Hi everyone:) I hope you enjoy reading my story and I would really love any sort of feeback!

Update:

August 2014; I decided that I want to start revamping this story because I'm not satisfied with it anymore. I'm doing it chapter by chapter and rather slowly because school is just keeping me super busy and also I seem to have lost the documents containing the more recent chapters, meaning I have to retype them completely! I'm terribly sorry for rambling!

Hermione's POV

I decided to stay in Muggle London with my parents after the war, partially because I desperately needed a reprieve from the magical community before I went back to Hogwarts to redo my last year and also because I hadn't seen my parents for ever so long. I had found my parents in Australia and thankfully, managed to restore their memories. They had, of course, been positively furious with me but they were understanding and realized that I only wanted to protect them and were aghast when I told them what had happened to the Wizarding Community whilst they were in Australia.

I stepped into the library near my house, sighing in relief as I finally got reprieve from the sweltering sun. I quickly dropped off my borrowed books and headed off in search of new ones. As I walked by the counter, I smiled at Jess, the librarian, who knew me from my very frequent visits to the library. I stopped in front of the 'Recommended Reads' shelf and randomly selected a book. "The Mysterious Killings". I shuddered and hastily put it back. The events of the past year had put me off anything involving death, horror and even mystery. I picked up 3 books they looked "safe" and went to the check out counter. I got out my wallet to remove my library card but accidentally dropped it. I sighed and reached down to pick it up but someone else beat me to it. I gasped.

"Here you go, Granger. Still as clumsy as always, I see." Draco Malfoy, stood up and presented my card to me with a half smile, hair falling into his eyes. I simply stood there staring my brain unable to process that Draco Malfoy was in Muggle London, in a library surrounded by muggles, smiling and being kind to a muggle-born. When I made no move to take it back, he pressed the card into my hand and sauntered off.

"Good going Hermione! He's hot stuff" Jess winked at me. I blushed scarlet and handed her my card. On the way home, I wondered if maybe the war wasn't such a bad thing after all if even the most anti-muggle purebloods could learn that the ideology they had been brought up with was flawed and could change.

When I got home, I deposited my books down and apparated to the Leaky Cauldron to meet up with Harry and Ron, my boyfriend. I told them about my run in with Malfoy at the library.

" I agree with you. He really does seem to be changing. The other day I saw him at Fortescue's buying a little girl an ice-cream because she had dropped hers on the floor and was bawling her eyes out. He even said good afternoon to me politely on the way out. I'm glad that he was able to change." Harry agreed. I looked at Harry appreciatively, as he shared my sentiments exactly. Ron, however, was a different story.

"Whatever. Once stinking ferret always a stinking ferret." He proclaimed.

" Ron, come on, people can change. I think we should give him a chance because now people look to us as role models and if we aren't able to forgive how will anyone else?" I said gently.

" That's bull. He'll always be a good for nothing slytherin. I don't know why you and Harry bother to have faith in him. Now excuse me, I'm going to the bathroom." He glared and stormed off.

I sighed in frustration. Ron was still so immature sometimes and refused to let bygones be bygones.

I chatted with Harry for a while but frowned when I checked my watch. Ron had been in the bathroom for 7 minutes already.

" I think I'll go check on him. Hopefully he's calmed down a little by now." I got up and went off in search of Ron. Turns out, I didn't have to look much because as soon as I got to the toilets I saw Ron making out with Lavender Brown against a wall, his hand up her shirt. Anger flooded me and I stalked towards them.

"Excuse me, you're blocking the hallway." I said coolly.

"Hello? Can't you see we're trying to- Hermione!" Ron jumped back from Lavender as he saw me standing there, arms crossed.

"Hermione, it's not what you it looks like, babe! I can ex-"

I laughed . "Then what, pray tell is it?" I raised an eyebrow, eyes cold.

"Well, Lavender is just helping me relieve tension you know. You never make any effort to look good and you never want to have sex! I'm a grown man with needs and if you can't help me I have to go to someone else don't you see?" He protested.

When in the wrong, blame Hermione. Just like usual.

" Is that it then? Well then, you're far shallower than I thought Ronald Weasley. Goodbye." I glowered at him and apparated straight into my room. I collapsed on my bed sobbing. I hate him, I hate him, I hate the bloody bastard. How could he?

Harry's POV

Ron told me that he had broken up with Hermione and that she had already left. He didn't seem upset at all which was puzzling. I apparated home and wrote Hermione a letter asking what had happened. A couple of hours later, I got a reply, scrawled, so unlike Hermione's normal neat, sophisticated script. As I read, I became more and more enraged. Ron cheated on Hermione, with the bint Lavender Brown of all people! I wanted to floo over to the Burrow this instant and pummel him but Hermione was more important right now so I apparated over to comfort her.

Thanks for reading
