"Thomas?!" The four of them exclaimed.

"That's right, Thomas!" Thomas boasted. "I did this!"

"What the heck Thomas?!" Muscle Man shouted. "Why did you waste the orb like that?!"

"Don't pretend you don't know." Thomas said. "You took advantage of me for that orb. You never wanted me to play. You just wanted me to get the orb and you were gonna kick me out as soon as you got it. I heard you talking about it outside of the church!"

"Oh... that." Muscle Man said. "Listen Thomas-"

"No," Thomas interupted, "I don't want to hear it. You guys are going to pay for this!"

"Thomas, be reasonable!" Rigby pleaded.

"Your game is going to be ruined just like mine was!" Thomas shouted.

Thomas stood straight up like a statue and grabbed his staff with both hands. He lifted it and slammed it on the ground, causing an invisable force to knock the party back and on to the floor.

As they slowly got up, they caught eye of Thomas in the middle of conjuring another spell. He was waving his staff in the air in circles with a black ball of energy slowly getting bigger over him.

"Well, looks like we don't have a choice." Muscle Man said while unsheathing his mace.

Mordecai tried to convince Muscle Man not to hurt Thomas, but it was too late. He already charge off for an attack and soon after the others got the same idea. It was as if they forgot what would happen to Thomas's mortal form.

Muscle Man ran towards Thomas while dodging the dark balls of energy that was being thrown towards him. He was finally close to Thomas for a swing.

Clank. Clank. Clank. Muscle Man preformed three downwards swings only to be deflected by Thomas's staff, with every hit bringing him closer and closer to his knees. The third strike broke his staff in two. Thomas quickly threw the two haves away and lifted his arms into the air in a 'wave' motion, causing a black cloud to launch Muscle Man into the ceiling. He fell to the floor, groaning in pain. Bruises were noticeable around his body.

Rigby positioned himself near the back of the room against a wall and readied a shot. Fives was in the process of conjuring fire from his wand.

"You asked for this!" Rigby said.

Rigby fired. Fives fired. The two shots collided to form a flaming arrow. They did this twice. Both of them quickly fired towards Thomas.

To their dismay, Thomas caught them both.

He began rubbing the two flaming arrows together and infused his own magic into them to create a large flaming ball. Thomas launched the ball in a rolling fashion towards Rigby. Before it even touched him, it exploded in front of him, leaving nothing but a hole in the wall in it's wake.

Fives was briefly shocked before placing his focus back on Thomas. Thomas extended his arms, with his right arm being farther than the left, and launched a stream of dark magic out of hims palms. Fives quickly casted electricity out of his wand and the two collided, fighting for dominance.

The two were even in power, until Five's magic soon showed it was overwhelming Thomas's. Thomas quickly looked around and saw a part of his staff at his feat. He kicked it up, and it hit Fives in the face.

His electricity stopped, and dark magic overwhelmed him.

Mordecai looked around the room. He stood back and witnessed the pain and misery of his friends. He knew he should have fought, but he knew that it wouldn't be right.

Now he was alone, with Thomas still blinded by anger.

"Thomas, you gotta stop." Mordecai said. "You don't understand."

"Man," Thomas said with a smirk on his face "you guys really love this game don't ya? It looks like my assumption is correct, something bad will happen to your characters if they die."

"It's more than just the characters Thomas!" Mordecai pleaded.

"Even more reason to defeat you." Thomas said. "You're lucky that I am all out of mana, so you get a fair fight."

Thomas opened his palm and grabbed thin air. As he did, a dark sword apeared out of thin air. Thomas grabbed it by the hilt and raised it over his head horizontally.

He started to charge towards Mordecai, practically begging for a fight.

"Thomas wait!" Mordecai said quickly.

"I've waited long enough for this!" Thomas shouted.

Thomas got to Mordecai.

He swung his sword downward towards Mordecai.

Clank.

Mordecai unsheathed his sword and deflected his strike. He pushed him away and stood still, trying to avoid confrontation, but it was inevitable.

They parried sword attacks throughout the room. Thomas eventually grabbed Mordecai by the neck and was ready to plunge his sword into his chest. Mordecai preformed a karate chop on his arm and he immediately retracted his arm. Mordecai pushed him to the floor and ran across the room. Thomas threw his sword at Mordecai's feet. It did not pierce his leg, but it caused Mordecai to trip on it.

