Extra Snippet

Because I feel useless if I'm not writing

Also I have some exciting news. I'll tell you about it later.

Carly was wondering around the Lightwood house. It was so different from the house she had grown up in. This house radiated warmth and happiness whereas her family house just…well it might as well have been a fucking glacier. Sad, but true, her family had never really been the kind to have group hugs or even half honest conversations. And they definitely weren't familiar with the concept of positive reinforcement. They had always been like little puppets being controlled by her grandfather.

Carly sighed and tried to shut the depressing memories out. This was not about her. Today was about Alec. Well actually it was about Izzy and Simon, but Carly couldn't help but rejoice about Alec finally settling things with Magnus. How many times had that boy fallen asleep with tears in his eyes, she couldn't count.

"I like your hair." She heard a strangely velvety voice say. She immediately spun around and was faced by a tall platinum blond wearing a floral print dress. On any one else it would have probably looked tacky as hell, but on her it looked absolutely stunning. It made Carly look down at her plain yellow summer dress and grimace.

"You know, I believe it's only god manners to say thank you when someone gives you a compliment," the blond said.

"Oh, well… Thanks," Carly replied.

"So…you've been living with Alec in New York," the blond said, not really asking a question. It was more like she was stating a fact and waiting for Carly to agree with her.

"Um, yeah. Alec and I live together. I don't really know what will happen now. I think he might want to stay here…You know, because Magnus and him are kinda, eh, close." Carly gave a nervous laugh.

"What's so funny about that?" The blond asked, tilting her head a bit, exposing the greenest eyes Carly had ever seen. Mostly they looked like the woods she had seen in Vancouver.

"Oh nothing. I was just thinking about how much fun it'll be when I'll have to explain to my parents that my 'boyfriend'," Carly made quotation marks in the air. "…was gay and decided to stay home with his fabulous boyfriend."

"Hmm…that does sound like quite the problem," the green eyed woman said.

"Oh, you haven't heard the best part yet," Carly said, laughing a bit. "As soon as my parents find out that I'm single, they'll try to marry me off to the most 'suitable' guy, and by their standards 'suitable' means the most pretentious and rich guy they find."

"You say the word 'guy' like it's some disgusting disease," the blond said and flipped her hair, exposing her elegant pale neck and collarbones.

"Well…" Carly fumbled with her words. "I'm just so done with my parents trying to set me up with guys. You know, because they want to change who I am. And I'm really not cool with that. At least when they thought Alec and I were together, they left me alone."

"So I take it you don't exactly play for the 'right' team," the blond said.

"Who is to say what's the right and what's the wrong team," Carly snapped with an, oh, so familiar flame of anger beginning to burn inside her.

"Hey," the blond raised her hands up in defense. "In my book they are all the right teams."

"Oh…I just. I'm sorry, I'm just tired of listening to…all that," Carly said, brushing her hand through her lavender locks. She felt herself flush a bit.

"I hear you," the blond woman said, the corners of her mouth tugging up. "Say, would you like to have a drink with me? I'm gonna get wasted anyway, so I might as well have good company."

"I don't know. I generally don't drink with people who I don't even know by name," Carly said, feeling the infectious affect of the blond woman's smile. She was fighting hard not to straight out grin. She couldn't believe this goddess was asking her to get a drink with her. Maybe she was reading into this too much, but life's too short for explanations anyways.

"Well, do you wanna see a magic trick?" The blond woman asked her. Carly nodded, excited.

The woman extended her hand to Carly. "My name is Camille Belcourt, and abracadabra you know me by my name."

Carly took her hand, it was soft and her nails were perfectly cut with a French manicure. "Wow, that's pretty impressive."

"I know right," Camille said, letting out a laugh.

"You know any more magic tricks?" Carly asked her.

Camille locked her arms behind her back and gave Carly a lazy smile. "Well I guess you'll just have to wait and find out."

Carly only hesitated for a second. She bit her lip, a nervous habit she'd picked up from Alec, and gave Camille's hand a squeeze. "My name is Carly Reign, what are we drinking?"

So, I know it's kind of a cliffie, considering that's all there is, but I wanted you guys to be able to decide what happens to Carly and Camille. So I hope you liked it even a little. This snippet was written, because one of you wanted Carly to find someone at the wedding so…abracadabra, she did! I'm almost as good as Camille when it comes to magic tricks.
