Epilogue

One year later

Underworld

A whole year had passed since Kim and Shego came to Persephone's aid. A year since the then Goddess of Innocence, now Queen of the Underworld vowed to make to return to Hades for several months out of the year. Now adorned in a black tunic dress with a violet hem that had a violet heart on the lower front of her dress. The heart had two chains wrapped around and wrapped around Persephone's lower half up to her waist. It was an odd decorative choice for a goddess of innocence.

She also wore a black choker with a silver necklace attached to it. She stood from atop a balcony in Hades' palace. She looked out into the realm of her husband. A land of grey crags, with an abysmal view. She really disliked it here, it was no Olympus, and it definitely lacked the beauty of the world above. Still it was a price she paid to save her cousins who tried to free her from Hades' grip.

She sighed. 'Has it really been that long?' the goddess thought.

She leaned on the balcony sighing again. She hadn't seen Hades for days. The god of the underworld was preparing to travel to Olympus tomorrow and Persephone was going to be left to watch over the realm. Hades was going to report that Kim's soul was among the denizens of the underworld, the only problem was that her soul had not been found yet. With it being well over a year that fact that the fallen general had not been seen was very abnormal.

This caused some disorder between the Olympians and Hades and for a time there was tension in the air. Persephone took it upon herself to search the vast realm she presided in. Her search didn't last long as she searched the one place the gods did not. A place in the underworld known as Elysium. The Elysian Fields lied in a location to the far west near the waters of Oceanus, son of Uranus and titan brother to Cronus.

Persephone walked through fields where heroes, the righteous and those who were champions of the gods like Kim herself resided. A small smile graced her face as she continued her stroll through the park. Perhaps it is here she would spend most of her days if only to escape the dismal conditions she resided in. While she continued onward Persephone could have eluded the watchful eyes of those who guides souls to either torment or bliss. Neither Acheron divider of the world of the living and the dead as well as Charon the ferryman of the River Styx had seen the redhead. Maybe Kim wanted to be alone after all she had been violently ripped away from those she loved not once but twice.

Persephone could sympathize with the demi-goddess. Persephone did wonder if the Athenian considered that day a victory or defeat. A question she would ask when they met again. After walking through the Elysian Fields for over an hour she came to a stop when she spotted a red head. The red head sat perched upon a large rock overlooking a field of flowers. Persephone then strode over to the red head.

Persephone didn't stay to long just long enough to reconcile with the woman. She returned to find that Hades had been searching for her. She told him of her travel to Elysium where she spotted an all too familiar looking red head. Surprised that Kim was able to get into Elysium without being seen puzzled him, but at least he had confirmation on the red head. Pleased he escorted Persephone back into the palace to await tomorrow's arrival.

Olympus

On Olympus sat Demeter. Looking over Greece as she did awaiting the months to pass until Persephone would come home. Demeter saddened by this still neglected to tend to her duties over the land, and thusly the leaves began to fall from trees, paving way for winter to set in. Still there were other events still fresh in her mind such as Hestia's trial for her actions against Olympus one year ago.

One year ago

It was the following day following Kim's defeat by Ares. Hestia and Demeter aided the escape of the Athenians friends. It was an action that did not go unnoticed on Olympus. The gods consulted amongst themselves to determine the culprit. With fellow Olympians Artemis and Hermes dead they were quickly ruled out. The search was quickly narrowed down to Demeter and Hestia who were notably absent at the time. Zeus had sent his sons Ares and Hephaestus to retrieve his older sisters.

Hestia, Demeter and Persephone were brought in, but Persephone was told to stand wait out in the halls. Demeter and Hestia had their hands tied together either though they did not resist to being brought in. As they were brought before their fellow gods and goddesses Demeter glanced at Hestia who seemed unnerved by the judgment she was sure they were to face.

'How can she be so calm right now? Surely she knows the punishment. We'll be lucky if being banished to the pits of Tartarus is all that happens to us.' Demeter thought.'

"Do you know why you are here?" Zeus said as she stared at his sister.

"It's about yesterday's events." Demeter said.

"You two were not present. Care to explain where you were?" Hera asked though she was more than sure she knew the answer.

