The nightmares just kept on coming, but the Guardians kept on fighting. They had the upper leg (which was Jack and the children's belief) and they weren't about to stop now. Jack was fighting off some nightmares by himself, and the Guardians peeked at him when they could to make sure he was okay.
Jack looked to his right, and saw a nightmare coming for him. He look to his left, another nightmare. He straightened himself and dove just in time to miss the nightmares, but hit another nightmare, knocking his staff out of his hand. He gasped, not being able to control his powers without it. He began grabbing for it. Pitch noticed this and smirked.
"Get him," he pointed to Jack.
A nightmare shot towards Jack, but Jack was focused on his staff, and the others were getting too swarmed to watch him. Just as Jack was in reach of his staff, the nightmare grabbed the hood of his hoodie and jerked him away.
"Hey!" he gasped in shock.
The nightmare got to Pitch fairly quickly, tossing Jack onto the black sand structure Pitch was standing on. Jack grunted as he came into contact in it. He quickly flipped on his back and froze to see Pitch towering over him. Pitch smirked.
"Jack Frost," he observed. "Defenseless and powerless. What an advantage for me." Jack's eyes widened as Pitch pulled a dagger knife made of black sand from under his cloak.
Jack's staff landed in the sleigh, and Bunny and North both jumped, looking at it.
"Jack!" Bunny hollered, looking around for the now-powerless spirit. He saw Pitch beginning to raise his hand, holding a weapon, to something he couldn't see. "Get closer to Pitch, mate! I think he has Jack!"
North wasted no time, and sped towards Pitch and Jack. Pitch raised the weapon high - which Bunny now realized was a dagger knife - and Bunny caught a glispe of white.
"No!" Bunny shouted, throwing a boomerang. It hit Pitch square in the wrist and knocked the dagger away.
A whip of golden sand shot past them, wrapping around Jack's waist. Bunny turned to see Sandy pull the whip back. Bunny turned just in time to catch Jack in his arms. Bunny set Jack on his feet and he looked at them in shock.
"What's wrong, mate?" Bunny asked.
"You guys," he stuttered. "You ... h-helped me?"
"Of course," North replied. "You are Guardian."
Bunny saw the slightest hint of a smile appear on Jack's face, and it made Bunny smile as well. Tooth landed in the sleigh.
"Let's go before anyone else almost gets hurt!" she suggested.
North quickly opened a portal with a snow globe and we hurried back to the North Pole. The portal closed before any of the nightmares or Pitch could follow us.
Jack picked up his staff and smiled. They landed just outside of the North Pole and Jack hurried out. The Guardians couldn't believe how quickly he recovered from a near-death experience. They watched as Jack gathered up snow.
"Think fast!"
He hit Bunny square in the face with a snowball. The other three laughed and they all joined in on the snowfight of their lives.
