The Dragon's Brother

"How do we find the nest?" asked Gobber at a meeting of the tribe late on night.

"We don't" said Hiccup, "they do." The dragon rider pointed at Toothless.

"The dragon's can sense where the queen is. The call is too powerful for them to resist" he explained.

"We head out at light" said Stoick, "the ships are always ready."

Once the meeting was over, Stoick, Gobber, Hiccup, and Toothless walked back to the hut. Hiccup never noticed that Gobber and Stoick were walking a little ahead, and both were whispering to one another under their breath.

Back at the home, the Haddocks sat at the table while Gobber started to make a broth for their dinner.

"Tomorrow will be tough" said Hiccup, "we are all going to have to work together." Stoick nodded.

Gobber placed the broth down in front of them. Hiccup started eating while he kept talking about fighting the nest. He suddenly felt his eyes get droopy and he nearly fell into the half empty bowl of broth had his father not caught him.

Toothless immediately started to sniff his brother and looked at Stoick.

"We had too" said Stoick, "I don't think either of us will want him to go to the nest. He should be drugged for long after we had left. You have to come with us, and we might have to tie you up, to protect you. If what Hiccup said about the queen is true, then you might be under her spell."

Toothless thought for a second then nodded.

He lost his mother, he didn't want to lose Hiccup to evil either. He watched as Stoick took Hiccup upstairs and into the bedroom that had some homely possessions to it, such as drawings and sketches and some clothes that had been donated to Hiccup thrown over the floor.

Stoick gently tucked Hiccup in and left. Toothless licked Hiccup's hand and left too.

This was for the best.

Toothless allowed Stoick to tie him to the boat while the vikings worked in the dead of night.

"We'll all take turns sleeping" said Stoick as they set off as quietly as they could. The men nodded. Toothless turned back to the island.

If they survived, Hiccup was going to kill him.

They made great time getting to the nest, and were soon setting up.

Stoick could see that Toothless was under the control of the queen, his hissing and spitting at the Vikings that moved close to him.

Stoick breathed a sigh of relief that his son wasn't here to see Toothless.

Hiccup woke with a start. The sun was high in the sky. The teenager quickly ran from his house, where no one was, and to the overlook a the docks to see all the boats left.

"They left without me?" he whispered in shock.

"What am I going to do now?" he asked himself turning quickly with his hand in his hair.

Hiccup caught sight of the teenagers.
