I never even thought that my 1st ever GrayLu fanfic would get this much support! Chapter 15

It truly was a tiring day for her. She just ran a few kilometres to talk to her best friend, and now she's running again to tell her real feelings to the guy who truly has her heart.

She was panting really fast… and loud that the people she would run past to would look at her and wonder if she's either in a marathon competition or she's a criminal running away from the Council, though she doesn't have the looks to be a bad wizard.

But she didn't mind them, she had a problem and she can't afford to waste any time. It's neither about how tired she was nor how exhausted she looked. She had to run everywhere just to find him because she doesn't know his whereabouts.

She was almost out of breath when she finally saw him in the place she wasn't expecting he would be at – he was right there, standing in front of the building of her apartment.

"G-Gr" she was trying to catch her breath, "G-Gray…" she finally said his name, but it was too soft that he wasn't able to hear it.

He was there because he wanted to at least see her before he leaves for a job. Even a strand of her hair would be enough to fill his empty cup.

He longed for her.

She saw him stare at where her room is, sigh, look down, and turn away. "Gray!" she finally managed to call him, but she was too tired that she fell slowly on her knees.

He turned around and saw her, "Lucy?" He ran to her, worried. "Are you okay?" he held her arms.

She continued to pant and catch her breath. She nodded. She slowly stood up with the help of the raven-haired mage. "Y-you…"

"Don't rush yourself. What happened to you? Is there an enemy? Did something happen to the guild?"

She shook her head. She took a deep breath and started to be at ease. "Gray, I… I'm sorry!" she suddenly hugged him.

He was surprised, but he hugged her back and moved his hand up and down her back without his awareness. "Sorry? For what?"

"I'm sorry I drove you away before! I was… I was just afraid to face the truth! I was an idiot!"

He was slightly confused, "I don't think I understand what you're—"

She pulled herself away from his body. "Gray, you… you are the greatest thing that ever happened to me. And I was wrong to let you go, even though you weren't really mine."

"A-are you saying?" he took a step back, thinking that something as good as this can't be possibly true.

She nodded as tiny droplets of tears formed in her eyes; tears that showed how happy she was during that time, how happy she felt for saying the words inside her she yearned to let out. "I'm so sorry for not being able to see you before. I'm so sorry for giving you mixed signals before. I'm so sorry because I even had to talk to our nakamas to finally admit to myself that yes… I feel the same way you feel for me. I'm—"

"Stop." He embraced her once again, but now, even tighter. "I chose you. You chose me. End of story."

She slowly smiled, hugged him back, and dug her face into his shoulders. "Where did you think you were going? Leaving me all of a sudden when you actually confessed to me…"

"I just didn't want to be a hindrance. I wanted you to go for whatever makes you happy, even if it would mean that I'd be hurt."

"Who said you're a hindrance? You are Gray Fullbuster for goodness' sake. You're the one who makes me happy. You're the one who completes me."

Hearing this, he immediately knew what to say next, "Say… Can I ask you something?"

"Hmm?"

"… Lucy Heartfilia," he gulped, "How would you like to be my girlfriend? But this time, for real."

She blushed and her smile became even more radiant, "… Oh come on," she looked at him, "You already know my answer to that…"

She let go and held his hand, "Now, let's go!"

"To where?"

She winked, "The guild, silly! We have to tell everyone this news! Though they may be really confused and start asking questions…" she looked ahead and dragged him.

"Wait!"

She looked at him, "Why?"

"… Can I ask you another question?"

She tilted her head a little, "Sure, what is it?"

"Remember what you said about your first kiss? You said you won't let the act take it and you said you want it to be true and passionate, right?"

She started to redden, somehow having an idea to where it was going. She gently mumbled, "Y-yes…"

He pulled her to him, wrapped his arms around her waist, and leaned his face close… very close, to hers. His left hand was supporting her weight. His right hand smoothly shoved her blonde hair away from her face, locking it beneath her right ear as he whispered,

"Well, do you want to have it now?"
