight." Troy shifted his attention over to Master Gosei. "Can you find him?"

"I'm sorry Troy. I cannot. The armada has affected our communications systems…but I know you will defeat this new enemy cause of your fighting spirit. It is finally time for you to tap into the infinite powers that line the wall of this command center."

Troy shifted his attention over the wall of his predecessors this was it the moment where he and the others would finally be able to learn more about how they could tap into the powers of the past Power Rangers.

"These will be your new morphers." Troy watched as the phone device appears right before their eyes.

"With these and your new ranger keys you will be able to unlock your new super megaforce mode."

Troy glanced back and forth between both the morpher and his new red ranger key.

"A mode even stronger than ultra-mode?" Troy questioned, "incredible!"

"That's not all. The figures that line this command center are actually keys to unlock extraordinary powers. By using your new morphers you gain access to legendary mode where you can tap into special powers of all the rangers that preceded you."

In that same moment flashes of the legendary war started spinning inside Troy's head. "But it will challenge your strength every time you morph into a legendary Power Ranger," Gosei warned.

"Nothing we do is ever easy," Noah starts glancing down at everyone, "but we will take the challenge."

Troy smiled echoing his sentiments. "Wow…we can really use all these powers?" Emma questioned.

"The aliens are in for a big surprise," Gia quipped in her usual brazen way.

Troy shifted looking over their new artillery she was right their enemies were definitely in for a huge surprise. This was just the thing that they needed to help them defeat the invasion.

"Ugh…" Jake started, "Am I the only one that notices that my key is wrong color?!" Troy snickered looks like Jake's factious nature was coming out already.

Troy turned his attention over Gosei, thinking surely there were a simple explanation for why his key was a different color.

"Jake there is a simple explanation for that!"

A deafening boomed rattled through the command center. "What was that?!" Emma shrieked.

"You guys felt that?" Noah asked concerned.

"Felt what?" Gia said with a shrug. Suddenly the ground underneath them rattled. "Whoa!" Troy cried trying to keep up his balance. "Is everyone okay?" Troy shifted trying to maintain his composure that sweeping uncertainty started hitting him hard once again.

"Whoa they almost hit the command center!" Tensou cried spinning.

"Oh no…that's not good," Emma stated.

"We have to go stop them!" Gia called.

"Go rangers and put your new powers to use."

Upon his command Troy and the others rushed out of the command center all the while he was trying his best to fight the sweeping uncertainty as they trampled out into the danger zone...

Morphed and ready for action Troy and the others clambered through the torn remnants of downtown. This is the area where he and the others thought that most of the armada were present as they continued surveying the area. Troy gasped at the horrific scene around them everything was a mess with glass and shrapnel pieces scattered about while many of the once familiar sites and hangouts looked like someone had taken a wrecking ball to them. As they continued forging through the area screams pierced the air Troy shifted trying to find where the screams were coming from and through the corner of his vision he notices a horde of foot soldiers gathered around some innocent bystanders.

"No!" Troy wailed running ahead of the others. "Megaforce blaster!" His shot sent the alien flailing away from his intended targets.

"The rangers at last…a real fight!"

If this alien wanted a real fight it was surely what he was going to get. Troy glanced between his friends with everyone nodding their consent.

"We're outnumbered," Emma commented.

"That's not stopped us before…and it won't now!" Noah remarked.

"Come and meet your doom!"

"We better go ultra-mode," Gia suggested.

"No…not ultra…super mega. Let's power up!" Troy stepped up glancing around at the others.

"SUPER MEGA MODE!"

Within a matter of seconds Troy and the others stood morphed in their brand-spanking new powers. With a sudden rush of strength and resolve along with his new weapons in hand Troy launched this first attack charging ahead into the battle. As the fighting continued he knew that their enemies didn't stand a chance against them now…it would be only a matter of time before they would be able to start unlocking all the powers of the legendary rangers...

Wes opened his eyes cringing feeling the pain swirling inside his head. He gasped realizing he was back inside his home. The sudden realization startled Wes back to the present. He tried moving but every inch of his body ached with pain. Wes shifted trying to find a better suited position to lie, but the couch provided little comfort to do so. Sighing Wes wrapped his head in hands wondering how things could have gone so horribly awry. He was at one moment fighting with his wife over his excitement over becoming a Power Ranger again and yet in the next instant she was giving her full support. Then in the next instant Wes stood along morphed as Time Force red fighting and somewhere along he being rescued by none other than one of the Power Rangers who Wes was sure was Troy. He shifted his thoughts feeling glad that Troy was okay.

"Hey you're awake?" The familiar voice said cutting into his internal thoughts. "Jen…" Wes struggled trying to sit up.

"Honey…please be careful." Jen cautioned reaching over coddling his face.

"Jen…can you please tell me what's going on?"