"King and Queen of the gods you may be, but you are our younger siblings." Demeter said to Zeus and Hera as she motioned between herself and Hestia. "Some respect would be nice." As she glared at her younger sister.

"If it is true that your actions reflect negatively on Olympus our respect is the least of your worries." Hera countered with a side long glance.

"Did you or did you not aid in the escape of the oath breakers that killed my sister?" Apollo asked with a low growl.

Demeter was about to answer when Hestia spoke first. "I did aid in their escape."

"Hestia."

"Demeter came to stop me, but I would not have it." The goddess claimed.

"You traitor, do you know what you have done?" Apollo asked infuriated at his aunt.

"Yes I stopped a war that you were all so foolishly willing to start. I told you to make peace with Kim. Instead you let your fears get the better of you. You feared what she could become, what she could inspire, that you failed to realize it was your acts of selfishness is what pushed the Athenian to this point."

"You pin the blame on us?" Hera asked.

"You started it all Hera. Your insatiable need to feel superior to everyone almost brought doom to Olympus. What was it about Kim that you feared sister? Was it being replaced? That she was stronger than you?"

"I feared nothing from that harlot! She was a sinner and was promptly punished thusly. Now others have taken up her crusade, and they will meet the same fate for participation of an Olympian's death." Hera answered.

"Don't talk as if you actually cared for Artemis." Hestia said correcting her youngest sister.

"You should heed your own advice." Athena said speaking up. The goddess of wisdom sporting some bruises, her long blonde hair tied into a ponytail. "Kim was full of pride. She thought herself equal to us. That is ill thinking of a mortal. We shaped their world, they need only obey the rules we set out for them."

"What happened to you all? As gods we are important to mankind's survival yes, but there are things we are meant to uphold. We are to demonstrate leadership, benevolence to those in need of it." Hestia said.

"We are the gods! We will not play second fiddle to an ill-mannered mortal and her delusions of grandeur!" Poseidon said interrupting his sister.

"We are not above reproach. All we did is show that we will reward those faithful to us with a fate underserving of the worst criminals."

"Enough!" Zeus said tired of hearing the bickering of his fellow gods. "Where is the Essence of Hyperion, Hestia?"

"I'll never reveal where I've hidden it. It is out of the reach of those who would use it to chase down the Amazon Princess and her friends." Hestia answered.

Zeus grew enraged with his sister and her blatant defiance. "You leave me no choice. Your punishment for going against the will of Olympus…"

"Save it! I no longer wish to stay amongst you all. I'll gladly give up my seat on Olympus if it means no longer being a part of your madness."

Hestia then broke the rope that restrained her hands. Glowing with her godly energy, she turned to leave and Demeter followed her out into the halls.

"Why did you do that? We both should have taken the fall." Demeter asked Hestia.

"Both of us need not suffer the misguided wrath of our fellow gods. We did the right thing Demeter, I just wish we'd done it sooner. Kim would still be alive."

"We owe much to her. Kim has served us faithfully and our debt to her must be paid."

"Do not worry about that Demeter." Hestia said glancing out of the window.

"Where are you going to go?" Demeter asked.

"I'll track down Shego and the others. I'll look after them, make sure war is diverted. They're hearts burn with revenge. They're bound to do something that could spark a war. That must not be allowed to happen." Hestia pointed out. "I need you to keep watch from here. Keep an eye out for me. Something is wrong with here, I don't know what it is, but hopefully we find the solution. Can you do this for me?"

Demeter nodded. "May you be safe on your travels."

Hestia nodded and took her leave.

Present Day

Ever since then she has been monitoring the other Olympians. Their behavior seemed to return to normal except for the fact that they were dead set on finding Shego's group and putting them down. It has been several months since she last saw Hestia. She told Hestia about the gods increasing needs of finding the alleged oath breakers. Hestia had then set out to find and alert the Amazon Princess. That was four months ago. Demeter turned her gaze to the lower floors of Olympus that she could see from her balcony. There she saw soldiers gathered by Ares and Athena. Athena expecting retaliation to come had organized the troops that were dedicated to the gods. Ares participated just for the incoming battle, he did live for war after all.