The sword disappeared and instantly reappeared in the grasp of Thomas. He jumped and somersaulted into the air and did a downwards strike towards Mordecai. Mordecai rolled out of the way and backed away from Thomas.

Still relentless, Thomas kept clashing swords with Mordecai. After a couple of parries, he kept doing doing delayed horizontal strikes at Mordecai.

Clank. Clank. BOOM. The third strike caused a shock wave that pushed Mordecai towards the hole that was previously made in the wall that was made in the process of eliminating Rigby.

He got to the edge of the hole. He looked downwards outside the tower while trying to keep his balance. He finally regained it and took a step forward. He saw Thomas rushing towards him. As he got in striking distance, Mordecai summersaulted over him and extend his right leg backward, causing Thomas to fall out of the tower.

Mordecai turned around and looked down. Thomas was griping the ledge of the broken wall. He was on the verge of letting go.

Knowing that Thomas wont stop, Mordecai pointed his sword towards Thomas.

Thomas smiled.

"Well, guess I'm beat." Thomas said.

Mordecai said nothing.

"What are you waiting for?!" Muscle Man shouted from across the room. "Finish him!"

"I can't!" Mordecai shouted back.

"Why?!" Muscle Man shouted in response.

"You know why!" Mordecai shouted while turning around to make sure Muscle Man heard it.

Thomas manage to climb back up. As soon as he did, he preformed a diagonal strike at Mordecai's back. Mordecai screamed in pain and fell to his knees.

"You should have finished me when you had the chance!" Thomas said. "Now let's see what the death penalty for this game is!"

"The death penalty is our lives, Thomas!" Mordecai shouted. "Our real life lives!"

"What..?" Thomas said with a little sympathy.

"We recently discovered that whatever happens to us in the game, happens to us in real life." Fives said while pushing himself up off the ground.

"What?!" Thomas exclaimed while dropping his sword. "If I knew that, I wouldn't have done this! I didn't want to kill you."

Mordecai slowly got back up on his feet. As he stood, he leaned forward on a hunch.

"It's okay Thomas." Mordecai said. "We should have let you play the game with us and not just use you to get some stupid treasure. We're sorry."

Thomas exchanged apologizes with the others and eventually their virtual selves were on their way out of the tower. Things slowly returned to their original state in the world, but that didn't matter. Now knowing the consequence of injury in the game, they vowed to never touch it again.

Once in the real world, they all went into their respective living quarters and laid in bed. Their bodies were covered in bruises from the fight. Thomas offered to take care of them until the paramedics came.

After finishing tending to Muscle Man and Fives for the time being at their trailer, he went back into the house and prepared soup for Mordecai and Rigby, and carried it into their rooms. Mordecai laid in his bed, while Rigby laid on his trampoline.

"Seriously Thomas," Mordecai said, "you don't have to do this."

"Dude!" Rigby said. "When someone offers you soup, you don't deny it!"

Thomas chuckled as he gave them both their soup.

"Its cool guys." Thomas said. "It's the least I can do for, ya know, almost killing you."

"Alright, alright." Mordecai said while taking a sip of his soup. "In a little while, Rigby and I are going to limp over downstairs to play some video games, wanna join us."

"Sure bros," Thomas said, "call me so I can help you guys downstairs."

Thomas walked out of the room and closed the door. Benson suddenly approached him with an angry expression on his face.

"Thomas do you know what the heck is going on?!" Benson shouted.

"Oh Mordecai and Rigby were... injured on the job." Thomas said nervously. "They'll be out of commission for a while."

"I'm not talking about them!" Benson said. "I wanna know why there are two huge monsters making out at the back of the house!"

"Errr... What?" Thomas asked.

Benson led Thomas to a near by window. Benson opened it and they saw the female monster from the forest and the Irish winged dimension jumping monster in a loving embrace. They stopped and looked at Thomas and Benson.

"Do you mind?!" The Irish monster said. "We're on our first date and trying to have a moment here!"

"Honestly, it's a miracle of miracles how I found a man who isn't complete scum!" The female monster said.