"Look whose awake…"

"Lucas!"

"In flesh," he remarked with a chuckle. Following close behind him were both Katie and Trip. Wes watched all his teammates gather around their living room.

"Wes…how you hold up?" He shifted his attention over to Katie. "Okay…I suppose…" he mumbled.

"Wes…I'm sure that you were wondering how and when we got here?" she said stepping closer to the couch.

"Something like that…" he snapped impatiently.

"We contacted you guys a couple of days ago…after we had received information that the alien invaders were making their way into the Earth's atmosphere," Katie goes on to explain.

"We've been tracking their movements for quite sometimes…but we weren't didn't want to let anyone know till we were sure that they were heading into this orbit," Trip added.

"That's all good to know…but I…" Wes shifted his attention over to his wife, "had no idea that you guys had contacted us." Jen sighed gripping his hand. "Wes…I'm sorry I didn't tell you…"

"But…why Jen?"

"I knew how much it meant for you to become a Power Ranger again but…I was scared…"

"Scared…of what?!"

"That something might happen to you…"

"It's a little too late for that…" Wes jibed turning away.

"Wes…I realized that I should have said something but I honestly didn't believe that anything was going to happen…and once I saw the news of the invasion I felt it was only a matter of time before you found out. That's why I gave you my consent…once you saw that there was no way that anyone or myself could try to stop you…you're stubborn like that."

Wes sighed she was right in that regard at least he was stubborn in convictions and despite that conflict inside his heart he knew that he had done the right thing.

"We didn't know what to expect once we arrived here…" Katie said. Wes shifted his attention over to her wondering what she was getting at.

"When we arrived Jen told us that you had already headed out…" Trip said.

"Yeah…just like Wes to dive in head first," Lucas remarked laughing. Wes chuckled it was good to see that Lucas still had that remarkable dry good sense of humor about him.

"I was simply doing what I felt I had too…our city was under siege and the Megaforce Power Rangers were nowhere in sight…"

"Megaforce Power Rangers?" Trip questioned.

"What kind of name is that?" Lucas quipped.

"That's the current team of rangers assigned to protect the world."

"I see…we never made any contact with them," Katie stated.

"We came simply too offer some relief," said Trip.

"Relief?" asked Wes, "what do you mean?"

"We were thinking that this invasion could be the start of the Great War…" Katie announced solemnly.

Wes gasped shifting his attention. "Wes…are you okay?" Jen reached over offering him help.

"I'm fine." Wes turned away from his wife handing his teammates his undivided attention.

"Wait…so you guys do know about the Legendary War?" Katie, Trip and Lucas all glanced wearily at one another nodding.

So it seems Tommy Oliver did at some point let know them about this impending war.

"Legendary War?" Jen said looking around.

Wes swallowed hard he still had yet to tell her about the news he had received from Tommy.

"Jen you haven't heard about it?" Trip asked innocently.

"No…I haven't…" She shifted her attention over to Wes.

"It's this great war that will involve all the past rangers…" Trip continued explaining.

"All the past rangers?"

"Yes, all the former Power Ranger teams will be coming together to fight in this Great War," said Katie.

"Fighting who?"

"We're not too sure at this point…but we've been told to keep our eyes and ears open and to stay on guard," Trip added.

"But…I have a feeling that the invasion is only the beginning…" Katie sighed.

"Wes…did you know about any of this?" He shifted his attention over to Jen locking eyes.

"Wes?" she called.

"Guys…can you give us a minute?"

"Sure thing Wes." Trip immediately shuffled both he, Katie and Lucas in the kitchen.

"Wes…what's going on?"

"A few weeks ago…I meant up with Tommy Oliver. That's when I learned about the Legendary War."

"Is that so…" Jen shifted turning away.

"Jen…I really sorry that I didn't tell you…but I was so scared how you react to the news."

"Wes…I would be lying if I said that I wasn't upset you with but…" she trailed off.

"But…what Jen?"

"We…should seriously do some reevaluation of our relationship."

"What do you mean?"

"Why have we been keeping so many secrets from each other?" He gripped her hands bringing them closer to his heart.

"Jen…you're not suggesting…"

"No…I'm not saying that we need to separate but perhaps some counseling would do us some good. Wes I love you and I really want us to get back on track…"

"Jen…I know…I'm sorry for holding so much back from you…I never meant to hurt you."

"I know…" she whispered leaning in closer.

"I never thought the very thing that brought us together…would slowly start breaking us apart," she went on.

Wes reached out pulling his wife into his arms ignoring the sweltering pain coursing through his body Wes was trying his best to console Jen and give her the comfort to know how much he cared for her and that nothing in this world including the Power Rangers matters were going to break them apart...

Voices broke though Wes' struggling internal thoughts. "Too bad Eric wasn't able to make it," expressed Katie. "Eric," Wes said shifting his thoughts.