Demeter pointed out to Athena that her actions abnormal for the goddess of wisdom. Demeter went even as far as to remind Athena that it was her spear that took Artemis' life that day. Athena vehemently denied the claim. Demeter wasn't sure if her niece was still in denial over what happened or if she truly believed Kim was to blame for Artemis' death. Either way both of her red headed niece's lost their lives that day.

A sigh escaped her lips, surely there was something that could be done. She soon found that she was on her way to talk to Zeus and plead for all this to stop.

Dion, Northern Greece

In the bustling city of Dion amongst the crowd of people moved several people. They wore hooded robes that were dark in color and despite this went unnoticed by the citizens as they moved throughout the city. The three people came to a stop at a local tavern. They looked around and seeing that no one paid them any mind as what had normally become the case. Of them gazed at the mountain in the background. That mountain was Mt. Olympus home of the gods. Black lips curved into a smile as the gaze shifted from the mountain back to the door. They entered the tavern and they were greeted by the others that were hooded robes, but they had withdrawn from their hoods being within the safety of the tavern.

The three removed their hoods revealing two women and one man. The women both had long black hair and sported similar features one of the few differences were height and eye color. The taller of the two women had blue eyes and the other had green eyes. The man was a tall blonde with brown eyes and a freckled face.

They all shared glances and kept moving towards the back of the tavern. There they were greeted by a familiar face. Another woman with long black hair and four orange eyes that glowed within the low light of the tavern. She had black lips like the Amazon Princess before her. Her skin was a pale white and possessed the lower half of a spider. The spider half was black with a sharp exoskeleton and a white skull on her thorax.

"Looking good Arachne." The blonde said.

"Watch it Spartan, you wouldn't want your wife to get any ideas." The spider woman remarked with a teasing smile.

Ron looked over to see his wife Bonnie casting him glance. Displeased with the constant running they've been doing for the past year. She too wore a hooded robe which found distasteful to what she normally dressed in. The robes were to hide their immediate appearance from the gods that hunted them. While the robes sometimes made them stand out, it kept them from being directly identified by the gods and because of this they have escaped several close situations.

"So we're doing this?" Ron asked looking to Hippolyta and Shego.

Hippolyta turned to look at Shego who nodded. "Aren't you tired of running and hiding? This is no life for us to live. It's not what Kim would want." Shego said still grief stricken at the loss of her love. "Today is the last day we wear these robes."

The other three nodded in agreement with Shego. They walked off and talked amongst the others that were the Athenian soldiers and Amazons from one year ago.

"I'm tired of running Ronnicus." Bonnie said with a frustrated huff.

"Well today is the last day you have to run, and wear this robe."

"Thank the gods." Bonnie said.

Ron glanced at her. "It's the gods that put us in this position." He reminded her.

Shego walked to a corner of a tavern to sit, opting to be alone as she had now become accustomed to doing. She often felt alone and found herself plagued of nightmares of Kim. Dreams in which she awoke to find that the red head was no actually lying next to her. Or dreams where she had failed to save Kim from Ares. Those dreams made Shego secluded in nature at times.

"How long has it been since you all came together like this? Six months?" A female voice. Said as another robbed figure sat across from Shego.

"What do you want Hestia?" Shego asked with an annoyed tone.

"I implore you to take a different action. This road you are willing to travel down is not the only one left to you."

"Yeah what would you know? You're a fallen goddess now if I remember correctly." Shego quickly retorted.

Hestia sighed. "You know this is not what Kim wanted."

"Then you did not know her at all. She wouldn't want me to live a life on the run. She would have preferred it if I fought."

"You dishonor her memory Shego. Do not rush to your death." Hestia told her taking Shego's hands in her own.

"Leave me." Shego told her. Not glancing at the goddess.

"Shego…"

"Leave me!"

Hestia sighed as she released Shego's hands. She placed the hood on her head and stood. She gave Shego a final look, the Amazon Princess glaring heatedly at the goddess. Shego watched the goddess disappear into the crowd in the tavern. As far as she was concerned her life of running was over tonight.

