It was 0300 and Gibbs was downstairs working on his boat because he couldn't sleep. He was sanding his boat, when he was disturbed by the sound of his basement steps creaking. He looked up and saw Abby standing at the top of his steps.

"Abs?" Gibbs asked, "You alright?" Abby shook her head and walked downstairs solemnly. Abby wouldn't look Gibbs in the eye, she just sat on his chair and leaned over and buried her face in her hands. Gibbs knew that something was wrong. He kneeled in front of her and moved her hands from her face. She had tears coming down her face. Gibbs was now really worried. He wiped some tears off of her cheeks. "Hey," Gibbs said to get her attention, "What's wrong? What happened?" Abby quietly sobbed and Gibbs hugged her, she wrapped her arms around him and sobbed on his shoulder. Gibbs got scared.

"Can I stay here tonight?" Abby asked sadly.

"Of course," Gibbs said rubbing her back, "Are you going to tell me what's wrong?" Abby pulled away slightly to look at him.

"Luca w-wanted to get to know K-Kyle, so they went out at some club. They drank a lot, so they were going to walk to Kyle's house, when then were w-walking home a drunk driver lost control of his car and hit them!" Abby was hysterical, "They- they d-died on impact." Abby was now sobbing. Gibbs sighed and held her. She sobbed on his shoulder.

"Oh, Abby, I'm so sorry," Gibbs said.

"Why does this always happen? I thought that everything was going to be okay, now that I had Luca and Kyle, but…," her voice drifted and she was hysterical.

"Abby, it's okay. Everything is going to be okay."

"Are you sure?" Abby asked looking at him. Gibbs nodded and kissed her forehead, and then he stood up and grabbed Abby's hands and lifted her up. He walked her up the steps and sat her down on the couch. He went in the kitchen and got her some water; he handed it to her and kissed her cheek. She took a couple of sips, and then she put the glass on the coffee table. He sat next to her and she was so upset. She grabbed her purse that was next to her and she pulled out dog tags.

"Luca was a marine," Abby said simply, "These were…his." Abby was so hysterical. Gibbs put his arm around her and brought her close. Abby cried against him.

"Yeah, Abs," Gibbs said, "I know it hurts, but it gets easier." Abby looked over at him and nodded. Gibbs kissed her forehead.

"Now I…Now I-I'm all alone now G-Gibbs," Abby said.

"No, you're not Abby," Gibbs said holding her closer, "No, you're not."

"I'm not?"

"No, you're not. You have the team, Ducky, Palmer, Vance, and me. You have all of us and we're not going to leave you Abby."

"Promise?"

"I promise, Abby," Gibbs said holding her closer. He knew that they all wouldn't be around forever, but at that moment it gave her comfort… which was something she very much needed. Gibbs knew that for as long as he was around that there would always be someone for her when she needed someone. At that moment that was all that mattered.

"I love you, Gibbs."

"I love you, too, Abby."