"What about him?" Jen said.

"Eric unfortunately wasn't able to come. He had some other obligations in Silver Hills to attend too," Trip expressed sadly.

That was strange it was not like Eric to forego his ranger duties…then again Eric had taken over leadership of the Silver Guardians and as their chief it was his duty to keep watch over Silver Hills. Wes sighed he understood that he had a job to do but at the same time he wished that he could see him…he was one of his good friend someone who he could count on and console his problems with.

"That's too bad…it would have been nice to see Eric," Jen commented.

"Same here…but we assured him that we had everything under control," Trip said with a bright smile.

"Guys…it looks like the current team of Power Rangers has things under control now." Katie lifting up a small device and within a matter of seconds Wes and the others saw the team in combat. Wes peered at the hologram wondering if those were the same Power Rangers that he had seen before...something about them looked different.

"Wes...Jen..." Katie shifted her attention over to both he and Jen.

"We hate to cut this short…but we should take our leave now." Both Trip and Lucas gathered around her nodding their consent.

"Guys…sorry that we couldn't meet under better circumstances," Jen said rushing to their sides.

Wes tried lifting but the pain wouldn't allow him to do. "Wes…you don't have to get up…we'll come to you," Trip joked.

"It was great seeing you all again." Wes looked feeling grateful to see his teammates again.

"Same here," remarked Katie with a bright smile wrapping Wes in her arms. He winched in slight pain forgetting about her super human strength.

"Wes, it was great seeing you again take care," said Trip.

"Thanks." Wes smiled wrapping his arms around Trip thinking He had grown into a nice-looking man since Wes had last saw him.

"Take care of yourself," Lucas started, leaning in closer, "you better be taking care of Jen."

"Of course," Wes remarked chuckling slapping his hand. Lucas looking as sharp and handsome, Wes snickered wondering how many women had since falling for his charming antics.

"Katie, Trip and Lucas…how will you guys know when the War starts?" Wes questioned shifting his thoughts.

"Don't worry Wes…we'll be here when the time comes," said Trip with a wink.

"We'll be there waiting for you to lead the Time Force team in victory," Katie commented with a smile. "See you guys."

He and Jen watched them disappear behind their front door…just as quickly as they appeared they were gone. "Wes…honey I think we both had enough excitement for today…how about I leave you alone so you can get some rest."

Wes threw Jen a short solemn nod. "I'll be out on the patio if you need me." She leaned over placing a small kiss on his lips.

He watched her till she too disappeared from his sight. Feeling isolated and alone Wes shut eyes trying to shift his thoughts away from all the events that transpired. As he lied there trying to get off to sleep his mind kept stalling on Troy wondering how he would go about talking him in his current condition. Slowly all those thoughts started fading away as he slowly slipped off into a restless slumber...

Troy walked along the edge of shoreline watching the waters whipping widely against the coastline. Spotting a large assortment of rocks Troy climbed over the rocks shifting his attention over to a comber floating in the water. With the sandy and chilly winds beating against his face he stood silent and still, but as he lingered there everything from the moment the invasion arrived, to receiving their new powers and rescuing his Uncle started piercing through his internal thoughts. Things seem to have somewhat gotten back on track once they defeated the first batch of aliens from the armada. Surprisingly Vrak were nowhere in sight. He and the others spent the last two days helping rebuild their school and today was the first day back to class since the invasion started. Tired and stressed Troy decided to take the day off needing a break from everything that was going on.

While Troy was happy that things were somewhat back on track he still couldn't seem to focus on anything else expect finding Robo Knight. Even after scouring through the beach as best he could while dodging multiple airstrikes their companion was nowhere in sight. It was almost as if he vanished into thin air. But surprisingly during his search he somehow stumbled into to the city. Troy couldn't believe the devastation as he combed through the tattered and empty streets of Harwood County. He fought his way through the hordes of foot soldiers somehow stumbling on his Uncle Wesley. Troy hesitated at first not sure if he was delusional but as he got closer he saw that it was definitely his Uncle. He tried keeping his composure as he approached him. Troy guided him back to safety by leaving him in an abandoned alley. He wanted to stay with him but with all the chaos going on Troy felt he had no chance but to continue on.

Troy wasn't all the sure of what happened to his Uncle after that point, but once he arrived back home that evening both his Aunt and Uncle were already in for the night. Surprisingly the next day Troy didn't see either one of them for breakfast. Later on that day Troy tried asking about his Uncle but his Aunt warned that he was sick and needed some time to rest but Troy knew that he was seriously injured and that she didn't want Troy to see him in such a condition. If things weren't bad enough at home Troy couldn't help but to worry over the fate of Robo Knight. Suddenly his thoughts started shifting back to that moment when Robo Knight handed him his Lion laser as he collapsed to the ground. Troy glanced down at his hands sliently recalling the very vow he made.