Hours later

Mt. Olympus

Night had set in and Hera was turning in for the night. The day ended with a heated argument with Demeter about the hunt for Shego and her friends. Hera knew better. She knew that once they were drawn out she would see to it that they met a fate worthy of their treachery. She turned to see that Zeus had already fallen asleep. She held a look of contempt for her husband.

She silently cursed him for the tragic events of her life. The numerous affairs that Zeus has committed, the numerous amounts of illegitimate children he had running around, and of course the situation with Kim. Giving Kim the gift of lightning to fend off Hera almost cost them all dearly in her opinion. Luckily Ares and Enyo put a quick end to her reign of terror and when Hades showed up tomorrow to confirm her place in the underworld, she would sleep more comfortably at night.

She knew it was absurd to believe that the little monster was still alive after all she watched Ares snuff the life from the red head's eyes. Still Hera was always a paranoid woman and a definite confirmation would do her much good. Though she knew it would do her no good to continuously dwell on it she climbed into bed facing away from Zeus and proceeded to drift off to sleep.

However after several minutes Hera's eyes snapped open as she could have sworn she felt the mountain shake. She sat up quickly after the mountain shook again. This time Zeus was awoken by the shaking of the mountain. The looked at each other, each giving the other a confused glanced. Zeus climbed from their bed followed shortly by Hera as they walked to the balcony and looked outside.

As their eyes gazed downward they were met with a green explosion of fire. They watched as a woman with raven black hair and green flaming fists tore through the ranks of soldiers Athena and Ares had gathered for such an assault. The goddess of wisdom was right about an eventual attack on Olympus. Their attention was attracted upwards as radiant light shown down from further up on Olympus. The light gave brief illumination in the night as an Olympian came crashing down, knocking back Shego and her warriors.

That Olympian was Athena. The fool walked right into a trap, her need for revenge will get her killed this night was the thought going through Hera's head. Athena was not the only one who was awake during the attack that woke the king and queen of the gods. Water burst forth from the inner halls of Olympus carrying some amazons over the edge to their unfortunate demise. Poseidon entered the battle to confront Shego but she was not alone as Hippolyta came to her daughter's aid.

"It seems they have gathered for a pathetic attempt of a last stand. How quaint." Hera said as she glanced at her husband who kept his eyes glued to the fight. His fists began to crackle with lightning.

The king of the gods was infuriated that mortals would dare desecrate Olympus by committing an atrocious act of violence. He would make these mortals understand the order of things. However before Zeus could take action there was commotion heard in the halls outside their chambers. Several guards could be heard engaging what seemed to be a single entity. They watched as a bright light rapidly and brightly flashed outside their doors creating a bright luminescence.

The pair once again exchanged glances as the rapid flicker of the light ceased momentarily before starting back up again. The screams of the men that guarded the chamber could be heard as they echoed through the halls. The light ceased and bodies slumping to the floor could be heard.

After a few seconds all was quiet before the doors were forced open by one of the guard's body as it came to a stop at Zeus and Hera's feet. Zeus felt Hera tap him on his shoulder as and he looked to see a frightened expression on his wife's face. He looked forward at the approaching form and his eyes widened with shock.

The person before them wore black armor smoldering armor with a fiery glow in certain places. The entity had matching colored grieves on as well as gauntlets. The symbol on the entity's chest plate showed off that of a large fist that also had a fiery glow which let Zeus know this person before them was employed by the Titans. A smile could be seen as the figure grew closer and the wind that blew through the open window of the chamber blew through the entity's long flowing red hair that seemed to be glowing as if it were on fire as well. Zeus could see the determination burning in this red head's olive green eyes.

"How is this possible? Y-You died? I saw you die!" Hera said visibly shaken by the sight before her. She hid behind Zeus peering from around him at the woman whose eyes seemed to be focused on her rather than her father.

The smile on the red head's face widened more, it was time to finish what the gods started.

"Hera, I'm home." Kim said before charging in.

Well guys what do you think of that ending? You thought you'd seen the last of Kim you were wrong lol. Huh? What's that sequel baiting? I guess you can call it that, more or less. Still I am glad you all stuck with me as I wrote this story and I hope you will all be there with me again when I write the prologue for God of KiGo II uploads. Have a nice night and be safe, you never know when a crazy red head might kick down your door.