"Where are you Robo Knight?"

Troy peered out into the vast ocean shifting his thoughts back over to the present lingering along the edge of the shoreline engulfed in his own troubled thoughts...

Troy mindlessly wandering back over to his house sauntering inside. Not bothering to acknowledge his presence heading upstairs but as he was heading over to his room a light near game room caught his attention. Curious he stepped closer to his Uncle's study peeking inside.

"Troy."

"Uncle…Wes!" Surprised and startled Troy stepped inside lingering in the doorway. "You can come inside."

He slowly stepped inside shutting the door behind him. "Sorry…I saw the door open…"

"That's okay," Wes said with a warm smile.

"Troy…why don't you have seat." Wes gestured for him to take a seat next to him.

Reluctantly Troy swallowed hard taking a seat next to his Uncle on the leather couch. He appeared in good spirits despite his injuries.

"I'm sure you're wondering what all this is about?" He lifted up his arm in the sling.

Troy remained mute looking over the bruises covering parts of his face. He leaned back against the couch wondering if this was the opening for him to reveal his truth.

"Troy…I'm going to get to the point…" Wes started.

Troy shifted handing his Uncle his undivided attention. "I know that you're a Power Ranger."

Troy gasped turning away from his Uncle...that twist of panic started churning away at his insides.

"How did he know my secret?"

"Troy…" Wes called reaching out for him.

"I know you're wondering how I knew…right?" Troy nodded but remained quiet...the startling revelation seem to have muted his voice.

"Troy…I saw you and the others morph that day you went to the park."

Troy leered at his Uncle. "Were you following me?"

"No…no…" Wes pleaded. "I wanted to drop off your bag that you left behind…and I simply stumbled on you morphing…" he went on to explain.

Troy sighed thinking that he and the other need to think more carefully where and when they morph...there was no telling who else had seen him transform. Troy shifted turning to his Uncle. "I know that you were the one that came to save me...thank you for saving my life."

Troy retreated away from his Uncle. "I was only doing my duty."

"I'm sure you're wondering what I was doing out there?" Troy looked up but remained quiet.

"When I saw the news report over the invasion…I knew that I couldn't sit around and do nothing so I rushed out morphing thinking that I could stop them…goodness how wrong I was," he jokingly jibed shifting his attention over to his injured arm.

"Uncle Wes…all that matters is that you're okay." He looked up smiling, "thanks Troy."

"Do you know anything about the Legendary War?" Troy blurted out. He saw an instantaneous shift in Uncle Wes' demeanor.

"Yes…I do."

"Really? But how," Troy inquired curiously.

Wes smiled leaning forward, "let's just say some old friends informed me in great details of the Great War."

"Troy…now that the cat's out of the bag so to speak…we both need to stay vigilant, alert and on guard."

"Right," Troy readily agrees.

"I have a feeling that the time is near when we will meet each other in this great battle against evil…I'm looking forward to meeting you and your team out in the battlefield." Troy smiled feeling a sense of relief washing over his both his mind and spirits.

But as he sat there with his Uncle wondering if he should tell him about their newly found ranger powers. Troy had to admit it was exciting that they could morph into the past Power Rangers. A chill of excitement ran down Troy's spine at thought of being able to transform into Time Force red someday. Troy reeled in those excited thoughts feeling drained from all the events that had transpired over the past two days.

A long involuntarily yawn escaped his throat. "I'm sorry."

Wes chuckled, "I take that as a sign that you're probably ready for bed. After-all every super hero needs their rest…especially with school in the morning."

Troy stood to his feet. "Don't remind me," he jokingly said.

"Troy…thanks…"

Troy shifted turning to his Uncle. "For what?"

"For saving your old Uncle." Troy turned his attention over the floor feeling the slightly fluttered by his Uncle flattering sentiments. "No problem…I know you would do the same for me."

"Good night, Troy."

"Night Uncle Wes." Troy turned stepped out of his study.

He sighed leaning against the wall Troy couldn't believe that all this time he was aware of his secret identity as a Power Ranger. There was part of Troy that felt relief but in the same instance he didn't want his Uncle to worry over him. Troy shifted his thoughts back over to their mission their new ability to morph into the past teams of Power Rangers had placed them on equal ground with the armada forces. Although he wasn't all that sure what lied ahead for their team it made him happy knowing that they weren't alone in this battle and with the powers of the past Power Rangers they would be the victors in this battle against the armada and any others that stood in the way of their missions as Earth's Defenders.

Troy vowed from this moment on that he would fight till the end gripping his fist together vowing that he would do whatever it takes to find Robo Knight along the way. Troy shifted his thoughts stepping away from the wall. He stepped inside his darken room falling against the bed mindlessly watching the ceiling-blade fans spin around and around till he slowly slipped off into a deep slumber...
